This video is a huge money saver!! Bcuz who wants to pay $10 every time they need a new bottke of swiffer cleaner?? Not me!! Thanks man!! This really does work!! I would just like to add that you may want to remove the bottle when not using the swiffer bcuz the cleaner may leak out! But i would rather have to remove the bottle after each use than pay $10 for another bottle of cleaner!!
Even untampered bottles leak. Ive waisted probably three forgetting to take the bottle out.
Girl, for real! I live in Mexico and these cost $25 here because they're imported. Was so important for me to figure out a way to refill!
I'll have you know I let that thing connected to the wetjet and 1 week later it slowly leaked the entire large bottle into my wooden floor. That's when I removed it and found two of my wooden tiles bumping up and that's when I knew, I messed up. It was the wejet itself leaking when it's not supposed to. Ever since then I always just disconnect it once I am done using it.
I had the garbage open and was ready to toss the bottle when I looked up how to remove the cap. Thank you! My elderly dog is a hospice pup, this saved me so much trouble!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have been frustrated because my new floors recommend PH neutral cleaner and I spent enough money on my new floor, I am following the recommendations. The Swifter solution is NOT PH neutral and I didn't want to have to replace my Swifter upstairs. I have a Bona mop which IS refillable downstairs. Your instructions were easy and worked perfectly.

Came here to say exactly this. Used my Dremel-like nail tool after my son removed the tops of two empty refill bottles with hot water soak then an adjustable wrench. Filled the larger one with Mr. Clean mixture and it worked perfectly. Don't know what I'll put in the smaller one yet, but I'm set for a while now. 😮Thanks.

Appreciate your video and I have been able to open the bottle like you did and reload with home cleaner. The only problem is Swiffer's proprietary design of the nozzle receptacle. There is a rubber membrane in the cap that gets punctured with not one but 2 pin holes by pins that sit in the receptacle on the mop unit. This allows the Swiffer cleaner to flow from the bottle through the receptacle to the sprayer jets. When you try to reuse the bottle these two holes in the membrane leak cleaner continuously. So, you cannot leave the bottle partially full in the swiffer mop. You have to use the bottle immediately then remove it and empty or turn it with cap side up so it does not leak through the pin holes. The more you keep inserting the same bottle it will make new pinholes every time and over time this will just leak more and more. Unless one had some way of replacing the rubber membrane in the cap after each use you probably cannot get around the leak problem.

This is true. I’ve ruined two mops by doing this as well. I can think of no other explanation of why they suddenly stopped working except for this.

I cut a piece of good electrical tape (I get Scotch Super 33 at work) to fit the back (bottle side) of the membrane every time i refill it. After I place it, I hit it with a little heat from a lighter and press it down for a few seconds. I haven't had any leaks yet.

Do you have any advice about refilling the new power mop by swiffer?
Unfortunately, I do not. I am only familiar with this model.
What will be the long term affects of using not approve swiffer cleaning agents? Will it clogged up the ports for the sprayer?
I personally don’t have any concerns. I will post an update if I ever run into any issues.

A pair of round jaw vicegrips. When you twist it cold you break the locking tabs. works great

But after recapping, the cap OS twisted to another position, so the membrane will be punctured more, so you have holes on the membrane and the cleaner could flow into the motor

There is a rubber seal integrated inside the cap, so it will not leak.
Also, I suggest not leaving the bottle on, in position to store away when you're finished mopping. Not even if you have bought a brand new bottle bc it will leak out over time every time!

Sorry to hear that. My recommendation is hotter water and/or submerge it in the hot water longer.
Soak, and find a strong young guy/person. I'd go with the guy.
This works but after removing the nubs , the liquid leakes out so in the end it's a bit wasteful 🤷
I tried this method and when I tipped the bottle over to reinstall it, the cleaning product just kept pouring out of the two small holes.

My option was always a set of channel lock pliers. Cap came right off. No issues. Used the same bottle for two years and then started leaking for some reason and so bought a new one. I don’t know where all this boiled water videos came from. Pliers are way faster!!

That’s disappointing. The swift wet jet is very useful. I recommend exchanging it for another one.
Try installing new batteries before returning. Did the refill click into place?
This works for a period of time before it starts leaking onto the pump motor inside the swifter. Over time by taking this bottle out the penetrating needle inside eventually will leak... let me know what you do to fix this problem
