Been pressure washing as a side job with a little 2.5gpm. Things seem to be picking up more, and been looking around to upgrade. Really been debating between this one and a simpson. Stihl chainsaw and a stihl weed eater along with a Dixie and a Kohler engine in the garage. Plus a stihl dealer about 20 mins away, pretty sure I can say I'm going with the Sthil pressure washer on a unbiased opinion.
@@4MRanch any tips on using it for the first time. because mine seems to stutter when its turned on but it sprays fine. I just dont know if anything in wrong with the engine or not
I just bought this pressure washer and noticed it's got the oil dip stick on one end and it looks like there's just an open end on the other...isn't there supposed to be a plug there?
Thinking about ordering one today. This video has been very helpful. What kind of fuel do you use in this? Is it a mix like a chainsaw? Or is this straight gasoline? I typically keep 93 octane on hand for my quads and mower.
@CannonCountry heck yeah!! That’s a bit more than I got mine but I did get it on a stihl power day sale for a discounted price. I love mine had zero issues and I use it a lot. Side note FJB hopefully he’s gone this November.
Good morning great video I’m interested in your connection for The pressure gauge and attachment could you please send me the link to Northern Tools please thanks
I just picked up my new rb800! Thanks to you I got my pressure gauge. I can't wait to use my new pressure washer on my casa and driveway! And my ol truck. Do you have a link to the 90 degree connector?
Does your pressure washer get to the 4000 psi mark ? I just recently purchased the rb 800 & a similar if not the same pressure gauge as you and can only get mine to 2500 psi. Was wondering what pressure your gauge is reading, thanks !
I can’t remember right off hand on exactly how much oil but yes you fill it through the dipstick Kole are usually just fill mine to the center of the dipstick
Thanks your a champion, Kohler also says sae 10-30 but then in climates from 10 degrees Celsius says use sae 30 so I put that in both pump and engine as I live in Australia
Excellent review. I wish more people would be as thorough as yourself. You explained things that a potential buyer would be concerned about, rather than babbling incoherently about things nobody cares about. I may be in the market for one of these to use for my landscaping company to keep equipment clean. Do you see a need for the extra power over the other Stihl models? Deciding between the 400, 600, 800. Thanks!
Thanks I appreciate it. I try to do my reviews based on what I would want to know if I where watching a product video to buy it or not. I just depends on what your wanting to wash. I went with the biggest one not necessarily for the engine power but for the 4gpm pump it puts out a lot more water making it clean faster. If your cleaning real muddy equipment or washing out skid steer tracks I’d opt for the 800.
The 800s motor is double in size of the 600 and it has one more gallon per minute of flow on the pump than the 600 so it washes faster also has 1000 more psi which isn’t that much of a deal but the 1 gallon per minute part makes a big difference on how fast you can wash something. It just depends on what application you’re wanting it for.
I have the dewalt 4000psi 3.5 gpm but I’ve always had my eye on this one. Good video with good info. I was Leary initially about it being a kohler and I don’t even know why because kohler is a good product I just was not too familiar with it. I also think it’s bulky but what commercial pressure washer isn’t. I have a trailer. I prefer non pneumatic tires not because they will get flat because of a nail but because I been having to air mine up about every 2-3 months. Not a huge deal but would prefer non pneumatic tires.
the stihl catalog is a bit nonspecific about where it is made..mentions US and China. Do you have any more info? Where is this Kohler motor made? pump is what brand and made where? thanks!
The motor should be made in USA but it’s not marked anywhere but it’s also a good chance it’s made in China since it’s the small engine side of Kohler.
Do u have a part # or link for that gauge offhand? Awesome review...i have a Troy Built thats served me well, but I’m thinking of upgrading to a professional model
This is the best RB800 video I have found. Wow! In-depth for sure!! A1, A+++++
Thanks, I appreciate you watching it.

For me I’d go with the stihl but you can’t go wrong either way. To me it’s like Ford or Chevy or Pepsi or coke. I like the stihl
just bought one this video was so helpful thank you!
Nice! Thanks
@@4MRanch any tips on using it for the first time. because mine seems to stutter when its turned on but it sprays fine. I just dont know if anything in wrong with the engine or not
Mine ran a little rough until the engine got broke in and then when I changed the oil it seem to smooth out and run good
How much was it
I got it for about $1000 but bought it during the dealer days so got a discount
Does this run ok with just standard well water? Ever have problems with not enough water pressure?
I dont know. I have rural water
Nice video. Thanks for all of the useful real world info.
No problem,Thanks for watching the video
Great review. Hey bro thanks for the review. I'm bidding for one right now in New Zealand.
After 3 years of usage.. is your original gun still working fine?
Yeah, I’ve had to change the O-rings out, but that’s the only thing

Thanks for watching the channel.
It takes just strait regular gas ( no mix )
@@4MRanch just got done ordering it. Thanks. Should have it early next week
It was $1,850 today 🤦🤦🤦
Damn Bidenomics

Did you make video #2 yet?
Yes I have demonstrated the power washer washing off the mini excavator

@@4MRanch awesome! I need that attachment that goes on the end for the wand but I'll be set then
Now they are 1600bucks! I wish I could have got mine for 1200

All the way up my gauge reads 3900
Is you throttle all the way up an unloader valve tightened all the way?
great video sir! how do you make the soap suction work well?
It really never worked well for me I just use one of those foam canisters you put on the spray wand.
How is this going for you 3+ years later?
Still good so far
How much oil goes into the engine and do I just fill up through dip stick
I can’t remember right off hand on exactly how much oil but yes you fill it through the dipstick Kole are usually just fill mine to the center of the dipstick
If you got the manual for it look in there I think it tells you
Engine holds 1.16 qts.
The pump holds 13.25oz
Thanks your a champion, Kohler also says sae 10-30 but then in climates from 10 degrees Celsius says use sae 30 so I put that in both pump and engine as I live in Australia
Yeah I just use straight 30 since that’s what goes in the pump and my lawnmower takes that too that way I don’t have to buy a different oil
Can you tell if dialing back the pressure similarly reduces the water flow rate?
I can’t really tell I don’t feel like it does. It just lowers the pressure
@@4MRanch I appreciate the response!

Thanks for the feedback. I just also learned about the Land PG series. Have you checked those out?
I’ve hear of theM. Never used one, no one has the
For sale near me.
those chinese articulated end fittings work but at 4200 psi and 4 gpm , you are not simply going to run it at 90 degrees. LOL
They seals are still holding but you definitely can’t run full power at 90 degrees it will break your arm and bend the wand
all that talking and he never fired the engine up and demoed on a surface.
