    I feel like everyone is missing the fact that the mural shows what was supposed to happen. Kratos was supposed to die, but they forged their own future so that part of the mural ended up never happening. The last prophecy has two sides which could mean that it was either side that would happen.

      I believe it's rather what the giants believed what was suppose to happen. Especially when you take what Angraboda, Gryla, and Surtr say about the prophecies about their fate. Angraboda believed that once she gave the souls of the giants to Atreus she'll disappear like she never exist from Atreus' memory because she served her purpose so there's no need for her to be in it anymore. Gryla is hard convinced that Kratos has to die and Atreus will mourn him so much that he surrenders and serves Odin. Surtr believed that he and Sinmara will die for nothing once they become Ragnarok and destroy Asguard. Even the giants in Jotenhiem believed that the prophecy has to come true. And Faye denied it because it essentially made her future husband and child canonfodder for Ragnarok to happen.

      Actually if you look at odin's death it is the same as the mural. Also the mural shows a bald man with no tattoos but every other time kratos is depicted he has his tattoos

    • @GSainto
      @GSainto Před rokem +2

      @@ezfnw in GOW 2018 the man on the mural in Jotunheim had tattoos(which were on the wrong side, so it could've been a hint), so obviously it was Kratos, the mural that had no tattoos could've easily been chalked up to the devs thinking we know it's Kratos even if the tattoos aren't showing now. Odin dying in Atreus' arms doesn't mean it was supposed to be him all along, it's what ended up happening because of Kratos and Atreus' actions.

    The final mural tells that Faye destroyed the prophecies of Kratos and Atreus to protect them, so they can make their own destiny. So what does the mural of Kratos' death mean?

    • @Redcritxx
      @Redcritxx Před rokem +32

      the norns say prophecies are made based on how people never change and what they are likely to do my guess is when kratos decided to reason with thor which is something that he wouldnt normally previously he would have just tried to kill thor because there was no other way but this time he wanted to try to be better and that altered the different outcome in the mural you see thor standing over kratos and atreus i believe if kratos were to go with the intent of killing thor he would have lost and the mural would have come true

    • @bachpham6862
      @bachpham6862 Před rokem +24

      My headcanon is that in that timeline, Kratos never sufficiently trust Atreus enough, and Atreus with self doubt never really learn how to truly grow up emotionally. Given how Atreus have found his ability to turn into animals, Atreus was enraged after seeing Kratos fighting Thor in mortal combat, and Thor might have not hold back, ready to kill Atreus because he cannot control his rage. Then, to save Atreus, Kratos intervened and took the hit to save Atreus, so he dies. Atreus then was sweet talked by Odin, promised that by helping him figuring out the secret of the world, they can find a way to ressurrect or even turn back time to save Kratos.

      I think i am onto something the one in GOW 2018's mural isn't Kratos it's Odin, as yo can they look different in ragnarok and that can be because the things we saw in jotunhiem were the things Fayr wanted us to see but the mural we saw with Angrboda was the one giants had foreseen that is why Faye destroyed Loki's shrine so they don't know what will which got them to make their own decisions and change the fate which giants had foreseen for Loki, The mural in 2018 is Faye's vision and In ragnarok is giants.

    Crazy how we are led into believing that the man on Atreus's lap is Kratos, when actually it was Odin after his soul was taken out. The "markings" on the head and face that we thought was Kratos's tattoos were actually Odin's blindfold. This game is really a masterpiece

    • @Vipinnnn17
      @Vipinnnn17 Před rokem +14

      It was Kratos only but their choices like them trusting each other, Atreus breaking the mask was what changed it, in GOW 2018's Mural you can clearly see it was Odin since he neither had those tattoos and his eye was covered which can be that because Santa Monica didn't make it clear who he was accidentally and i am talking about is rubbish but what we saw in last game was what Faye wanted us to know.

      The murals were made to deceive them, make them think their good actions will lead to Krato’s demise, but still doing them anyways. Ultimately leading to the true prophecy

    I think the most important thing to take away from here is that when people obsess over prophecy, they neglect what's in front of them. They look for answers outside of themselves rather than look inward. This theme is actually touched on in Valhalla when Kratos digs deep into his own memories to process his own inner demons. He dies over and over again, each revival unravelling a new truth.
    The norns were right about Kratos, he is the sum of his actions and nothing more, but those actions are determined by his nature and if that changes, so will his outcomes.

    The prophecy was suppose be read zig zagged. If you read the top from left to right, and then the right top corner to the bottom left it all makes sense. It was prophecies of odins death. The mistake we all made was we read it like a chapter in a book.

    And the fact the central panel of Loki and Odin has a GIANT FACE in the Wall of Asgard with a GIANT SMOKE or fire next to him
