INGREDIENTS:
130 Grams Horse Gram (Kulitu)
1/4 Field Marrow (Magge)
1/2 Coconut Grated (Medium Sized)
Salt to taste
FOR TEMPEMRING - Upkari:
3 Red Chilles (Ramnaad)
8 Garlic Pods
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
FOR TEMPERING - Saaru
2 Red Chillies (Ramnaad)
3-4 Garlic Pods
2 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
1 Teaspoon Ghee

Again happy to meet bapamma. Todays dish horsegram saar and upkari i wanted to learn. Horsegram is goid for cholesterol also. Recently in one of his interview s our mysore prince yaduveer was asked by the interviewer which is his favourite dish and to my surprise and eagerness he replied horsegram bhaaji or huruli palya. Then i decided to know and learn it. So todays bapammas recipes i have copied. Thanks bapamma.

Saturday must. Saru made with garlic and dry red chillies.I think for animals they use the black variety.In order to get thicker saru we add little water to already cooked kulith and again boil it on the gas,the liquid thickens,then we drain. Upkari we make by just adding jeera,mustard,Curry leaves,salt haldi ,hing and chilli powder. Last we add scrapped soyi.

About 10-15 minutes, not too long. She says it smells different if you soak for too long
