  • Hello Everybody, welcome back to the channel!
Today, you will learn how to make an authentic Bimbla Saaru, a delicious and healthy stew made with tree sorrel and a blend of aromatic spices. It is a comfort food with medicinal properties which is usually made at home or can be found as an accompaniment served with a meal at most Hindu temples. There are countless variations to this tangy and tasty recipe.
Watch my 88-year-old grandmother show you how to make this traditional recipe in a step-by-step tutorial from her kitchen.
The masala for this flavorful dish is made with a combination of dried red chilies, coconut, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, toor dal, asafoetida, turmeric, and jaggery.
    INGREDIENTS (serves 3-4):
4-5 Tree Sorrel (Should be large and ripe)
20-30 Grams Jaggery (Depending on taste)
    FOR MASALA:
4 Dried Red Chillies (2 Ramnad, 2 Byadgi) - Byadgi chilies impart color and flavor
    1 Tablespoon Coriander Seeds
    1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
    1/2 Teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
    2 Teaspoons Toor Dal
    1 Teaspoon Asafoetida
    1 Teaspoon Turmeric
    FOR TEMPERING:
    1.5 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
    3 Teaspoons Mustard Seeds
    2 Sprigs Curry Leaves
Thank you for watching and do follow along with this step-by-step tutorial and impress your family and friends with a taste of authentic Indian cuisine.

I agree with you, the taste is the best when we use utensils that we have been cooking in. Appearance is not always priority. I love Bapama’s kaili. Appreciate the authenticity in your videos. This is the USP of your channel.😍

Thank-you so much Bapamma for teaching us all this authentic “Devasthana Saaru” recipe. Just the Saaru recipe I was looking for. Wish bimbul was available where I live but made it today using chincham instead following all your little tips and turned out great. Thanks for this authentic amchigele video channel!🙏🏼 Look forward to many more traditional amchi recipes from Bapama.
