    If you would like to adhere directly over an EPDM membrane it is suggested to use a fleeceback membrane and adhere it with a lowrise foam adhesive.

    It’s very quick when it’s an open roof like that with no curbs, pipes, or ac units

  • @johnb7122
    @johnb7122 Před 7 lety +3

    Wow I like that.. Cuts man hours though.. Since no adhesive is rolled onto the ISO board and membrane.. I also noticed no plates were lined down the seam in the field.

    • @michaelledford4751
      @michaelledford4751 Před 6 lety +1

      John B Don't worry too much about losing man hours with peel & stick single plys because they are only good for new construction where man hours are low to start with ,it's impossible to use these peel n stick systems on a pitch or asphalt roof tear off because the dust contaminates the field sheet .

      @RoofingFacts Před 5 lety

      @@michaelledford4751 I agree to an extent. The prep work gets extensive after a tear off. Unless you're putting on a thick separator such as I do with board, it can get complicated. However it can still be better than other adhered options.
      The main factor to consider shouldn't be price but resistance to uplift

    OSHA requires a hard hat as part of your personal safety equipment..Where I come from, ppl. are proud to wear their hard hats in recognition of being a professional in their trade

    • @RoofingFacts
      @RoofingFacts Před 5 lety

      Also, most EM regulated sites require a hard hat at all times EXCEPT in areas noted in the Active Hazard Analysis prior. It's good practice for commercial installers

      I was a home builder in the 90s. No hard hats. We had dangerous tools to we were professionals. This is modern bullshit EPA safety bulshit.

    Hard hats are for professional industrial and commercial roofers & Waterproofers who's company and foreman adhere to OSHA saftey guidelines , All union are required by their company to wear hard hats at all times ,even the country's largest Roofing company ( Centimark ) requires hard hats be worn at all times and they are non union ,only the least professional contractors work without hard hats .

    So this has to be hot air welded at seems? Not glued like tpo?

    • @CarlisleSynTecSystems
      @CarlisleSynTecSystems  Před 7 lety

      Correct. The SAT will stick to the insulation but the seams are heat-welded to ensure that the roof is water proof.

      Thank you & this is a very helpful video. I asked because we had some apartments roofed & the "roofers" used epdm glue, no insulation or slope. They caulked down the boots. Needless to say, it is coming apart & leaking. This is what happens when your "roofers" have no clue!

    • @CarlisleSynTecSystems

      I'm a retired roofing contractor. I'm curious as to what happened to hot mop roofing?

    • @michaelledford4751
      @michaelledford4751 Před 6 lety

      Lee Cooper as a proud member of Roofers & Waterproofers local 149 I would suggest that in the future you do NOT hire roofers from the phone book or Craigslist ,instead contact your closest Roofers Union local and ask them for contact information where you can speak with representitaves from manufacturers like Carlisle, Firestone ,Versico , Johns Manville ,Tremco ,The Garland Co etc and they will supply you with a list of certified roofing contractors in your area ,you can even have an inspector from these material manufacturers inspect the roofing while it's being installed to assure quality ,and when the job is finished the manufacturer will again send an inspector to check the finished product for even the slightest deficiency and make the contractor repair all substandard work ,if you hire a union roofing contractor it's nearly 100% certain that contractor will be manufacturer certified in all systems they install .
      On top of being a Journeyman Waterproofer for over 30 yrs im also the owner of 67 rental properties ,4 of which are apartment buildings with flat roofs ,all but 1 building I've installed TPO except 1 and that building required a Coal tar pitch 5 ply hot BUR .
