Hey friends and welcome to Crete Greece!! 🌞 This island has been my favourite place to be so far on this trip, it lights my heart up, makes me feel free, held, loved and home. Although Greek food isn't known for being vegan, I was very surprised at the selection available in restaurants. The grocery stores were a bit more difficult but with some creativity and googling many Greek words, I found my way and made many delicious vegan meals!🌀👩🏻🍳

As someone who both wants to travel but is also terrified of it, these travel videos are giving me life! You make it look so fun and free and not terrifying at all, lol!
It can be scary sometimes BUT if you set yourself up well and know your boundaries you will feel amazing and free!
For me staying in places longer is a must(moving to much is exhausting) Having a phone plan with data and calling is extremely helpful
Booking female only dorms makes me feel safe
Having a kitchen in the hostel is very useful to save money
Having a credit card to purchase things with that doesn’t have travel fees is a must
Take cash out from your bank before you leave to avoid atm charges. ( or look up the best way to use an atm to be charged the least amount in the country you’re in )

As a Greek myself, who has been devouring your content the last couple of years, I'm so overly happy and excited to see you having the tine of your life in Greece!! I hope you can someday experience the richness of northern Greece, with its mountains, lakes and traditional architecture. It's a completely different scenery from the one in Crete, and it is brought to life mostly during the winter season. There really is something for everyone in Greece, and i hope you come back to explore the diversity of this place! Sending love ❤️

There is so much great fresh fruit and veg and olives in crete. I used to bùy melon and oranges and make that cretan dish with zuchini peppers tomatoes. So cheap too

Most people speak some english in crete as tourism is main thing there
Its easiest place in europe i found. Spain and portugal is much harder.

why do you - even when you're in southern europe where there is delicious food in abundance - choose to eat such unlocal food like almond yoghurt and goji berries? i think this is a real problem that a lot of vegans are dealing with, this never-ending blissful tendency to not take the local food into consideration and to try to stay away from the imported one. it's so ignorant.
I dropped everything to backpack and let me tell you everything is a mess. I can’t take money out of my card which means I can only make online orders. So instead of a $70 ferry from Tunis to Italy, I’m paying $300 for a ticket. I can’t call my bank cause the cellphone plan I bought back home doesn’t work here. My chase account is locked and requires a security passport I forgot and needs a phone number my parents now own to log into. I’m so fucked. And going home isn’t an option.
I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this!! I would get a new phone plan that you can make calls with. It’ll be worth it to solve these problems! I had a lot of trouble with my bank and credit cards as the beginning of this trip. So I understand your struggles!
