Dating in India is like
First girl becomes girlfriend, does sex with consent and then files false rape case
Now court gives man 2 options
1 either settle outside by paying her hugh amount
2 or fight false cases for 7 years
Man's life wasted in this process, girl can move on.
Also there is no punishment for women in India
I missed those twins of yours!
One reason i like this channel is how it reveals how priviledged Americans are. Same people who claim to be oppressed... the lgbtq is oppressed?? Blacks are oppressed? Women are oppressed?? No one in america is oppressed, there is oppression in Africa where i migrated from, there's oppression in north Korea and in arab nations women do not have the freedom that American women get to enjoy. I think the people in America who claim oppression, should be thankful they are living in such a great country, and quit being victims! Its ridiculous
@I bats ? Lol !
You like india
I totally understand your hesitancy with western dating. Iâm very lucky to have married an amazing partner, and I know if anything happened to them I probably wouldnât break back into the dating scene. The mind games and other such stress that comes from dating/trying to find someone else is definitely hard. Also, so much choice. The world is so connected and so many options itâs daunting. Good luck!
I canât imagine what it would be like to start dating again at my age, I never was much good at it. Iâll be with my wife until the end, and if God wills that I survive her I would be looking for a companion not a romantic relationship.
Yeah but your context is still âdating exists.â Whether or not you were a part of it.
@@OwenGilmoreOG thatâs nice. Can we go back to focusing on her story now?
If your story were in any way comparable to hers, fine, but youâre literally describing the exact opposite of her life, with a lowkey hint about how your wife is going to one day die and here is what youâll want after sheâs gone. Jesus. Find a relevant platform for this .for gods sakeâŠ
@@BeckBeckGo I was replying to the commenterâs observation, not to Yeonmi. And I relate to her comment. I must have missed the memo where you were appointed the comments moderator. Sheesh đ get over yourself.
@@BeckBeckGo how do you not know how CZcams works?.... self absorbed brat.
Yeonmi, you truly are a beacon of hope for so many young people, and those who want to be educated about our humanity. Every time I watch these videos, Iâm just captivated by how bright and coherent you are. Highly logical and realistic. Keep going !!
I wish that American whining lefties would listen to this woman. Her work is a blessing to us all. If you lefties think it's rough here in America listen to this woman Miss Park knows from where she came. She is an exemplary citizen. I am so glad she has made her home in the USA. We need more people like Miss Park. So all of you whiners take a look at what true repression really is.
@@hollyzemlicka538 I think thereâs a big difference between expressing your opinion and advocating for social overhaul.
@@tamaramorton8812 not for liberals,,,,if they state it,,,they want overhaul to their position
@@hollyzemlicka538 holly-are you really saying we should be glad for the shi we have because others have it worse?
Such a bad comparison here.
The amount of pain this man has caused to his people is truely extraordinary, I don't want to know anything about him but I'm glad you are giving awareness to this issue and hopefully the dictatorship will collapse soon.
It will collapse for sure, but question is: what after that? My country lived for 45 years under Yugoslavian communist regime that was known as most liberal and most opened communist regime in the world and still we have difficulties to adapt to western way of life. So much heritage of communism still lives in our mentality and ruins our country; like corruption, nepotism, etc. North Korea will have very hard time to adapt on South Korean capitalist system once this regime fall. It will be like slaves that gained freedom but don't know what to do with it
The most important thing when it comes to western dating is, that you stay faithful to yourself. You don't need to give up all of your own values to integrate yourself. In western culture there are enough people who don't like to hook up and are serious, careful and thoughtful when it comes to dating. Those people are just a bit harder to find.
Great advise.
Wow, thank you for all this information. Many people know about the cruelty of the North Korean regime's camps and punishments but not how widespread the oppression is, from the smallest things like illegal items of clothing to the vicious caste system and no romance. Truly, if there is a Hell, it is North Korea. Thank you for speaking out about all this!
Can you talk more about the different casts? i didn't realize there was 51 casts. It would be interesting to understand them in greater detail.
The 51 casts are divided in 3 classes. The loyal, wavering and hostile classes. The lowest casts in the hostile group are most likely the poor unfortunate souls in the concentration camps. You can't move up the casts, but you can fall down (ex: marriage, getting caught criticizing the regime etc). The loyal class are the only ones allowed to live in Pyongyang, the capitol. This class is descended from loyal citizens, mostly peasants, who fought on the side of communism and North Korea in the Korea War. Most generals, scientists, athletes, government officials etc are part of this class. The wavering class are descended from average citizens or peasants who did not partake in the war or otherwise did not choose a side. They make up the majority of the North Korea and tend to be soldiers, factory workers and other trades. The hostile class is descended from known landowners, capitalists, Christians, South Korean soldiers etc before the war. Some of them are poor starving farmers and others live in cities with low ranking jobs that pay little. Yeonmi's grandfather was a landowner so she was part of this class. She lived in Hyesan. Her father was smart enough to trade metals and other goods, so her family was secretly better off than the others in her neighborhood and they had more food until her father was arrested.
Your story is tragic and amazing. I have so much respect for you. This is my favorite new channel on CZcams and I've already shared it with 8 of my friends. God-bless you and the stories that you tell and keep telling them, we have a lot of fools in this country that need to know. Need to know. Thank you so much for being you.
How sad. My wife and I met and married while serving in the Marine Corps. I was 22 and she was 20! We never thought anything was odd about our relationship. Well, during duty hours I did outrank her and she had to call me Corporal! Otherwise, we were two young people who met, fell in love, got married and went on to live very good, happy lives.
It could actually be fun or embarrassing!
I was with 3rd Amtracs and she was with HQ Co H&S In at Division. One summer her group was gonna go out to the field. Just my luck, her group was assigned to my platoon. I was giving the Ops Safety Briefing, when done I asked, "Any questions?". Her hand went up so I called on her. She said, " Sgt Quintana, I love you!?"
@@philquintana3576 what did you say to her after she said " I love you?".
@@carochan86 Before we married I said, "I love you too, Private First Class Baeza". JUST FUNNIN'! After we married I said, "I love you too Lance Corporal Quintana". JUST FUNNIN' AGAIN!! Before and after, I just said, "I love you too". I've been saying that for 43 years now and I mean it more than the day we married.

You are, and by far, my top source of information regarding the North Korean reality/culture/regime, ect. Thank you for your incredible work! :)
Love you girl you're a true voice for human rights violations of North Korea! Don't give up and don't feel defeated every video is an opportunity to reach someone new and enlighten them!
I saw the TED talk you did quite a long time ago and then stumbled upon your channel just recently. Iâve been watching a lot of your videos recently since I have rediscovered you. I really love how open, honest, and accepting you are of all sorts of people and for sharing all this information about North Korea that I would otherwise have no idea since information from there is limited since most of the time we are only getting information about the area from people who do not or have not resided there. Itâs really interesting to hear about the daily life and culture of North Korea and see how it differs from my culture as a citizen in America. Thank you again for all your commentary on NK and US, hope to see more!

Hi Yeonmi, Thank you for telling us your stories. I love them! I am reading your book and it is amazing. Keep doing what your doing!
That video was interesting. I like how you speak. I just got your book "In Order to Live" yesterday in the mail. I can't wait to read it. You are an inspiration to everyone. Keep up the great work!!
You are a true warrior... Keep going...
Good breakdown
This is so interesting. I actually never knew in N.K they also have proper, set caste system. I don't even think that people in N.K would actually think about romance and love due to the multiple hardships and human necessities taken away from them. Sadly, they are not allowed to be human and express their true emotions. đ
Didnât the Soviet Union and does China have party members, etc.?
on the other hand,,,it wasnt taken away from them,,,,they never had freedom in the first place,,,they have no idea what freedom really is,,,,,thats why she was soooo shocked in coming here
@@aycc-nbh7289 I think in both the Soviet Union and China you could marry up. Not sure though.
I have relatives in China, and yes, you can definitely marry up.

Wow. That was so interesting. Thanks for sharing that with us.
Thanks for making these videos.they are very informative as well as interesting.

I can not imagine how difficult it must have been/must be to learn about American culture and adjust! I have so much admiration and respect for not only your strength, intelligence, and passion for human rights, but even your willingness to explore a whole new culture and find a way to make it feel comfortable to you is incredible.
you are a very brave girl ... lots of love and strength to you..

Keep talking and never gave up!
Dear Yeonmi, you are one of highly important persons in the world. Your message is timeless. Your message is priceless. I bow to you. And I am grateful for the real person you are.
When I listen to you and watching your interviews with other defectors, I am always in awe how people overcome the horror of evil.
Please, Yeonmi, never stop. You destroy evil in its core. Even if you don't see immediet change - the change is there and it is very powerful. Because of your simple common sence. It is as simple and deep as that.
Thank you, Yeonmiâ€
Yeomi, I always love seeing your videos. Always very informative and well detail oriented. Thank you so much. Happy Valentines Day. Hope you have a wonderful one.
Very interesting!
Yeonmi!!! Please do a video of north Korean daily life like your past daily life what exactly you did when you wake up to when you go to sleep!
I'm loving the discussion happening in the comment section. I personally do not like online dating and wish there was more face-to-face. I would try and put myself out there to guys I liked in my personal life, but of course, they weren't interested! With western dating, there are so many options, and the quote "plenty of fish in the sea" and I think there's definitely some anxiety to it, for sure. Love your videos Yeonmi! And I agree with one of the comments down below: just continue to be yourself and know what YOU want. đ
I love your channel I would love for you to do a video on what life is like for a pregnant woman in North Korea like do they get checkups is food still hard for them to get do they still work and when child birth is due do they get to go to the hospital. Iâm not sure if you covered it In an older video but I would love to learn about it
Superrrb Awesome Fantastic video
CRASH LANDING ON YOU ?????? I had to laugh when I saw the photo you used for this video. I love that series and have seen it twice. I have started watching a lot of Korean movies and series. Hometown Cha Cha Cha was very good too. So many good ones to choose from. I have a long list that I must watch. I will watch this video now too. Thank you for everything you do !!!!!
Wish u stay healthy and thanks for sharingđ..
I'm a refugee from the Soviet Union. Although I was young, some things are burned into my memory. The drunks, the poverty, the overgrown grass. The unhappiness. And now people want that again! "They were doing it wrong, we'll do it the right way." WHY do people not learn? It makes me straight-up sad. And worried.
And I love people, too! But they're making it real hard to love them, the way they're behaving. It's not even politics! Screw politics, it's just... Why? Will people ever learn? Why are they so... Just, why?
That being said, it's always so nice to see somebody that knows the world. Thank you.
Educative with moral lesson too
This was so informative! I also really enjoy the clearer & simpler mentality when it comes to romance, of North Korean people. When you have too many options - you can't choose anything. You become increasingly picky & confused, trying to make the best possible choice.
Then move to NK.
Keep up the good work.be safe dear.đđč
Your so amazinggggg
Good morning
Yeonmi i am full of addmiration for you telling the World
how people are controlled in North Korea, i pass your name on
to friends so that they know how people can be cruelly treated.
I will continue to spread the word ...i salute you Yeonmi take care x

I love your channel I wish north Koreans could see how beautifully the real world is x I hope one day north Korea can find peace and love x
Edit: love and support from England đŹđ§ x
Interesting đ€đ
Thank you for your educating me. I wish people of North Korea could speak with more people and more completely explore friendships and romantic connections.
I work with startups and have seen more entrepreneurs want to build apps that connect people since Covid hit. Itâs mind boggling to me that we have all this tech, but still feel incredibly lonely. Personally, I think weâre going the wrong direction and it will only get worse. But do get ready for dating in the MetaVerse. People donât feel free to be themselves in person anymore.
You are so right about sexuality as well. Weâve made it so confusing and it only creates more anxiety and lack of clarity when two people finally meet up.
Itâs just too much. Maybe North Korea has a few things we can learn from. Thank you for sharing.
I donât watch many videos on you tube, but I love watching your videos. I can feel the nightmare people live with in North Korea through listening to you. You are truly beautiful inside and out. You are the perfect voice for all others trapped in The hell of N Korea.. I only wish everyone else in North Korea could escape as well.
You are amazing. I would be honored to date you. I love listening to your experiences. Really eye opening. Thanks for posting your great videos Yeonmi.
Thank you for the insightful video! One small suggestion, a timestamp per reason would be nice,
I wish here we would revert and focus more on values and normal dating. The vast majority of people don't want a partner who has been with the whole town.
You are so beautiful!! I wish the very best for you Yeonmi, x
I remember you telling us about there is no concept of or word for love in NK except for love for the leaders. That broke my heart. I've been in love with South Korea for years. I'm preparing to go there very soon. I hope I find a loving, sweet, beautiful, intelligent, funny, strong and amazing woman and we fall so deep in love we both glow. đâ„ïž
Love your content, and I wish the best for you. It's not the case anymore, but it used to be traditionally in America that marriage was meant to be a life commitment, and sex was reserved for marriage. Because of this, families once were very strong. Not anymore, sadly. There are so many children without fathers as a result, and it's a big cultural problem for us. In fact, it's strange that as hookup culture becomes stronger, the idea of love is itself fading. In this way, we are actually becoming culturally more like North Korea.
Thank you for your video. It was really interesting. I wanna do something to improve my country. You see, I'm from Africa and when some people think of Africa they most think about poverty and rudeness. I would like people to think about it as well as European countries. Thanks!
I LOVE CRASH LANDING ON YOU!! SUCH AS CUTE SHOW!! đ„°đ„°
The communication differences are wild! Who would have known just how different it is.
Your channel is extremely interesting. I hope that one day, North Koreans can be freed. I'm curious as to what marriage in North Korea is like. When a couple gets married, is any kind of ceremony allowed or is that only for the elites? Does the government check to make sure that people are married? What if someone becomes widowed? Are they forced to remarry? I'd be really interested in hearing about these things.
Ur so beautiful n so blessed happy ur safe nowâ€ïžđ„°

I'd love to see a video of what was your very first impressions of the western world when you arrived...!

Ahh so sad and sweet at the same time. Especially conveyed from such a beauty.

Spent the evening going through your channel and some other testimonies about North Korea. Realized I haden't heard so much testimonies from defectors from NK before. I think what you've achieved is really impressive. Then I heard about Columbia U. Why, I wondered, speak with Peterson ? Is he really the only one who listened ? Despite the looks, he's not what I'd call a freedom advocate at all... This is only my opinion though. May I wish for these scars to heal eventually.
Restaraunts and online dating is nice, but my favorite dates have always been late night walks with people I met in person from the same town. In North Korea, because there's no electricity I bet the stars look amazing on those walks! Too bad there's no romance though, with love you can get through anything with someone you love.
Your stories are so interesting but so sad too. I followed Otto Warmbier's case, the American guy who was accused and imprisoned for stealing, even if it seems not to be the like, a propaganda poster from the hotel where he was staying. After many years he was repatriated, dying in vegetative state and passed away a few days later.
I think she made a video on him as well. đ€
I don't remember if some of the videos I watched were by her.
hey love
Oh girl, the key is that even though you can date anybody, you really shouldnât. You should experiment and find a type, figure what you do and donât like in a person and go from their. Dating in the western world is very complicated if you let it overwhelm you itâs true but just have fun, thatâs the best part of living in a free world. đ
Happy Valentines day.đ
