Hi ! I'm French and will try to answer you : Nutri-score has been created to help those who know nothing about food to eat "healthy", where "A" is for "healthy" and "e" for unhealthy. But in reality, nutri score is very controversial. It only means that your cereals is the best in the category "cereals", but ut doesn't mean that it's a "a" compared to all the food. If your plant based milk is "b" is because you might find "healthier" plant based milk. Most dietitians thinks this Nutri score is a lie : for example olive oil is "e" because there is a lot of calories, but it is very healthy.
And yes it's true, being a vegan in France is hard
I hope it helped :)
Exactly!
It results from "positive" aspects such as fruit and vegetable content, dietary fiber, protein and "negative" aspects (salt, saturated fat, sugar, energy).
Therefore, it is also possible that nuts have a poor Nutriscore, because they contain a lot of energy and fat and partly salt... That's why it is controversial, because nuts are healthy anyway :)
The nutri score was created to quicky compare the "health score" of a product in an explicit food group.
So if comparing two different kinds of cereals, it shows you which one has a greater nutritional value and is therefore rated better than similar cereals (A means really good and E really bad).
However it doesn't show the actual "healthiness" of the food and only focuses on the comparison aspect which is why a bag of rolled oats could be rated really bad and a bag of chips really good.
Very confusing but hope that helps :)
For biking discomfort, they make spandex biker shorts with padding. Because girl, I hear you! Those seats hurt! It’s hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it, but it makes that region sore! So grateful you’re sharing your amazing travel adventures with us ❤
They do help but there is a soreness - I completed the MS150 (150 miles) in two days and although I had a gel seat AND padded shorts, the pain was real! The 2nd day to finish with 75 miles, I was so scared to get on my bike, lol. It only hurt for a little while and then it went number 😂😂😂
Okay, just one thing, I'm French, and the way you say Annecy is ADORABLE !!!
You are so real Julia. I love watching your videos. And yeah, after my first three spin classes I was looking around bewildered like "Am I the only one with a sore vagina? Yeah? No? Just me? Cool." Glad to know I'm not alone!! 😂
France!!! Have a lovely day Julia!!
I have been loving this series!! So so fun😆😆💜💜
The Europe nutrition score thing is very weird to me. Some people in Europe think it's not the most effective or realistic way of promoting healthy eating. I don't even pay attention to it lol.
No such thing here in Sweden.
i love your travel vids so much, and i love seeing you happy
I'm always so happy to see a new video from you! 🥰 Love your vibes :)
Hi Julia happy Thursday afternoon and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
Scott's french is great!
Love that scott was biking 40+ km in slides! Haha! So casual. Great video :))
I had to giggle when you had that little “trip” of which you recovered so gracefully! 😅 If I do that (which I always do with flip flops!) I take a full-blown header!😅😅😅
Enjoy
Never been in France. It is definitely on my bucket list. Meanwhile I enjoy it through your videos. You just got a new subscriber!!!!
really nice vlog !
For the grade on the food, it is the nutri-score which aims at helping consumer to know which products (in supermarket) are good for their health based on the nutritional values. Unfortunatly, for the moment, this is kind of stupid because it grades oil E just because it is fat but good oil is really important... So it still needs to be improved ! For the biking I totally agree with you haha I think this is a girl problem :( For the tofu it is actually easy to find it either in organic shops or in asiatic ones !
You should have gone to Lyon also which is really beautiful (I am absolutely not biased by the fact this is my home city ;) )
Nutri-score is applied in a lot of products in Europe in general. It was introduced a couple of years ago and only takes into consideration sugars and fats. That's why olive oil has an E and products with sweeteners can be found with a A (like nesquick)... So it is overall, a limited way to label food.
We went to a nice little vegan place in Annecy in October but it's quite a walk from the old town, I don't think there was anything in the old town except for delicious sorbet. The main thing we did was shop in the markets and ate a lot of mushrooms and bread. It was good I won't lie.
❤❤❤
Just in case you didnt know. Sorbet is not always vegan by default in the EU, some countries sometimes use milk in some of them or even egg, and the Brioche /burger bun for vegetarian burgers are often made with milk. Just in case this could be interesting for you :)
Enjoy the rest of your Europe Trip.
About the Airbnb cost, are you always talking about weekly rates?
After so many years of watching you and your vlogs Juliaaa trust me when I say this, you will end up marrying Scott ♥️
Last month i was in turkey and THERE there's absolutely no vegan options, tofu or any soy products - a mystery to them, it felt like Iwas 15 years back
Okay, so nutri score (Im living in Germany) is pretty weird and even studip, i would say. Sometimes you find hummus with E and some kind of sweet "unhealthy"(like super sugary and bad stuff inside) snack or sweet with B, like most of the time not that dramatical differences, but I don´t rely on the score, well I hust don´t usually pay attention to it instead looking in the ingredients list.
Also you made me buy balsamic cream, and oh my gosh I´m obsessed, like I tried it before, but never had at home, so yeah now I´m adding it to almost anything (2 days past)....
hey Palina, I live in Germany too and the Nutri score is truly misleading. I recently discovered that it simply compares every meal/item/ingredient/etc. of a certain category, e.g. hummus with every other hummus on the market - hence the (sometimes really confusing) rating. I don't really pay attention to any Nutri score rating as long as I know 1. My body wants/needs/craves it and 2. it does't harm any living being. :)
@@nila.conzen okay, well in that case it may even make sense haha, anyway what you say is true, following your own body on this things is more important!
It is surprising a Canadian doesn't know french... surprising as an American haha maybe it's more common depending on the region/province you grew up in in Canada
I have wondered how being dyslexic is affecting your traveling. I'd imagine it's a huge challege.
you could just google the nutri score.
1st comment your vedio is the best jullia ❤plz pin me
Nutri score is super dumb here😂
