  • Forgot to mention this but there are a few skills that also work extremely well with the Runelord builds. For your other attackers, having Patience or Second Serving allows them to have another turn, or a chance of dealing a second hit. By equiping said skill, you are giving up the bigger numbers, but you will be doing more damage overall per turn action.
    Basics to increasing Elemental Damage.
Elemental Augmentor, Nuts, Armor, Skills and Weapons (particularly weapons with high elemental damage that also come with an increase elemental modifier.
The Runelord is to buff the party up while the parties job is to kill the enemies. The skills on the Runelord will only affect the Runelords attack. By increasing Elemental Damage with the skills, it will not carry over to the other party members. You can literally give your Runelord any skills. You also want to make sure your Runelord has decent speed so you can buff the party at the beginning of turn 2.
Runelord Skills/Items/Weapons don't really matter as you will be using Transfer Rune turn 1 and then a Rune Element turn 2. Equip your other 3 character with the best gear first and then equip your Runelord Last.
As for the other party members, make sure to equip the skills I show in the video when upgrading Olberic, and to have weapons that have an increased elemental modifier.
Physical attacks that hit everything on the battlefield are best.
Warmaster has several DMG ALL skills, Apothecary has Last Stand,
Hunter has Arrowstorm, Warrior has Level Slash.
For the other classes i show at the end, you would build her just like a normal Hunter, Sorcerer, or Warrior.

Additionally, if you don't want to use Tressa for buffs as a Runelord, she also deals the highest damage out of anyone in the party with the Rune Lord's Divine, Balogar's Blade. This is because she can stack Harald's Sword (Fire Up), Battle Tested Axe (Ice & Lightning Up), Tradewinds Spear (Wind Up), and the Primeval Bow of Storms (Wind Up) for a total of four elements boosted, with one element being boosted twice.
This nets you a nice bonus as Balogar hits with all elements. {Fire + Ice + Lightning + Wind + Light + Dark} becomes {Fire*1.3 + Ice*1.3 + Lightning*1.3 + Wind*1.69 + Light + Dark}, higher than anyone else in the game! This is because anyone else who starts with two weapons already has either a sword or an axe, while Tressa has neither, leaving her space to double boost the wind element.

Tradewinds Spear requires you to complete Tressa Ch4. There is a sidequest in Sunshade.
Primeval Bow requires you to complete H'aanit's Ch4. There is a sidequest in Victor's Hollow.
Battle Tested Axe requires you to complete Olberic's Ch4 (and maybe others). There is a new NPC in Victor's Hollow who you can purchase/steal it from.

I'm not an expert on octopath and rpgs....but I have a couple questions. I basically beat the games main story by only having olberic, Ophilia, primrose and Cyrus in my party by changing out prim for the relevant story characters...scholar on olberic, warrior on Ophilia, thief on prim, and merchant on Cyrus. I mainly just buffed and incited olberic and killed everything with Cyrus. Soo...my main question is, why is tressa favorable for the runelord job over any other party member? If you can increase their stats through nuts and equipment,it shouldn't matter who gets the runelord job. Especially because you don't need to have a job equipped to use it's support skill.
I'm still not quite sure though because I still haven't gotten any of the special secondary jobs yet. Also, I want to start using haanit more because she is like 10 levels behind my main party but it's discouraging because she does so little damage even with powerful bows like the augmented bow of the falcon her bow attacks do like nothing so why is arrowstorm so bad compared to level slash. And it's not like I don't see how useful she is... I saw the youtube video where she does a ridiculous amount of damage with what I presume is a captured boss beast but I have no idea where to find them or how to capture them. Maybe just get lucky after you mercy strike them?

Zen I ran the same exact team with rune lord Therion and merchant Ophilia to unlock the war master job, for star seer to shine even brighter, you ll need dancer’s divine skill which makes single target spells become multiple target ones. Anyway after I unlocked starseer i switched Therion to dancer since he is also another supporting character beside Ophilia. Runelord sound fun and all but it pretty much depends on the characters ‘s own elemental attack

    • @roadrunner9332
      @roadrunner9332 Před 5 lety

I might be able to help you with defeating Dreisang (sorcerer Job) and Steorra (starseer).
For this strategy, you need a cleric with his/ her "reflective veil" skill (the one that reflect elemental attacks) and a Dancer with his/her Divine Skill "Sealticge' s seduction.
(This Jobs should be used bby two different Team members).
During the first turn, you should break the boss before he can act (especially important against Dreisang, since he likes to start with a skill that prohibits buffs and thereby ruins this strategy)
After the boss is broken, use Sealticge's Seduction on your cleric (Of Course you should use items/skills to give your dancer enough BP to do that).
After that, your cleric should use "reflective veil", preferably a boosted one (if you invest more BP, more attacks will be reflected, pay Attention to the Symbols). Because of Sealticge' s Seduction, the effect of reflective veil now helps your entire Team, not only your cleric)
Since Dreisang and Steorra mostly use elemental attacks, your Team won' t be harmed, instead, the bosses will take Damage.
So all you really have to do after that is to make sure that "sealticge's seduction and reflective veil Keep working, so use those skills again and again when its necessary.
Important: Sealticge's seduction is active for a certain amount of turns, whereas "reflective veil" reflects only a certain amount of attacks! So if Dreisang uses one spell that hits three times, the counter of reflective veil will be reduced by three, not by one!
Of course you can attack those bosses as well to defeat them sooner, just make sure to keep your defense up.
I know that this strategy is kind of lame, since it makes it really easy to beat those bosses (if it' s done properly, you can't lose), however, if you are struggling that much, it might be helpful to use this method.
If you want to use it, you should battle Dreisang first. Steorra is slightly harder to break and the sorcerer skills might be helpfull to break Steorra during the fight, so you should unlock them first.
Furthermore, as far as I know, this strategy only works against those two bosses since the othe two often use non- elemental attacks which aren' t reflected by reflective veil.
I hope that I could help you! :-)

I have a question. Why do u use warbringer on Cybus? He’s a mage class, it’s better if we match up him with cleric or dancer I think

Guessing because he had the highest base elemental attack stat and you need the war bringer to equip every weapon with an element boost to get the highest possible damage when attacking with a weapon.

Multi physical attacks to trigger the follow up on all enemies, he even mentions it

Man how many hours you put in leveling up all 8 characters to nearly lv100, after lv85+ it's dreadful...
BTW keep up the nice video, loving my H'aanit op pokemon team.

ThreechTHEdruid not gonna lie, when I did my first Rune damage over 9,999 I was extremely excited. Before they were doing 2,000-6000

OhRichard Yeah so it can go above 9999? Just need more elementiksi dmg or is it with boost?

    • @OhRichard
      @OhRichard  Před 5 lety

ThreechTHEdruid usually boost will increase damage, but for rune damage it doesn't boost it. It's just purely the E.ATK stat.
