Why Fergie Left The Royal Family Behind | The Fergie Story | Real Royalty

  • When the marriage between Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson began, she was one of the most popular women to become Duchess of York since the creation of the title in 1385. With her informal style and sense of fun, Sarah Ferguson seemed like a breath of fresh air sweeping through a somewhat outdated institution. But her ill-judged behaviour proved to be her undoing as her royal marriage collapsed under the strain of scandal. "The Fergie Story" provides a unique glimpse into the life of the woman who could have been one of the most influential members of the Royal Family.
From Elizabeth II to Cleopatra, Real Royalty peels back the curtain to give a glimpse into the lives of some of the most influential families in the world, with new full length documentaries posted every week covering the monarchies of today and all throughout history.

Poor Fergie. I always thought the media was very unfair towards her. The RF didn't need another Diana, they already had one! I adored Diana, but I always found Fergie far more relatable. She is an casual, outdoorsy, uncomplicated gal. I am too. She struggled with weight issues, just as I have my entire life. If Charles had married Camilla, rather than Diana, Fergie would have fit in to the RF smoother than a silk glove. Unfortunately she was forever unfavorably compared to Diana. @Rustyrules. I Think she is all those things. A loyal and steadfast woman. We still don’t know why she got too close to another man so soon after her marriage, especially as she was so much in love with Andrew. It’s a mystery that will never be probed. Did she find out something that she just couldn’t cope with and took comfort where it was offered? She presented herself as a cheerful, bubbly personality, but she had always suffered from a chronic lack of self-esteem. It wasn’t the loneliness of Andrew’s absences that was the trouble ( the ‘official” view). He wasn’t supportive or understanding, according to the earliest reports. But Sarah blamed herself - due to that chronic lack of self-esteem, and accepted her abrupt ejection from the family without complaining. She had been badly treated by her long-time boyfriend; she had no money or training. But she was bright, energetic and wanted to be useful. I think Andrew threw her away. She accepts the current relationship.

Fergie and Diana were to TWO exceptional women. They were different as night and day. Fergie is joyful and bubbly with a free spirit and Diana was classy and an elegance of grace. Both were smart making a good balance in the royal family. It's an atrocity how the media always put Fergie down. Not everyone has a good metabolism and yet she always had the biggest smile and she glowed. I always felt so bad for her, and Diana too, both marrying spoiled brats being spoon fed on a silver platter. They both wanted their Prince charming but found they married overindulged flesh.
