- Do you need to pressure wash your house to get rid of all the nasty dirty green and black crude off of your house? This video will show you how to clean and what products to use.
When washing your house you want to use low pressure less than 100 PSI so you dont damage your house or remove the oxidation layer on the house. Use mildly bleach solution and surfactant to apply onto the house to clean the vinyl siding. Once you let the solution sit for 5-10 minutes and not letting dry on house. Next you will use low pressure again to rinse house and remove the dirt grime away. You can either use apressure washer or the garden hose to rinse.

Good stuff!
Three additional tips: (1) wear goggles, (2) do this in the cooler portion of the day and when the sun is low or when it's overcast, and (3) thoroughly wet down all nearby vegetation with plain water first before you apply the cleaning solution; it will kill it if you don't.
You want the sun to help the solution cook. The best results are in direct sunlight.
Feed the plants water before their fed chemicals. Pre and post
@@labarbieXCJNGX Your right, your mix was a bit weak.
what is the chemical he refers to that counteracts the oxidation?
@@domwick720 he never mentions any of the products that he uses aside from pool shock.
That's some dirty vinyl siding right there. Probably hasn't been cleaned in 7 or 8 years. Good video Jason.
Thanks
thanks for watching
Great video but I’m tired of people tired of saying “sodium hypochloride” instead of bleach. It’s along the lines of someone calling salt sodium chloride.
I agree but Wait till you find out the real name of a toilet is a water closet or a sink is a Lavatory 🤣🤣🤣
@@armychris9148those are alternative names not the scientific name, little different
Oh my... this fella is absolutely hilarious and definitely informative with his videos!!! I give him thumbs 👍up definitely not a boring video thanks for this great information 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
The one thing he forgot is to recommend wearing safety glasses to protect your eyes at all times.
Yes that's true
@@kingofpressurewash what’s your setup

Jason, this is great instruction for cleaning my siding this coming Spring. Thank you for the tutorial and product information.
A telescopic lance or suitable lance to get up close would be best for putting hypo / chems on sidings like this.. This would 1) prevent overspray......... 2) apply the chems more evenly 3) Get the job done in a more efficient way...... because of the low pressure the telescopic pole ( preferably Carbon fiber ) would be a sinch / easy to control because there would be no kickback from any pressure .. shooting it up from the ground like this creates a ton of waste chems / water and also lots of overspray. which could damage other surfaces.. just my 2 cents
I just bought a pressure washer and was planning on using the pressure to do the job so I am glad I found this info so I do not make a mistake.
Yeah Pressure don’t clean. This is why we use soaps and detergents to clean vinyl siding. In fact you can do it with no Pressure Washer at all and get it Cleaner and if you did you just pressure
@@kingofpressurewash couldn’t you still use a pressure washer and just back off so it’s not blasting the siding?
No
Very informative video! Thank you for posting. We are just getting started and did a small shop yesterday. My question is: what do we need to do when some of the black stuff doesn't wash off, after two soap and rinse? We ended up using a brush to get it off, that's easy to do on areas easily reached but not the top of the house. We were using bleach and applewash.
I should have mentioned the lady that ownes the shop had never had it washed. She has owned it for 8 years and who knows how long the previous owners had it.
I love your whole set up with the nozzle and all. How can I make one like yours?
First CZcams video that felt like watching VHS. 😂 Thanks for the tips.
Nice to see someone using smooth even strokes, unlike some videos where they are all over the place.
I know I love the people that spray all over and can’t keep a smooth strokes to save their life
Its actually a way better and efficient technique to after you trace the outline of the side ur working on to just create a vertical wave and work to the other side just once if u do it right, switch to water n rinse and its fully clean. The way he does it doesn't hit undef the bottom lip of the siding.
My guys soft wash it and they use a soft cloth on an extension pole. Both together, beautiful and so clean
Good to know! sounds like a lot of work
@@kingofpressurewash Actually its really easy and quick☺
cleaning is so satisfying

Spray patterns should be from top to bottom. Not the other way around. Especially when you have a clapboard pattern to follow. But he seems to know everything about everything.

Pool Essentials chlorine liquid, 4 bucks per gallon. Home Depot, comes in 4 1 gallon cases. Good luck with your business. 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
Pool essentials for the house?
@@soothingsensations3374 Yes, the main chemical you want to look for is sodium hypochlorite. This is what kills the organic material on the house like algae or mildew. Just make sure you rinse thoroughly and rinse any plants or greenery you have as well because you want to avoid the chemical drying.
“This will make the wife happy and that’s what we want” sir, how did you know the reason behind me watching this video?
Thank for the video buying a house this month that needs a good pressure wash.
Once Jason, thanks once again for your time and skills. We appreciate you
My pleasure! Thanks for watching
This is an amazing video it truly breaks down what takes place during pressure washing / soft washing business. The problem that I have with this video is that when you have a business it is very hard to convince someone to hire you as a contractor to clean their home or sidewalks and charge them about $1,000 if not more when all they have to do is watch this video. I am a small business owner here down south where the business is booming and the industry is flooded. unfortunately when people see how easy it truly is to clean a home it's hard to keep the business going when they can pretty much do everything you can do and just pay less. Awesome video just keep in mind that if you own a business in the soft wash / pressure washing industry this is pretty much hurting your own business because your potential future clients can simply watch these videos and learn how to clean their own home without paying the high price that is charged.
Its ok they dont have u tube
Lol always think of yourself first
That "all black" took me out 😂😂
You should mention that down low, angle upward to get the bottom of the slats so they aren't still green when you get done. Other than that, its pretty much how i get rid of mildew and mosses.
Yes that true
That was a really good tutorial. Thank you for posting.
Any danger of getting the chemical and water in that attic vent?
So satisfying.....Great video bc you get right to the point and give super helpful tips!!

Hey brother found your videos today. Love them and I am very grateful for all the information. I hope to have my business going soon.
Awesome let me know if you need anything
I use a floor broom with soft bristles, tote with some car wash and wax. Long extension handle. Does a good enough job, better results after or on a rainy day. Rinse with the water hose. Just bought a pressure washer but will probably still use the broom.
I might add a little Bleach White like when I do the bathroom floor. Car wash/wax on that too.
That sounds like way to much work for me
Thanks for your time and showing your knowledge in this video

Always use a ladder. The siding can let in water when you spray it from the ground. Always spray with a downward angle
NEVER USE A LADDER.
Very helpful. Just getting ready to do our house.
Glad it was helpful!
Lots of guys use dawn mix and no issues
Pump up sprayer. Pool shock and dawn liquid soap. Spray on. Let sit . Hose off.
Yep you're right
Hi, Jason. Would you recommend that I clean asbestos shingles (siding) similarly? If not, what would you recommend? Eventually, I'd like to remove the asbestos shingles, but my house is over 130 years old and I'm unsure how it looks under it. However, one side of my house (facing closely to a neighbor's house) has the original wood siding, that looks in phenomenal condition. So, perhaps one day I'll consider it.
That initial blast lol it gets me to every now an then to. I like that tip it’s got a great flow but I mostly use black tip on a 48” lance an a pink tip on the gun for higher areas an rinse

Always man you make great videos
What tip is he using?
Bucket w car wash soap and a brush.
Works on PvC fences also.

What tip are you using? Also what process are you using to apply, downstream or 12 volt?
Downstream

Question:
When I clean any surface, I use a brush, rag, or sponge. For example, when I wash my car (or car wash), I wet the surface with water, I apply soap with a soft brush, rag or sponge, and then rinse the soap, dirt, and grin off the car.
---
How is it that a soft brush, rag, or sponge is not used to clean the surfaces of the siding of a house to remove the dirt, grin, etc. off the house surfaces?
---
As a homeowner (consumer), I want to be knowledgeable enough to select a contractor who will not damage my house. Educating the consumer of products/services if very beneficial for all.

Thank you.
Good Job on giving clear instructions
Thanks just trying to help people
Thank you my friend!! Applied all you said and thinks worked out well.
How much soap do you mix with the pool shock in a 2 gal sprayer?? Thanks for the videos!!
Dan's vlog has a good video on that. Hes in the housewashing/lawn care business. I'd tell ya the exact mixture, but it's been a while since I've watched the video.

Happy wife, happy life. Happy spouse, happy house!
I have used bleach and water with dish soap
Yep that will work
Thanks for all the great content. Are there any health effects from using the bleach? As far breathing it in or getting in the eyes when it’s misting in the air?
it best not to get on you. When down streamed its less than 1%.. With roof cleaning you defently want to wear a mask to keep from breathing it
Thank you sir I owe you a bucket of beer👍 appreciate all the knowledge.
Hey thanks for watching
Good job brother thank you
Whats the health risks form spraying with chemicals and having all of that come back at you
At this ratio close to jumping into a pool
@@kingofpressurewash it definitely has to be a lot higher concentration because if you wear a shirt in the pool or shorts they won’t get stained if your pressure washing they will

Great video instruction. I don't understand how I would change tips on wand if the only my black tip draws soap?
Great details, thank you.

I have white vinyl siding, I've seen white come off the siding when pressure washing. Is this normal and ok to continue?.
Great Job!
You really know your stuff. How much do you average per home,(1 story vs 2 story).
A one story versus a two-story really don't make no difference. I can actually clean a two-story faster than I can clean a one story.
You did a great job
Thanks for watching let me know if you have any questions
That’s actually pretty dam good.
You did such a great job
I see companies having a second guy using a second pressure washer to hit vegetation the entire time they are down streaming. If I only have one pressure washer could I soak it all with jrod switch over to my sh then switch back to water and continue hitting the shrubs? Or can I have someone just rinse everything with a garden hose?
yes and if your downstreaming you not going to be a hot mix
Thanks for the video

Great video Jason!
Do you have a Home Depot in your area there’s a green bottle it’s usually around in the paint section for cleaning siding they have the white bottle which is for cleaning my gutters this stuff works excellent excellent lately I’ve used it several times you just hook your hose to it and spray it on let it sit for a few minutes not dry completely and then hose it off unless you really have a Lotta Lotta mildew you never even had to put a brush on it and it’s very safe to use
Yeah it has the main ingredient of sodium hypochlorite in it
I would do that for free if I ever saw something that bad. In a high arid desert, you just don't see this at all. No mildew, alge, and very little mold. I want to get into pressure washing as a supplement to my other businesses but there doesn't seem to be much need.
If 3% of 10% of SH mix safe on window’s? And will it kill plant’s? Please and thank you 🙏
Would that not kill all the grass around the house?
Nope because we are down streaming and we're only using about one to one and a half percent chemical the rest water
How much solution can you make with a gallon bleach and how much soap you mix to a gallon of bleach???
How can you be sure that the customers paint wont fall off due to the chlorine?
Can you use this stuff in cooler weather
What if there are windows on the side of the house?
Just clean it as normal
So a gallon of water…add how much pool shock….and you add liquid laundry soap ? How much ? Thx !
Does the pool shock kill the grass/plants around the house???
If you use the wrong mixture it will.
what do you recommend would be the best soaps to use if you are doing house siding?
sodium hypochlorite at 1-1.5 percent
Any concerns on the pool shock killing the grass?
Yes it will
How do you clean siding if it's a hot sunny day? Just be faster?
One side at a time
Pool shock and what else?
Very good information thank you 😊
Great info great video thank you
Awesome video sir thanks 🙏!!
Thanks for watching man
Will this solution kill grass when rinsing?
That’s what I wanna know, exactly the first I thought
low pressure thats why i like electric prssure washers
Jason, I was under the impression that the "bleach" solution is sodium hypochlorite. Is sodium hypochloride something different? Pool shock is sodium hypochlorite, which is what I’m using. Am I using the wrong stuff? Also, I’ve been using Dawn dish detergent. How exactly does it "fight the sodium hypochlorite/hypochloride?’ I have seen no ill effects from it. Not that I’m aware of anyway. With all due respect sir, I am not trying to be a jerk here, but you are offering instructional content. You are the teacher. Thank you.
Chip Mohan you are using the correct solution. If you live in the United States, I suggest Pressure Tek soap Elemonator for your soap. Great surfactant.
Yes you are right. I should not have said hypochroride
So you are using the right stuff.
Is it OK to mix bleach and Dawn?
Read the back of the Dawn (or other dish soap) bottle. Some varieties of Dawn say nothing about bleach -- these are OK to mix. There is at least one (blue) that specifically says "Do Not Mix With Bleach." This one is not safe.
Bill Sullivan I just tried to get that it says “not legal for sale in California” why is that
Jay Charles cause nothing is legal in California
Power Washing haha god dammit
Ok do you shake the pool shock and water ?
Great video. Where to get that nozzle and tip set up sir?
Super great video, thank you so much for your help,
You have a new subscriber,
I should find you first, the other on the tube did not know much and because I use pure Clorox and pressure now the siding is all oxidation,
Did you think paint over will help to cover the oxidation?
Thank you
Do you have a link to your soaping nozzle?
Another useful video Jason. But don't u have to cover and tape down that electric power meter first?
You can but I’ve never done it all the years I’ve been cleaning
it gets wet every time it rains. Just don't use too much pressure on it and it will be fine
Nice info Jason!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for good information thanks so much.
Will a xjet have same results?
Yes it will
Hey what's going on Jason! I have a quick question,#1. what's the total cost of all the equipment you use to wash the house and,#2 will all the equipments fit in a car because I don't own a truck or a van, #3. Is the business profitable? Can you and/or the business make millions if you work very hard
You could buy enough equipment that will go in the back of a car to get started. All you really need is a pressure washer and hose and a downstream injector
@@kingofpressurewash only problem w/a car is,when transporting a power washer,it runs way too hot to put it back in the car when your done a job. You would have to let it sit over an hour in the summer for it to completely cool off. Otherwise you chance melting parts of your trunk or back of car.
What about the grass benath?
It’ll be fine
what solution did you apply?
Sodium hypochlorite
So I need a pressure washer with a water tank? Basically mine i just hook my waterhose into, will this not work?
It can still work just fine
