It's that big because likely it's "one size fits all" across their range. If you don't like it, and have access to a lathe, you can always cut the back piece in a cross pattern, remove material, and then reweld it around short (lathe cut) pins. It only costs time.
PS, because this isn't a precision device, if you don't have a lathe (i'm a bit new to the channel so i'm out of the picture on that, sorry) you can also make a small tape adapter to the chuck of a drill and whilst someone else is spinning the pins you can run a grinder against it until it's shorter and fits the hole of the mounting ear. I've done that in the past when one broke, and got lost, and i happened to have a similarly sized chunk of metal that i would normally use as a "mallet" for stubborn things. In a pinch, you do what you gotta do.

Yeah it could definitely be modified if I really had a lot of time to put into it, but I don’t think that’s going to happen for a little while haha. Also a lathe would be awesome! Wish I had access to one 😬

Artiste soudeur ! J'aime la variété des prises de vues et l'utilisation de différents appareils : GoPro, Cell, Drone, Accéléré...
Bien contente de revoir la poule ha ha. Excellent travail de créateur :)

Nice job but I hope you are bolting rated anchor points through each chassis rail at the front.
Also you could make up a hinged number plate to hide the gap at the winch front. 👍🏻🙏🏽😷🦘

That’s a cool idea! And it’s installed with random bolts for now but will be getting graded bolts soon!
