  • Trying to figure out the Starseer Advanced Job location? Maybe some Boss Tactics? This is your guide for tackling the Shrine of the Starseer and how to steamroll them!
    I did this boss with the Sorcerer Advanced Job, here's how to get it:
    • Octopath Traveler - So...
    Jump to 12:24 for the details on the Advanced Job: Starseer.
    Recommended Level: 50. Surrounding area is Danger Level 45, Shrine is 50. Boss has 178k+ HP.
    Requirements: One of each - Cleric, Dancer & Hunter. Merchant & Apocathary are optional.
    Required Skills: Leghold Trap (Hunter), Heal More (Cleric), Reflective Veil (Cleric), Scholar/Sorcerer Multi Hit Spells, Sealtigce's Seduction (Dancer Divine Skill), Alephan's Enlightenment (Scholar Divine Skill), Aelfric's Auspices (Cleric Divine Skill), Empoison (Apocathery / Optional)
    Supports suggested: Saving Grace on all
    Method:
    Leghold trap on the boss, boost gives higher a debuff. This will force the boss to the last moves in queue, unless they're coming out of break.
    Heal more boosted as high as you can on the party. Goal is 6~7500 HP per character. Saving Grace will allow for overhealing.
    Build boost on your Healer and Caster.
    Cast Sealtigce's Seduction on your Cleric with your Dancer. Cast Reflective Veil on the party with your Cleric.
    Build boost and cast Alephan's Enlightenment and Aelfric's Auspices on your caster.
    Start casting any spells the boss is weak against. When broken, you should be doing 9000+ damage per hit.
    Once the boss starts casting his spells, it will reflect each of the 3 hits 4 times. 4 party members x 3 hits = 12 hits reflected. This is 1500 odd damage per hit, maxing out at around 85000 HP.
    If the boss uses the element they've switched to, they will break their own shield with this method, more or less semi-stunlocking them. (semi if you factor first move after break is always first)
    The boss will also rotate it’s weaknesses after coming out of Break, making them unidentified. They will also increase their shield number to a maximum of 10 over a few rounds.
    🔥 Skills 🔥
    Shooting Stars: Deal wind, light and dark damage to all foes.
    BP Boost: Allow a single ally to gain 2 BP per turn for 2 turns.
    Divination: Increase a single ally's critical hit rate for 2 turns.
    Starsong: Augment a single ally's physical defense, elemental defense, speed, and evasion for 2 turns.
    Celestial Intervention: For 2 turns, render a single foe unable to receive attribute augmentations, or a single ally immune to all attribute penalties.
    Ethereal Healing: Grant HP regeneration to all allies for 2 turns.
    Moon's Reflection: Grant a single ally the ability to counter physical damage one time.
    Steorra's Prophecy: [Divine Skill] Unleash an elemental attack on all foes that deals damage proportional to the party's current BP.
    🛡️ Support Skills 🛡️
    Hard Worker: Gain additional JP after battles (Multiple does not stack).
    Boost-Start: Gain an additional 1BP at the start of battle.
    BP Eater: Boosted skills performed by the equipping character deal additional damage.
    Divine Aura: The equipping character gains a 25% chance of nullifying any damage taken.
    🤜 Let's party up!

    Starseer is by FAR the most important job in the game!! The entire stack of passive skills are SUPER important & strong!
    JP UP, Boost Start & BP Eater are all absolutely essential! Best to try & get this class asap, if only for the JP UP which is the first passive you learn 😊
    BTW it's totally possible to do this just with a Scholar too!

      That is exactly what I did! Or use dancer divine and put 4x counter physical from star-seer if you want to burst her down, counter phyiscal and +2bp per turn could be constant chip damage the whole fight. If you go for Ruenlord first she one trick where she will do an aoe slash that inflicts sleep for 5 turns right after you do enough damage to "scatter the runes", she can also do a single target attack that inflicts unconscious so I ended up equipping 2 people with wakeful stones (immune to sleep accessory) and put that resist ailments skill from apoth on everyone.

    I had a difficult time with this because I found that Primrose had way too much to do, and not enough SP. In the end, I switched her out for Ophilia/dancer, and Alfyn/hunter instead of H’aanit. I really needed to use Alfyn to take some of the healing pressure from the cleric so she could concentrate on Aelfric’s Auspices and Peacock Strut. I didn’t worry about the reflect thing at all. It worked eventually. I’m not a very good battler, so I’m sure I just messed up your method. Still, whatever works, right. Again, thanks a bunch for your guides. Going straight on to your Runelord Guide.

    Any tips on who I should put starseer on? I have a Cyrus that I'm planning in making sorcerer before getting starseer, tressa with thief, olberic with hunter, and alfyn with dancer. Any suggestions?

  • @helpgirlimhavingalifecrisis

    Came to this guide after getting a lucky x100 exp boost and my whole party being level 59+ for this. (They were all level 35/36 except for my protag ha’anit). Loadout was ha’anit/merchant, primrose/cleric, therion/scholar, and Alfyn/warrior. I don’t remember using the scholar’s divine skill all that much but I DO remember that I never felt I needed to because I had 5 reflective shields on everyone at all times, which really makes the boss so much easier lol.
    If anyone’s having trouble keeping the dancer’s divine to cast reflective veil(esp if you loaded your cleric onto primrose like I did), try using Alfyn and a merchant so the bp boosting is more consistent across the party. If you don’t have a hunter to cast arrowstorm when Steorra is weak to arrows, try classing Alfyn as a hunter because his warrior kit didn’t really do much for me in that battle except when Steorra was weak to swords.
    Also, Alfyn can help break Steorra when she’s weak to dark with concoct if your dancer has too much to do in the fight to break her in that stage. He’s also good at healing and taking the pressure off the cleric to be healing and casting reflective veils at the same time. If Steorra gets an inch on you she’s gonna take an absolute mile, especially once she’s low on HP. Your cleric needs to be casting reflective veils as often as possible or else you’re fucked.
    Also, I did this without overheal (except on primrose) if anyone’s concerned about JP grinding for four characters for that skill from the cleric class. Had some close calls, but the olives can really save you lol.
    Either way, thanks for the video!
    Edit: forgot to mention using ha’anit and her summons this fight were really useful and can make up for you not having the scholar’s divine if you aren’t there yet/are going into this boss under leveled. (Plus not everyone is going to have a sorcerer on their team going into starseer...) There’s some really powerful triple attack enemies you can acquire quite easily which can deal upwards of 10k damage when steorra is broken. plus also don’t forget summons exist if you’re using primrose...a luckless sellsword in noblecourt can weaken the boss for 4 turns and deal 2k damage on average + will actually take damage for you on rare occasions. Which can really turn the battle of the fight when the dancer and cleric are still setting up.

    Primrose bp boost spell on first turn on self. Combine with BP starter and show must go on.
    Dancer divine spell on self. BP boost spell on entire party.
    Warmaster boss fight. Run Tressa as Runelord. Share rune with party combined with boosted Sidestep. You can stack it up to 9. Boss can’t even touch the party. Profit. XD

  • @lapniappe
    @lapniappe Před 5 lety +2

    the runelord is fun. it was really tough for me because i had actually forgotten to equip a character with a weapon so i had to beat him with makeshift weapons (and i still did it first try). you still want a reflect (on him) and (two) apthocaries would be helpful (I had Olberic Apthocary and Alfyn obviously). one kept applying the poison and everyone clear of mind with rehabiliate and Alfyn kept applying Boost Points and SP points. I had H'Aaanit the Merchant keep donating her BP (to Alfyn at first so he could do the reflect) and Tressa kept walloping him. it too a VERY long time (beceause of no weapon to Olberic) but out of all of them i think this (and Sorcerer) were the easiest ones.
    Warmaster is hard as hell but once you get runelord it's a piece of cake.

    How or were i can get lots of pomegranades that its my only hole in this

  • @mayaneko1094
    @mayaneko1094 Před 5 lety +1

    My setup is pretty simple:
    Ophilia
    Second Cleric
    Dancer/Merchant
    Merchant/Dancer
    The whole point here is to get the reflect shield on everyone as shown in the video, so that the starseer will kill herself, while the Merchant just spends all her PB to speed the process up. The double Cleric-Combo makes this group practically immortal, as she can't get enough damage through to beat the healing of 2 clerics if everyone has overheal (this is pretty important in case of the starseer preventing some of your characters from getting any buffs for a couple of rounds).
    I really don't see any point in actually trying to break the starseers shield, as this just prevents her from attacking the reflect shield, especially if your equipment isn't the best (like i just had pretty mediocre items, which made even my strongest mage attacks pretty weak compared to the reflect damage). This setup also don't need any items, unless you want to speed up things
    My first setup was Ophilia (Apothecary), H'aanit (Cleric), Tressa (Warrior), Primrose (Scholar), which did this fight first try without any problem (after a first scouting battle to see what i'm dealing with)
    After i did this battle i would however change some things to speed it up even more:
    - Ophilia (second job doesn't really matter), she'll mostly just build up the reflect shield and heal if necessary
    - Any Character (Cleric), it's the the same like Ophilia. It doesn't really matter, which character gets this job, so it'll propably be your main character, if it's not Ophilia/Primrose/Tressa
    - Primrose (Merchant) Her main Job is to just get her divine spell either on Ophilia or the second cleric, so that they can put the reflect shield on everyone. And until she gets the 3 BP up again to use the divine spell again, she can use the unboosted BP-spell to refill the boost of one of the clerics a littlebit faster
    - Tressa (Dancer), the fourth character isn't really needed at all, as 3 are already enough to win the fight, so she is mainly in the group to spend BP to other characters. You can use the dancers divine ability as well, if you're piling up.
    The most important support skills are just the overheal and the +500 HP-skill for low HP-Character (getting to 4000 HP with overheal should be enough though). You can also use SP-recovery abilities so you don't need to use any items for it.
    I did this with levels around 52, but it's propably possible with way less than this, as this setup isn't really stat dependand. The hardest thing about this fight however is to get to the shrine in the first place^^

      Though it took a little bit longer, and she'd use divine intervention on the third turn, by only mostly following your guide (no where near enough jp for Saving Grace on half of my party), I was more or less fine with my dancer Ophilia, apothecary Cyrus, merchant Therion, and hunter Olberic team.

      @AnamanaCh  Před 5 lety

      Gotta get on that Bewildering Grace 5x JP, son

  • @bettycreepersayuri-chan809

    I used:
    Apothecary Ophilia
    Hunter Tressa
    Dancer Therion
    Merchant Cyrus
    Strategy:
    Tressa uses the trap skill, making the boss move last on the second turn, While Cyrus donates his BP to Therion. Therion uses the dancer's divine Skill on Ophilia, and she uses the Reflecting veil. The boss is Stupid, she basically continuosly hits herself. The battle simply goes on With Tressa and Cyrus donating BP to Therion, who uses the dancer Skill, and Ophilia using that OP Veil. This boss is so stupid that she always hits herself, sometimes even breaking herself, too.
    In a bunch of turns the battle is finished.

      I fought this last, after getting the rest. Can replace sealticges seduction with transfer rune i guess since it also doesnt need BP boost to max. She's also a pain because when i fought her i was lvl 80ish she had 250k++ hp and 9-12 shield LOL. Had olberic always at min hp around 500 and use the warmaster divine when she's in break along with sorcerer skills. The funny thing is when she cast confusion on my character, the character attacks the boss which has reflect rather than attacking own self to remove the stats. Olberic was almost dead along the fight. What a fight to remember lol. Your vids are a real help though, keep it up!

I'm confused since I've also used a couple of nuts and having the same setup also with skills but still under your stat around 30-ish lol. I wonder if its a random base stat or theres something i need to do since i'm only just beggining everyone's chapter 2 and already lvl 80ish and getting all the adv subclass lol

    I just don't understand.. Your Primrose has 2946 HP and using overhead gives you over 7k HP.
    My Primrose is lv 61 with 3561 normal HP yet using overheal gives her a measly 3580. All my characters in my party are high levels, similar stats to yours, with your weapons (mainly because I used optimising), all with saving grace but when over healing gives such a low number, none of them are over 5k in health.
    I just don't understand it. It's hurting my brain figuring it out.

    • @fluorideinthechat7606
      @fluorideinthechat7606 Před 2 lety

      The trick with over heal is to heal when they’re at or near full HP to gain the full health buffer. A good way to do this is a boosted First Aid on a Caster, which on someone with low max health like Primrose will heal up to about 6-7k HP.

    • @AnamanaCh
      @AnamanaCh  Před 5 lety +1

      You need to get the Cleric secondary job and learn enough skills to unlock the fourth support skill on each character.

    • @Drewsefer89
      @Drewsefer89 Před 5 lety

      Anamana! I have the cleric secondary job. Do I have to equip each person with it and have them learn all the skills? Right now I have it equipped to H’aanit. So technically Olphilia & H’aanit are the two characters I have that have that skill.

    • @AnamanaCh
      @AnamanaCh  Před 5 lety

      Yep, you will need to learn every skill on each character with the secondary job. Once it’s learned, it’s on that character permanently. So, imagine all the combos you can do with support skills by learning as many as you can. I’d wager, by chapter 4 you’d be running into the same difficulty bottleneck if you don’t get on learning skills from jobs.

    The last two skills aka the ones you said sounded amazing, are actually by far the worst ones in the entire class.... What are you talking about? A counterattack with nothing more than a physical is nothing special at all, and only one time? And HP Regen only regens a tiny amount of health. It's like the Scholar support skill but isn't infinite. It's not that special at all when you can easily spend the turn just healing everyone for a large chunk of HP. Those two skills that you said sound amazing are literally worthless. The ones before it are actually the amazing ones.
