That little chubby girl is one hell of an actress. I’ve been watching the propaganda from New DPRK and if I didn’t know any better I’m sure I would fall for her sweetness and think the DPRK is doing fine. She’s captivating.
North Korea is getting more and more clever about how they manipulate the Western world which is why these videos explaining the truth are so important.

I've been on the N Korea/China border and seen what the regime won't show you. On the Chinese side people were having a blast as there was a carnival on the frozen Yalu River with fairground rides, caramelised fruit and everyone in their new clothes for the Spring Festival. On the N Korean side women were collecting water from a hole in the frozen river. The temperature was well below OC and they were wearing thin grey clothes. Behind them were rows of tiny grim houses and ox wagons carrying fuelwood. Complete contrast.

The people that have had to endure the worst struggles, or been in the worst of poverty or dire situations, are forever changed because they needed to adapt just to survive. After that, these people hold some advantages over those who have never had to struggle, or never been without their basic human needs met. Much respect to you, Yeonmi- thank you for illuminating these issues and the struggles that many people face.

On one of your videos--- one of the first ones I watched--- there was a picture of a N. Korean man in a suit holding some grass in his hand and staring intently as he decided- presumably which clod of grass and dirt would be the most nutritious to supplement his diet or whatever he was thinking...
...it's definitely not the only haunting picture in your videos, but that picture and the expression on that man's face haunts me.

So they are trying to show off the most elite NK has to offer and portraying it as this the everyday normal thing for everyone. It's good that we have an insight to the real reality over there.

What is the life of these children? I simply cannot get over the talent and precision in which they perform. Of course, there are many very talented adults as well but that is not unusual. But, everything is performed with precision and completely synchronized - absolutely no room for individuality. I would love to know more about music in North Korea. Thank you and blessings, karen

Closing was a big finale which was impressive. I must say, I really enjoyed it. I watched the handsome young conductor and hoped he hadn't been blown to bits. It appears that music is an important tool in the regimes play book. I would love you to cover that.
