      @@simmerproductions9359 That simply is not true, or you never read Marx or you are just ignorant, it is in Marx writhing that farmers and Borguase are in servitude of the working class, this is why famine in Ukraine was accepted and 8 mill farmers die. Also, Marx wrote, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs". Simply put if you are capable to do something, you need to work for somebody who is not. I will tell you how was done in practice this rule in my home country of former Yugoslavia. When somebody has a business, the government took it from owners and say to them, you are capable to run the business so you must work as before when you are been business owner, but you will have the same salary as an ordinary worker, first, you will need to sign in a party if not when you will do something wrong will be your responsibility if you will be in the party then OK. Naturally, the business owner didn't spend all days working as before for nothing. Farmers were taken farms in collective (zadruga) run buy party members and all tractors bought with great efforts from some farmers, were just for everybody to use. Just previous owners need to care for them meanwhile all people could take tractors and they destroy them really quickly. Soon nobody didn't take care of anything, similar as in democratic cities in the USA. it was another socialist leftist story elites (working class) were in total control and enjoyed the good life and all others were drunk from alcohol. In the end, we have the Balkan war.

    When you showed the picture of the shop with empty shelves it reminded me of Estonia in 1990 before it got out of the Soviet Union. There was a big shopping center but inside it the huge hall was almost empty. The that put the desks from corner to corner in one direction. Behind the desks were 10 women, but all that they had to sell put together was 5 pieces of bread and 10 pieces of meat/fat - and that was all! If you visit the same shopping center today there are 10 shops and all of them are filled with goods. This is the difference between communism and capitalism.

But in 1991 Estonia already had got so much taste of a life in freedom through visits in the West, that they decided to leave the Soviet Union no matter the cost, and in 1992 they succeeded together with the two other Baltic countries to take down the entire Soviet Union. People could not buy a car. I they had the money (very few had), they could order a car and then had to wait for months or years before they got it. There have been claims that a certain other self-promoting North Korean defector has also been inconsistent with parts of her own story, but, unlike the author of "Escape from Camp 14", has yet to admit it.

Such questioning is not an attempted defence of North Korea, but a wish to get at the uncontaminated truth. There's more than one free country (just so you know) but I "think" the reason is this: if someone were to happen to North Korea, such as the demise of their corrupt regime, China would be responsible for the North Koreans (for some reason.) This is why China doesn't interfere with North Korea and deports refugees back to North Korea. The Koreas (North and South) are still at war so the responsibly falls into China's hands.
      This is a problem because if another country were to get involved to free North Korea (the USA for example) China would fight back so they won't have to deal with North Korea. To better understand this, from China's point of view it's like a failing business like Sears (North Korea) and a successful company like Amazon (China). If something were to happen to Sears then Amazon would be responsible for either rebuilding Sears, taking in their employees (and continue to pay them) or be forced to by the brand out of pocket, making it harder for Amazon to stay afloat.

      If it was simply a war between North Korea and the United States, the USA would definitely win. However, you need to take into account the other countries. If we went to war, China would not sit idle and watch. What would Russia do? There would be lots of people here who would oppose our invading of another country, saying we should mind our own business. There's lots of other reasons too.

    I was wondering about the freedom of movement in NK:
    When moving from place to place in the same town, are there designated routes? Does the government know where you should be along your route at any particular time? Are you allowed to take a shortcut or go the scenic route? What if you get lost or have to turn back or if your route is blocked?

From Amazon research, It seems one is large printed whereas the other is not. I was just curious as to if there is any difference between the two offerings in reference to it being the same story of if the two differ in some way. I mainly want to know if there's any text differences other than text size between the two. If you can have time to answer this, I greatly appreciate the time. Love you Yeonmi, and I wish you nothing but the best.

    It's so striking that everyone should hate the Kim's yet they still remain in power. It's like some inherent human flaw we can't escape, it's only one boy! You've said before that you can't know better if you've only lived under their rule, makes sense when you know nothing else. Is the solution freedom of information? Even then you still have China and Russia to deal with.

    One would think deception of the regime is obvious but I have still come across people encouraging tourists to go there and see for themselves. It would be interesting to know your take on the controlled tours in North Korea, as I was always under the impression of them being unethical, given that probably no tourism profits go back to the people and they're being used to feed the regime instead. I would love to know what you think about that from your perspective.

    • @davidgordon702
      @davidgordon702 Před 2 lety

      I have thought the same exact thing. You are right though, absolutely none of the profits that are made from tourists visiting their country, are spent on the starving population. Just that fact alone, is total bull - shit. You have around twenty five million or so people. And about twenty million of them are starving, and living in complete slums. All of that money, goes back to the regime. More ominously though, most of it, goes towards their nuclear weapons program...
