      Yeah, but how does she keep the squirrels from digging up the bulbs after planting in the Fall and over Winter AND the stupid rabbits from mowing the green leaves of those tulips once they start sprouting up??? Red tailed hawks in abundance overhead that we don't see in the video? Hmmm... I mean really, tulips are tough as they seem to be a critter magnet for us. Daffodils OTOH, critter indifference.

      i used this the past fall when I planted 130 tulips and it kept the squirrels from digging them up, i applied another round this spring after the thaw - little rascals then went into my planters digging so I put it there also, seems to have done the trick

    • @Bamboo4U2
      @Bamboo4U2 Před 5 lety +1

      @@jedclampett7705 , Laura has mentioned that there are tons of squirrels in the oak trees but she hasn't noticed any of them bothering her bulbs (unlike the gophers). I also haven't heard her complain about rabbits. Where I am (NJ), there are TONS of hawks to keep the rodents in check but we have pesky chipmunks that are a lot faster than you'd think.

What I really like about Russell is anytime Laura digs a hole anywhere, he has to inspect it and eventually climb into it, completely disrupting the planting process. LOL. Even when she's planting seeds in the vegetable garden, he starts to paw at whichever seed she just planted.

      I live in the Upstate New York region, and the ground is still frozen in spots (not around the Limelight, but definitely around the Little QuickFire). I’m just so nervous to prune them for fear I will do irreparable damage. They’re looking pretty scruffy though since the winds have been wicked this month, and I left last year’s blooms on for the winter. I don’t want to lose them! I do have the fertilizer, so maybe in between raindrops tomorrow, I will try to tackle pruning them. Good luck!

      By tree type do you mean grafted standards? If so, then yes!

    Very helpful video. Thank you, as always.
    Question. How do you coordinate the timing of moving a panicle hydrangea from a pot to the landscape and cutting it back. Is it OK to do both at the same time? Many thanks for your input

    Love your videos. Even when Russel tries to steal the show. Can not wait for the next one. I wish all my tulips came back this year. Looks like I lost most of them. Bloomed beautifully last spring this spring it looks like most are not coming back. The one I bought from Wal-Mart are coming back but the bulk I bought from Sam club did not, about 400 bulbs. They are all planted in the same area. So disappointed. My husband did not get to see them because he was working out of town last year and I was so looking forward to him getting to see the show this year. I want to try it again for next year but am afraid the same thing will happen if I can not figure out what I did wrong. Would love some advice on how to figure out what the problem is. Any suggestions. I would love to have my flower beds look as full and as beautiful as yours. Can not wait to see all those tulip bulbs you 2 planted blooming. So looking forward for that video and all the pictures you will be posting.
