When I was 15 years old, I was laying in a bathtub ready to end my life.... I had a radio playing on the sink counter, one of those old school ones with the long antenna sticking up LOL, playing on the only rock station for El Paso Texas....95.5 klaq... I had already been a huge fan of System of a down, but sitting there in that moment, when I heard the DJ announce "and here's the newest song from System of a down, byob" come on, I stopped what I was doing, and decided I wanted to hear it, and after decided i wanted to hear it again, which back in the day meant waiting through the rotation... I really love to believe sometimes, that music saved my life, and hope it does the same for others...... For reference, I am 34 now, with children of my own, living a pretty good life ❤️ raising my little metal punk kids who are totally respectful menaces to society LMFAO😂😂😂😂 thank you for your time if you've read this, and remember, all feelings are temporary!!!!

This was some of their worst work. It's still catchy as hell and I've been singing it for two days, but it's not quite SOAD. It's commerical SOAD. Toxicity was definitely the epitome of SOAD

Hello! 🤗
Hello
hi
Where the fuck are you....
Here
this song is more current now than ever. "why don't presidents fight the war? why do they always send the poor?"...
i came back after the news and all the things going on
@@chrisarabz98lllllll PP lllpl
It's always been like this - and it always will, unless the populace realises what needs to be done.
Cuz this is why they exist. No president, senator, no politicians will ever care about the people. We're only paws for then and their desires...
as I see it, maybe sound conspiranoid, why would any president want the earth erased in nuclear destruction? none of them, they got so much "materialistically speaking" to lose that they won't risk it, they only care about those number$ increasing, war nowadays its just bussiness and a pretext to lessen economic regulation, specifically on weapons and maybe laundering smth, who knows?
This could have been written yesterday, and still be as relevant as ever.
Its always been relevant. Ever since nation states formed yhe rulers and upper classes have sent the poor to die for their conquests.
and that's what makes it sad
Oh yes my friend how true - I´m caged in my own country and only 10% realize what going on here in germany !!! --- If someone ask us germans how hitler come to power ?! Now I can see it on my own.
a month ago I went to bed in a democracy state on the next day I wake up in a dictatorship !!!
our politics and the mainstream media works together and bring so many fear in the brains of the people and delate every other opinion. 90% of the people believe them because there a so afraid about the corona virus it feels like "deutsches reich 4.0".
It was so easy to synchronization them - oh it`s a nightmare for me
It will always be relevant, conflict is in human nature, and so is tribalism, eventually those things evolve and meet as war.
you have 420 likes... sorry man but i can't spoil it :D
This song is more relatable than ever right now ❤️ I was too young to understand these lyrics when I first listened… now I FEEL it

Sadly I'll probably see you on the frontlines in a few months, we’ll be bumping this in the hummer 😂
"Why don't presidents fight the war? Why do they always send the poor?" Really the most relevant statement in any war.
democrasy shit. a lot of "self-righteous" kings of the dark ages lie on ground with his peasant soldiers but our democrat leaders of "the people" are too important for to die in a battleground. i think if the kings had oppurnity of sending kids to school after their 5 age, they'll think either monarchy is the best goverment type for human honour. but we're living in republics so we think republics are best.
what does the first line even mean, and yes lets just send the richest people on earth to fight
@@luluna5228 Why is it that the people that declare the wars never have to fight them
Exactly. They won’t even let their family sign up for anything. Nothing. If there is a draft, guess who’s not a citizen here but are in Barbados or some other exotic place. They use dog whistle words like us and freedom and respect and we are better. Everyone wants to come to 😮America. We are just a fancy lie dressed in a beautiful facade with a silver tongue. Actually they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore. Some just come out and say it like jfk speaking of secret governments that are the ones calling the shots. It’s collapsing though and that scares me because we don’t even belong to ourselves. The autonomy they promised, was sold ages ago. Smh 😔
@theInsaneDoctor5228 cause then who is gonna lead if we send the highest up??
WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SINGAPORE

Once a year or so, I remember about Soad, i come take a listen, and i’m amazed how good they are. Every time.
This song gives you much needed breaks in between the intensity of the heavy guitar riffs and pulsating drums. Then at one point when you feel almost relieved because you think the song is over, it explodes back to life and shoves the controlled chaos right down your throat again against your will and you can't help but love every second of it.
People are calling this song a "Masterpiece" and I have to agree.
Anahí - Rumba ft. Wisin ------- Anahí - Rumba ft. Wisin ----- Anahí - Rumba ft. Wisin
SOAD is something else
Aye yo!
Those " much needed breaks" are the comparison to people who actually pay attention to what is happening in the world, and the oblivious to just want to party and not pay attention to anything political and hear buzzwords and throw their votes away because that's what CNN told them to do.
Controlled chaos is the name of my band that I’m making in 5 years

i always thought it was only darons voice but i hear it now
I used to think metal couldn't me harmonic. ESP thrash metal! I first got into the genre bc of them. Then Rob Zombie showed me metal could be rhythmic/groovy, where you can actually dance to it! We're taught that metal is just fast heavy riffs, drums, and vocal fry. It's a lot more versatile, I've learned
We need you more than ever in these times and you just left us....
No words can desicibe my love for system of a down
“Why don’t presidents fight the war, why do they always send the poor?”
15 years on and those lyrics are still shockingly relatable in today’s society. SOAD is timeless.
You dont even know what is being poor

After our first 4 years of decreasing war worldwide 👍
We eliminated ISIS, rapidly, and got out of Iraq. We've effectively ended the war in Afghanistan by reducing our troop presence to 2,500 "just in case" guys, we prevented a war with Syria, deflected from what looked like an inevitable war with Iran, kept peace with Russia despite many dicey situations, and avoided potential war with Korea with diplomacy. Your comment seems more relevant than ever 👏🤦
@@tigertantitan576 theirs more to the world than just the United States.
Serj’s “long curly hair” era should never be forgotten.
We love this song
Polar Bear I saw this in a meme before I watched this video by coincidence a few minutes after. I thought it was Weird Al until I watched this.
Polar Bear yeah I hadn’t seen it in any others.
He told me he used to hide his lighters up there bc ppl always steal that sh. That it was a," universal unspoken language or something." True story

Isn't it obvious?
i understand it...but most don't
Supaman1982 ikr
Supaman1982 I think's about how politicians never have the guts to fight their own wars so they send the commoners to fight for their cause while they sit back in the safety of their own buildings. I could be wrong though.
or maybe they just don't like the music... just saying
Wild Abra uses teleport.
WHY! DO! THEY ALWAYS TELEPORT?
WHY! DO! THEY ALWAYS TELEPORT?

Put dispenser here !
I think they say: WHY! DO! THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR?!
Mini mi They do, but it is a common misheard lyric, and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.
Mini mi yes
A social message that is done with bonkers rock spontaneity!
My brother passed in 2016 and he used to play the drums to all the SOAD songs. This song is such a throwback and so nostalgic to me.. and here I am crying

@@01A038VY I know exactly how you feel on the living for him part. I’m sorry to hear you lost your brother, too. It’s hard for sure.
Your brother was cool as hell! Thank you for sharing this sweet story.

I'm so sorry for your loss and yes your good brother is definitely rocking somewhere 🙏🏽 🤟🏽
I'm so sorry for your loss. I've read your comment and the first thing that came to my mind was that your brother must have been a force to be reckened with. My thoughts are with you and your late brother that was a SOAD drummer.
Mom would pull me up to school in 2010 with this blasting and I'd get out feeling like a badass. RIP you wonderful woman
