Tax man: Have you ever waltzed into someone's home and took their goods?
Me after waltzing into someone's home: nope never.
I assumed it was witcher lore that peasants left gifts for nosey witchers to find.
Interesting the tax gatherer's name is "Walthemor Mitty." Wonder if this is a flashback to the 1940's story and movie "The Private Life of Walter Mitty" where an employee of a publisher of adventure books and stories constantly flashes into fantasies where he is a dashing hero...swashbuckler, fighter ace, private detective. In a way he could represent all of us...cause we all fantasize about being a near superhuman Witcher named Geralt.
Tax man, that's a real hero! 😊
"Nope.. just there to blow off their candles"
Me after looting all their goods and things that I don´t even need at all:
Nope.
I put roughly 3200 hours into this game. You turned up one secret I did not know about: the ghost ship in Skellige. Thank you.
I got it the other day the first time ever, some 300+h of gameplay.
How tf are people have so much time to play?
I have around 7k haha
@@AFacemarkedbyFea the game is 7 years old, that's roughly 61000 in hours, so ud probably have to have at least 3 kids and or be the president to not have 3200 hours in 7 years to play a game
There isnt 3200 hours of content in this game
The white rabbit can actually be killed using a bomb, which is in reference to the holy hand grenade used to kill the rabbit in Monty Python
That's genius! lol
Literally one of the best games I've ever played, so sad that I can't experience it for the first time again
Maybe like Geralt you'll get temporary amnesia. Then you can experience it again like it's the first time...
But I can though, should I play it I watch the series and loved it
Play the next gen update. Well worth it.
play Kingdome Come Deliverance
@@_N3N_ well yes, but be prepared, something in games doesn't make sense from series, because they don't perfectly represent books. But still it is perfect game, you actually don't need any knowledge of other books or games
Also, in Dark Souls easter egg, when you interact with the bonfire, the game auto-saves, which is another amazing detail.
that is not new BTW its a souls things since demon's , its no easter egg is a game mechanic . dumbss LOL
I'm about 96 hours in, currently at level 44... didn't think I'd get so immersed into a game. Been out of the gaming world for about 10 yrs..
Wow you level up fast. I am 80 hrs in and just level 18 😒
Never played a game before Hogwarts Legacy...after doing a character for each school, I was done and looking for another "magical" game.
Found the Witcher.. I'm now 2ooh in, Level 6o, having finished the main game and the 2 dlc, ready for a new game + later today 🎋
I still have to craft my feline and ursine grandmaster gear+ swords (all the others are done, including the Manticore and Viper ones)🎋
This game is absolutely amazing, never thought I would enjoy myself sooo much gaming!
Also envisaging waking up my old PC to try and play Witcher 1 & 2🎋
@@ChristmasLore I did complete the game and the two DLCs (on PS4) , currently on New Game + on the PS5 port with a total of about 180 hrs now.. I'm still replaying Ghost of Tsushima, didn't think I'd enjoy it but after the 1st playthrough and doing Iki Island I went straight in with NG+ lol
Damn that last one gave me goosebumps. A beautiful secret that I didn't know about. Love the secrets you post lately Fizhy!
Secret 6 : the weeping angels must be a refernce to creatures/monsters of the same name in the Doctor Who sci-fi series.
I thought the same,i watched the episode😁
It is. They do exactly what the weeping angels of Doctor Who do. When you're not looking they move. When you look, they freeze.
Fun fact. There’s a gwent card called cow that will summon the bovine defense card(chort) when it gets removed from the field.
Ive gotten that card twice but cant ever remember where or how
@@MrRandy3504 I picked it up in Brunwick during one of the HoS quests
You can find the chort card in Brunwick in the hay loft in the barn
It's near that place where there's a wedding, the one you attend with Shani in Hearts of Stone expansion
There is a Gwent card of said cow (I don't know if you need to have a Heart of Stone) at an attic where the wedding takes place during Heart of Stone. That cow has 0 attack but spawns 8 strength monster whenever it is removed.
The monster is a chort called 'bovine defence force'
You Need HoS
The thing I love about this game and Skyrim is no matter how many times I beat it I can always go back and find something new
Or more likely forgot you did before
While at the sky cells I looted a parchment off one of the pirates that name dropped Cthulhu and gave mention to 'The Ancient Gods'. The parchment also said more sacrifices were needed. Wondered if it was meant to be part of a mission that never got developed, but was planned, much like The Devils Pit (glad that did finish that mission and put it in the game). The parchment also said more sacrifices were needed
It's so refreshing to see this kind of content. Most videos are of the same things everyone's seen 1000 times this well crafted video was full of things I still haven't found after hundreds of hrs. Very well done mate
The angel statues are a reference to a famous Doctor Who episode
"Blink", 10.3. These angels were one of the creepiest moments in the game for me.
I had no idea about the ghost ship and I've done like 6 full runs including dlc, that's awesome 😁
i love that it came out in 2015, but there’s still things i didn’t know about this game in 2022. after 350+ hours of gameplay. 🐐
The last secret hits really hard in the feeling, that heartfelt farewell to Geralt and the fans from the devs.
That with the "Fanflares and Flowers" from Toussaint playing over... Makes me cry. It really does.
No other game does this to you, what an amazing masterpiece.
I´d even say this is not a game, it´s a godly experience that everyone should live through.
Same thoughts here. Most wonderful game ever made. I always have to skip "Fanfares and Flowers", hits me everytime way to much
Bit far
One of the most frustrating things about this game is that there are many quests that you can unwittingly miss depending on previous choices. There's one on skellige ("trading in flesh" maybe?) that disappears if you complete "following the thread", which most people complete early. No idea why the devs would do this...
Worst than this is sometimes you fail quest without completing because of choices you make, this is even more frustratiing.
@@nimbupaani6335 yes I've failed gangs of novigrad before bc I didn't feel like working with cleaver. Doesn't affect the overall story but I hate having any "failed quests" on my quest menu.
I suspect it’s for replay value and continuity
I like it, because just like in real life, the choices you make, can make it to where other choices will not be possible to occur. Plus that’s what new game + is for
I think that's what makes it cool. FOr replay value and continuity. If you are a perfectionist or have OCD, it must be hell. But there's a beauty in this game design.
Man, this game is just Mind blowing sometimes. Even if someone is aware of every secret on this list, there's almost certainly stuff out there they haven't seen unless they're either some crazy dataminer or they've seen every iteration of the "ten secrets" video. I'm quickly approaching 1000 hours in The Witcher 3 and in my current playthrough I just found a full-on side quest I've never played, AND a loading screen I hadn't ever seen (you know, where Dandelion reads a little blurb about the point youre currently at in the story,) in the SAME DAY. There are just so many places to go, so many missable things and events. The Witcher 3 really is one of the top games of the generation, and I say that as someone who, until playing it on a whim, "wasn't really into monsters and stuff." Now I've read all the books, put close to 1000 hours into TW3, and built a beefy gaming PC just to go back and play the previous games. What a masterfully written universe.
You just keep rapid firing great content don’t you Fizhy? You’re so underrated it’s crazy
Almost time for the next generation version of this masterpiece!!
are they doing a next gen update??
@@SerAkimbo yes
Love the video Fizhy! Great Job, keep on a good work ;)
I missed most, if not all, and enjoyed the video immensely! Time to go hunt some of these down
The tax collector's name is a clear reference to the movie Walter Mitty, with Ben Stiller as the protagonist
I don't even know how many hours have I put into this game anymore. I knew about all of these stuff, the only people that can still surprise me is xLetalis and Neon Knight. Still a very well put together video, cheers!
Have just gotten into modding the game and really diving into a completionist playthrough, so thanks ever so much for this (and other) videos.
Man, nostalgia. Good video, bout to go replay the game
I did know all of these but this was still a great video!
I didn't know about the sword in the land of a thousand fables, thanks for pointing that one out
Excellent work. Thanks 🙏
The ghost ship was new to me. So thank you for telling me about it. Now I'm gonna go check it out. XD
Good work Fizh
I'd love to see a video where you breakdown the most important choices of the game, and what is the better choice in your opinion.
I remember the first time I ever saw a whale in the game. I heard it before I saw it and it absolutely freaked me out. I tried to follow it underwater but it glitched away into the sunset.
I don't even think you can interact with them. I tried shooting one with a crossbow, but it didn't do anything. I think they are just there to make the world more immersing.
@@Kobanyai_enjoyer yeah the whales are like the ones programmed in AC Odyssey. When I was playing through my play through in Odyssey, I came across numerous of whales and I was able to touch one, but that was it. It just swims and eventually despawns once you get far enough away from it, or it gets far enough away from you.
I drink the superior cat potion and go underwater to watch it swim away.
that music brought me back so good
Unbelieveable! The Witcher 3 desrves to be called THE GOAT GAME, at least in my opinion. Love your devotion to it!
Played this game a lot when came out almost 10 years ago, but never knew about the Tax man at Oxenfurt. Sometimes looks like this kind of secret never ends in games as gta SA, Skyrim, The Witcher, Rdr2 and Elden Ring more recently.
i knew all of these, still good video, i can see an effort! tnx!
I'm definitely down for more video game secret videos
The picture is super cool. :)
You can insult my intelligence. I have 100% missed most of these if not all. I’m replaying it now and I’m excited
That's odd, I could have sworn I also saw the developer's photograph before in the game without it being modded or anything like that. Strange for sure, but great video here too brother!! Have played this game through so many countless times it's not even funny and I am ALWAYS finding new stuff each time I do as well.
I am playing it now 3rd time and didn't have idea about that cool sword in DLC - Thanks !
Yes! Can we expect more vids like this?
This is his 4th or 5th
@@erc3338 i know, but they are posted rarely. And for me personally, the witcher content is the best
Secret Number 10 is really cool.. I didn't know that one
nice stuff you showed here :)
Great Video!
Thanks
Cheers!
Wow, that developer pic easter egg is incredible!
The named Walthemor Mitty is a play on Walter Mitty who is a man how lives his life in his delusions of grandeur daydreams, so the Tax Collector was kind of a two-for-one joke.
Definitely checking this out
my favourite game of all time, never knew about the dark souls secret
I have over 90 000 crowns and I've never dealt with console codes, in fact I just learned about them. Managed to accumulate that amount by selling everything to the appropriate vendors and trough grind until I finished the main game and all of the expansions. :D
That was awesome !
That first place had a question mark that I CAN NEVER FIND!!
@Fizhy In extent to the Skellige Ghost Ship... have you éver had the misfortune of getting whooped by a Whale in those waters? Its terribly rare and random, but it happened to me TWICE in 7 full playthroughs now.
Thanks for doing this game. Rdr2 and mass effect I know pretty well so not as many new things, but I still haven't finished this so lots of new things
Love how 5 references the pearl exploit
The xLetalis channel has long studied this in detail. For about five years he sorted out the endless hidden details and connections. He then moved on to studying the excised content, which he conducts at the level of Sherlock Holmes.
Although this does not prevent dozens of new channels from appearing on CZcams every year, repeating the search for something long ago found in The Witcher 3.
I found the GoT one but don't think I saw any of the others while playing, not started the DLC with the Dark Souls reference yet so will make sure to grab that sword.
Nicely edited video. Good work.
Missed all these. The ghost ship is pretty cool.
Another fun secret I was reading about was that
SPOILERS:
If you cure Vivienne in the Blood and Wine expac you give her only about 7 years to live. She then goes off to Skellige. I am blanking to what town, but there you can wait like 2000 something in game days and you will see her walk into her room and collapse. I gave it a try and it's a real thing. Kind of a fun little detail as well.
I also enjoy the extra talking points you get with Triss, Yen, Ciri, and others if you have Gaunter O Dimm tattoo on your face before finishing the main story. You ask about if they can remove it or if it looks bad. So many fun things in this game. There were a few on your list I didn't know (like the tattoo) as I hadn't played Witcher 1 or imported a Witcher 2 file in a long time.
This is a great video and makes me want to go back to Witcher 3 again. Can I please know the names of the background soundtracks? I know they are from the Official Witcher 3 soundtrack but knowing the track names would help.
great video, waiting on the next gen update to play again. Best game ever made.
I only knew about the Game of Thrones reference and the Chort. These other ones were surprising
The Chort fram is still working but just a little slower you have to fast travel a way to the nilfgaardian camp wait 6-7 days and it will spawn again
Finally, a bunch of secrets I actually didn't know!
Dude, as extremely customizable as it is, *how* do you play with a full HUD??😂
Can't remember the button mapping?
The music though… it takes me back every time 😓😍
Tax man: “Have you at anytime engaged in the wholesale trade of rawhide in the white orchard area?”
Me: “Never!”
Meanwhile, there’s a certain bar in novigrad that can build homes out of pure cowhide….
the bondfire one is actually crazy
I just finished the game again, all quests; now playing Blood & Wine.
How do you get the damage stats to scroll in the left side of the screen? Is that a PC only thing?
The guards in Toussaint also randomly sing the O'er the hills song from the tv series Sharpe
I love Geralt's tatoo, it's a prize for being Roche's friend
I've got 3000 shells and 1500 pearls in my inventory
Taxman: have you at any time engaged in the acquisition of bivalves to sell the pearls herein?
Geralt: narp
One I just found is the glass raven skull from the intro cinematic. I haven’t reached Yen yet to see if she says anything.
Im currently playing this game for first time I love everything about this game so far
They also made the "Longclaw" sword as one of the dropped relic items. Long time fan GOT here.
The Angels watching seems to be a direct reference to an episode of Dr. Who where dangerous statues of angels would always move closer and closer to you every time you stop watching them.
It took only First 3 Seconds of Music to convince me to play again this Masterpiece
A Witcher 3 video by you is an INSTANT click
The tax guy has to be a commentary on Germanys ridiculous bureaucracy. I love it 😂
I only knew about 2 of these
The Monster Spawn in White Orchard and the Tax Collector
Up until now that ghost ship is news to me and I completed the game more than 10 times fully.
1:44 I was about to comment
Edit: you could do an epic nate and make hundreds of videos about secrets in the whicher 3
Number 7: Are you sure you can't kill it? I thought as a further reference it was possible to blow it up with bombs (grapeshot). Might need to try it again in a new playthrough ^^
I think the ghost ship in Skellige is a reference to the deleted main or side quest. Also can u find some cut content on The Witcher 3?
What reshader are you using
The island with the Tyrion Lannister’s sky cell also has a HP lovecraft Easter egg too :)
last one was cool and unique
Tw3 - I have to say- I think is the best game eve made. Its just so good..... replay after replay after replay.... amazing every playthrough.
Can you hang the diploma in your house in Toussaint? That would be cool. Or maybe even putting it on The Chameleons wall, like that painting of the hierarch.
So what do you get from that ghost ship? can u board it and loot it?
Mid December can’t get here fast enough holding off until the update and it isn’t easy
The last secret is the only i didn t stumble upon and it s pretty cool
dude the way you said hindarsfjall is hilarious, Im sorry LMAO
The Weeping Angels of Velen is a Doctor Who reference.
Yep, I am surprised not many have picked up on that.
Damn it! Those angels statues are FREAKIN TERRIFYING💀💀💀 I won't go near that place.
Maybe the ship has something the do with the story about how the mother of Ciri died. For the people that don’t know. Her mother died because Vilgefortz let the ship drown in a storm
I think too. :)
Awesome love the Witcher what are your expectations for the new game I personally can’t wait 😂
masterpiece
The sword on leo grave is the silver sword of Geralt in the trailers
