Favorite Cecil homerun wasn't the centerfield second deck homers at Tiger Stadium or the one he hit completely out of Milwaukee County.
It was the one he hit at Yankee Stadium the day Steinbrenner was kicked out of baseball for the second time. After the news broke in the stadium and the crowd gave a standing ovation of approval (we were tired of George at that point) Cecil hits a porch job. It summed up how far George had fallen and the team needed better leadership and at the end the dynasty was born that day. Then Cecil winds up a yankee in the middle of the 96 season.

The Fielder thing always makes me sad considering how Cecil was a piece of shit. Prince wanted so badly to surpass Cecil so people would stop saying that he only got a shot due to being the son of a ballplayer.

    Also me: 🤭🫵🏼
    I have one for you…
My grandpa was blah blah blah and my whole life I always knew his World Title belt was in the landfill or some old lady in Metairie’s closet. So last year I saw on eBay the Awarded Belt of the man that beat him on sale from the British Museum. It said on belt who and how Jose Torres won. For the small $300. I bought it.. and unintentionally 3 months after ordering it, it shows up on the exact 67th anniversary of the day my grandpa lost it. If you watch Mike Tyson explain the Willie bag, that’s my grandfather. Willie Pastrano, not Pep..

A jack in the box advertisment at a ball game? That must have been from when they had a good owner, or shortly after the sell off? This new person killed the image trying to be jack, ran it into the ground and closed all but one location in my area when there used to be one on 'every corner' like walgreens? When they goin belly up?
