Often times I find that with travel people don’t take the time to learn and appreciate the history of these places. It’s just so nice to see you doing just that. As a historian I relate so much to your amazement about ancient cities and cultures - I feel that deeply as well!
About how they built stuff - yes, advanced technology, but, I'm sorry to say it - slave labour. Ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece relied heavily on slave labour to build the amazing structures we still see today. There is nothing magical or super human about this, it's sad. But I think it's another reason to admire these ruins because we can think of the people who were forced into labour and often lost their lives to build the astounding buildings and honour their sacrifice by treading lightly and respectfully.

Hey Julia, I'm so so inspired by your solo travel!! I was just wondering, do you ever feel unsafe walking/hiking on your own? Do you have any advice for any potential female solo traveller's?
Hey love!! There are definitely moments I fear for my safety, but I’ve luckily never had anything happen. I would suggest to educate yourself on the area you are in and the potential of something happening. Some places in the world are a lot safer than others. I never walk alone at night unless it’s a busy street!
When I stay in hostels I try to book female dorms if they are available. I constantly share my location with 2 of my girlfriends and tell them when or if I’m doing something that is potentially more dangerous.
Also learn the word for help in the country you are in. If you are somewhere that most people don’t speak English yelling “help” won’t register for the locals. Sending love and luck on your solo travels 💛✨☺️

The statue near the phool is Lord Buddha julia. It's so heart breaking to see it in a place where people bath 😢it's just same like someone putting Jesus's photo in their shower place .... 😢
What is sacred to somebody is turned to be a decoration for others. Designer of this facility might probably proud of this work. What an ignorance!
Why is bathing any less sacred than sitting in prayer or meditation? It is such a vital part of life to cleanse oneself and to feel weightless and free in the waters. Having such an honorable and noble figure watching over these simple but so important activities makes them all the more precious.
