- Diamonds In The Rough was originally released on CD in 2008 as part of the DVD+CD release “Live in the LBC/Diamonds in the Rough”. It is a compilation of b-sides recorded during the making of the band’s self-titled 2007 debut, rarities, covers and other non-album tracks. The 2020 vinyl and digital release of the album has been remastered and is expanded by 5 tracks, featuring the unreleased track “Set Me Free” (recorded during the “Hail To The King” sessions). It also includes other hard-to-find tracks such as the fan-favorite “St, James”, “4AM” and “Lost It All”. The 16 track album also includes the band’s cover of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”, which originally came out in 2009 on the Warner Bros album “Covered”. The vinyl is released on limited edition clear vinyl.

Okay, hands down, the orchestra and like the extra lead guitar in the background during one of the verses (maybe both) has illumined this alternate version.
yeah it feels really weird. Normally its supposed to be a harder hitting, riff based section but then with the orchestra it adds a bit of color and melody, its strange

Nightmare got me started. This was my second song I listened too and got me hooked. Shortly after I had listened to 80% of their music, learned each member's name and had a new favorite band

Their band is worth over 100 mill and they’re still the most humble guys in the world. I’ve seen them twice and I’ve heard the same thing from several bands about how nice they are.
I basically met them with this song, Afterlife will be a reference to them, and these arrangements that made them just great !! A7x forever, México presente banda !!!

I've been playing for 6 years and Im hoping to go to college in around 2 years for music and hopefully make a job out of it! Obviously chances of become as successful and worldwide like syn is next to nothing but as long as i can make a comfortable living doing what i love is all that matters! Good to see more people playing metal!

This was the very first Avenged Sevenfold song that I ever heard and it was the song that got me into A7X when I was a kid.

Forget A7X, this is the song that got me into the metal genre as a ten year old child. Man, how time flies. All those fucking years. Now I mostly moved on to shit like Septic Flesh, Amon Amarth, Melechesh etc, but I still listen to their hit songs like Afterlife, M.I.A, Unholy Confessions, etc.
I wonder how they feel, knowing that they were the childhood of a generation?

Not as good as the original but not terrible. I love the orchestral bits backing up the whole song in this version. Wouldn’t listen to this one over the original but don’t mind it when it plays.

@@asadhollow6477 Are you a musician? Because musicians and normal people hear music differently. Most people hear the song as the final song itself. Musicians hear the individual parts, measures, timing, pitch, octave, ECT. To me while it sounds pretty similar, its still wildly different and theres so much new and unique to this version.

I feel A7X would be perfectly accompanied with a full orchestra with most of their songs. Just like how Metallica did back in the day.
@@logandz they recorded a 78 piece orchestra for the upcoming album on february and are currently on the process of mixing and mastering the whole thing. hopefully it'll release this year.

this song brought me back to the best moment in my life
this is tight, the extra instruments just fills it out very nice. It turns a great song into perfect. They don't distract, just compliment and add too, along with the extra guitar. This version makes you wish your favorite artist had a year after they made the record to go over it and improve it, and see both versions every time.

i swear to god this is one of the dopest fucking song i've ever heard. i discovered it last month and am already addicted to it, i can't even hear the word "afterlife" or "when the time is right" without thinking of it and getting a huge need to listen to it. this is like a drug without any side effect other than a dopamine rush to the brain.
