  • I decided now the time was ready to start the layout expansion so last week all stock was removed from the layout and today a start was made fitting a raised level double track main line.
The boards are not finished yet but enough to lay some track on to test.
Over the fiddle yard will be a 4 platform station with two through lines and two bays which will allow trains to return to the lower level without needing a reverse loop.

You worried me there for a second - I thought it was another price hike! The layout is looking good - I like it! So jealous of the space you have available...!

Great, love a bit of elevation. Wasn't expecting it but it looks brilliant with just this. Keep at it. :D

All running very smootly. The expanded layout weakens the argument you previously used that you didn't have enough room for OO gauge! Perhaps it is just the TT is your thing? Thanks for uploading.

The argument still stands lol. If it was 00 there would be very little, if any, space to go upwards. When this was my 3mm layout an upper level single track terminus was always intended but not the space to look right if continuous, here a 6 coach train can easily fit on any of the 4 sides on the upper level.

could you do a side by side of the HOm and tt120 track for a comparison please?

Impressive. But what is the black steam loco? Hornby haven’t produced a TT one of these as yet.

It is not black but the very early dark blue (purple) experimental livery. It is the Hornby A1 I have repainted.
I have many locos that Hornby have not made yet, mostly on a Hornby chassis. To na me a few, B12, Stanier 2-6-4, Spam can, A2, Britannia plus many, many more.

      Thank you.
All low level trackwork is Peco H0m, the upper level is Hornby 120, but, later the station area and all pointwork will again be Peco H0m.
If it was not for the tight curves it would all be Peco H0m.

Most definitely, I have a few on pre-order since about Feb 2023 for various projects.
