Power BI Waterfall Chart Pt1 - Format options, breakdown different between 2 dates and pros and cons

  • In this video, I explain how to configure the Power BI WATERFALL CHART. I explain how it can be used in 2 different scenarios.
    1.) The first is to show a breakdown of the contribution each value within a category has towards the overall total. In this example, I use the number of work orders in the maintenance backlog broken down by the department.
    2.) The second scenario is to use the waterfall chart to show the net contribution each category has made to an increase or decrease in the total value over two time periods, weeks in this example. Again I use the number of work orders in maintenance backlog, broken down by each department's net contribution to the increase or decrease over a week.
