It took GE 14 pages to explain what you did in 7-1/2 minutes. And the stupidity started on the front cover on the manual. It says," Before you begin...Record the GE Module number and password for WiFi setup. To locate this information, see page 11." Page 11 doesn't have one word of module number or password #. I downloaded the GE appliance app and the first thing I was asked to sign in. Instead of a user name, it asked me to register my SSO. I have no idea what a SSO is. Page 11 had a web page that directed me to register for a chat room. I wanted ask what SSO meant. No matter what button I pushed I was asked for 24 pesos. All these complaints don't amount to a hill of beans. What counts is that the customer is happy. One complaint negates a dozen attaboys.

    • @ryanmorley8211

Actually I realized that the hose fitting has to be cranked super tight to drain fitting inside of dehumidifier because the water was leaking out of the fitting and going right back into the dump tank. Like it had to be cranked super tight with a wrench, which is odd seeing that it not water under immense pressure or anything like that.

I too am a bit confused.
I’ve had it 3weeks in my storage room (288 sqft).
When I began the humidity read 70 on a separate meter.
I had it set up with the hose and had to empty the bucket although I installed the hose on the side. The hose was secure & hanging down properly. Not sure why the bucket was filling up for the first few days.
Question 1 : Does the bucket fill up and then the hose empties out the bucket or is the hose supposed to bypass the bucket so that the bucket stays dry?
Question 2: Now the level is 35% the bucket is dry and a little bit of water comes drips out the hose. So I’m not sure if the hose is doing the job or if it’s not working bec the level has now reached 35% and the unit is not drawing any more moisture.
Question 3: I now have it on Smart
Dry, will this turn itself on sleep mode or something so that the fan is not working constantly until the humidity goes up past 35%?

I just had the same thing happen. Connected the hose and was puzzled as the bucket was continuing to collect water as it was still spilling out the little hole on the side seen @3:34 in this video. Did you figure it out? Because this model doesn't come with a pump feature, it says on the website that draining through a hose works through gravity. I attached a hose --- but it's not draining. From examining the tank, I don't understand how the water would reach the hose. Is yours draining automatically? At what point DOES it drain?
