Today is Wednesday May the 31st 2023.
I bought the 45RPM single of "Happy" way back in the Summer of Love, 1967, when I turned 13 years old on June 22nd... I still have that record, as well as the hundreds of others that I bought that year.
Approaching 69 years old next month I am glad to say that I am still... "Happy"!
    🧙‍♂️🪄🎤🎶💖🥰🌞

I saw the sunshine company perform happy live at the cow palace in Daily city California in November of 1967, on a show that was headlined by the Who, and also featured Eric Burdon and the Animals, The Everly Brothers, The Association, & Sopwith Camel.

I remember when this song hit the airwaves in Los Angeles on AM station "Boss Radio" KHJ. It made me happy. This song is technically perfect especially the harmony thanks to Mary Lorraine Nance. Sadly, she died in 2019 after a 10-year struggle with dementia. God Bless you Mary for making the world "happy".

@@vinnygormann5682 You are most welcome, and deserving of compliments, sir. I've always loved your work with those Mary Weiss-voiced mini-operas the Shangri-Las (my favorite female group) laid down with Shadow Morton...."Never Again," "Dressed in Black," and "Love You More Than Yesterday." Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during those recording sessions. So sad the Ganser twins left us all too soon. “But at my back I always hear / Time's wingéd chariot hurrying near.” Thank you, again.

I like the version of the blades of grass but the sunshine company is ok as well. I found this song finally. When I did some search I am looking for was My Happiness Is You as the title. I was 1st year high school student in 1967 when I heard this song by the blades of grass on the radio and immidiately like it. But at that time a 45 record cost a fortune in the Philippines so I was not able to buy it. By the time I had the money to buy I cant find it as it is difficult to get records of one time hit wonder like the blades of grass. Since then been looking but as mentioned earlier I got the title wrong so I can't find it in You tube. Then in one pf those days thst I sm scrolling for songs I just press Happy by the blades of grass because zI like the girl in the picture and bingo I finally heard the song again after 50 years of searching.

Did this band play their own instruments or were they vocalists with studio musicians? The instrumentation is delightfully simple I hear only drums, guitar, bass, simple percussion and a little violin. There's a good mix of instruments and vocals.
