I have a cheap Ingco rotary tool kit. The rotary tool looks the same as WEN, is made from yellow plastic, and has the same problem. It is impossible to drill with it, it beats too much.

Lots of upset people because of my honest review of this tool. LOL... what most folk dont realize is that there are dozens of names on the same rotary tool, on ALIBABA anyone can place can pick a color and name and have it 'personalized' as their own product.
      Thanks for watching.

I really think you had a negative bias of the tool beforehand.
I would have liked to have seen a different drill bit tested before calling the tool defective as it might be a defective drill bit. I rarely use the bits that come with a rotary tool. I generally have had good results from the low cost Wen brand.
I bought a cheap used Wen rotary tool for $10 and it worked great for me. Of course I generally do not drill with a rotary tool but that is a valid application.
Before calling the tool bad, I'd like to have seen a replacement more thoroughly tested.
On this tool I do think the nut width would be bothersome.
Generally I do not have many problems with low cost tools because I know what I am getting. And I will and do buy low cost tools depending on the application.
I know that the two speed Harbor Freight two speed rotary tool I bought with disgust back in the day (but the coupon deal was quite good) at the lack of speed adjustment (which turned out to be a feature) ended up taking me to the moon and back with successful projects to the point that I was heart broken when it's cheap plastic gears finally gave up on a particularly difficult project!
The point being cheap doesn't always mean it's not serviceable or not good even.
Increasingly I am generally where I can avoiding Chin3se brands primarily because of their human rights problems, there increasing aggression torwards Taiwan, and the hostile actions and problems they're creating for the U.S. I don't think we can let these things skate by anymore. That's actually my big problem with this tool!
Anyway thank you for the review.
    Edit:Please wear your safety glasses!

I have purchased 3 different WEN rotary tools and all 3 have the same issue. During my career I have reviewed over 50 different rotary tools and the WEN was the only one to have this problem. When a tool is unsafe for use I will share the findings.
      Thanks for watching.
