I just bought O Cedar’s spray mop. It comes with a washable pad and you can buy extra. Also the mop solution bottle is meant to be refilled
That is what I have, too. Has already lasted 7-8 years. I like the tip about crocheting mop heads, though!
If you crochet, there’s a pattern for a homemade cover…
Me too.
I crochet mine too. I designed my own, and used a deep rib stitch and a double yarn combo of cotton and acrylic yarns for each pad. The cotton yarn is there for saturation and absorption and the acrylic is there for better scrubbing abilities.
I used coordinating colors just for fun but it doesn’t really matter…no one sees them but me. But, being anal about colors, I was lucky and found both types of yarn in a variegated purple and turquoise color way that looks really cool on the mop head, lol!
I made a set of three and rotate them in the laundry so that I always have a clean one ready. Crocheted them years ago and they’re still going.
There is a warning to be added here. Detaching and reattaching the cleaning solution will only work for a short while until the motor gets rusted and freezes. Each time you reattach the cleaning bottle, small needles poke through the rubber cover so that the solution can be pumped to the floor. However the second time you refill your container, new holes are punched. As a result, the motor will eventually freeze due to the solution running down into the mechanism. I've ruined two Swifters this way. A better solution would be to never remove the cleaning solution container and cut a hole in the top to refill it and tape it shut so it won't splash out. However you will always have to keep your mop upright forever and ever.
yuppp learned this the hard way
Whaaaaaat ?? Oh wait … I get it now. !!

Or you could 3D print a sealable lid. One would have to attach it with a cutter and then use heat to melt it ... Or leak repair putty.
I just crochet/knit these using cotton yarn only if I use these. I steam mop my floors. You have beautiful wood floors too. I like your washer too, agitator’s are the only one’s that thoroughly clean your laundry. Great idea though.
Greetings From Montréal, Québec, Canada !!! I work in the cleaning business and altough these ideas are FANTASTIC on HOW TO ' Not fall into the OVER/Consumming Trick, instead of buying the 'Swiffer WET JET', do has I do; Just buy the Microfiber Stick/Pad, (and a few EXTRA pads when the 1st one is being washed) and I keep a spray bottle to your belt/pocket, spray the flloor and just sweep normally !!! Another way/trick to save money !!!
Love your sarcastic sense of humor - mine is very much the same. :) I was already using those same pads on my wet jet, but I hadn’t figured out the hack for how to refill the fluid. I am so happy to be able to refill those things now - thank you!!
Pine sol is my go to as well! For me, it’s nostalgic because it reminds me of when my mom cleaned the house when I was little...
I love the OG, Lavender, and Sparkling Wave. Don't like the lemon. Can't say anything about the orange, pink, or green Pine Sol yet. I love the Citrus Mr. Clean (haven't tried the others yet).
memories I got from my mom ❤
Me too!
I do not use pine sol because I have allergies and it seems to be too strong for me but I do agree it cleans really well.
I hate pine sol. The lady that babysat me when I was young (a long time ago) she had a cat that peed all over the place and she used pine sol to clean it. Anytime I smell pine sol it's like I smell that nasty cat pee smell too. That cat ruined pine sol for me dang it.
The best sponsored video ever! You always make me smile, Jen! Thanks for sharing.
Quick tip for the microfiber cloths: do not use fabric softener on them. They will loose that trait to be able to pick things up like hair easily. You want them rough and not soft!
Thank you Jen! I just discovered how easy using the swiffer is, I'm so excited to use your hacks!
Thank you so much for this hack! My husband always jokes about me watching so many you tube videos but i came upon this one and told him about it.. Lets just say he bought the washable pads and got the swifer container open and filled it with what we like! So thank you again for sharing ☺
When I used to use a Swifter, I made my own pads for dirt cheap. Cheap towels amd velcro for the wet and cheap microfiber cloths with velcro for dry. But I use the O'Cedar Spin Mop now. My Swifter never really cleaned my floors.
Thanks! I'm about to get the WetJet for wood floors today but I still have so much Bona floor cleaner. This mop will be so much easier to use, but I'm really glad I can choose what floor cleaner to use when its empty and thanks too for the link to the washable mop pads!
The Turbo microfiber pad works really well... I will definitely be adding that to my shopping list and I never thought about making my own cleaning solution... Thanks Jen!
It seems like a dirty pad would be gross to throw in the washer with my laundry and I wouldn’t do a load just for a pad or two.
I put a hole at the top of the refill bottle, use the pads from Dollar Tree. It works fine.
Me either, especially with my towels! I always wash my pets items separately then I run a clean load afterwards before doing our laundry again.
When we had our lab, (had to say goodbye 3 weeks ago), we called them Hondo-bunnies... yes, her name was Hondo. We also asked her sweetly during the summer to hold her pores tight. 😂 … dogs shed girl don’t be embarrassed .... the cleaning is never ending anywhere we all live!!! Thank you for the video and thoughts on the products. Omg... the bloopers..... lmbo!!!!!! Y’all are freaking awesome!!!!!
I was looking for a tutorial on this topic and this video really helped me to clarify several doubts I had about SWIFFER. Thank you ! I will be aware of the new videos of your channel!
Thanks Jen. Great information ! Will be using this hack for sure!
Well done!! i was waiting for this incredible Swifer hacks video!! so i am going to share it
Another great video. The bloopers were the best. I love and enjoy watching you.
Omg the outtakes! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you're so fun Jen!
Thanks for the hack Jen! That will definitely save money! Your floors look just like mine. I’m glad to know that you can get that top off! Have a wonderful day!
Thank you! Just ordered the wet jet cloths!
This Swiffer review is the best, and I totally agree with you, the Swiffer pads save us a ton of money by being reusable!
Agreed, reusables also save the planet :)
Thank You Jen greatly appreciated. Just ordered the pads.
Just found your channel. Thanks for the tips. I'm planning to purchase a Swiffer wet jet but hated the thought of buying pads.
Your kitchen is very pretty!
Thank you for this. I was on the fence about getting one of these again and feel great not being limited now.
Excellent video friend I was looking for content on the subject and none of them served me except for your video I am really grateful, keep it up friend
Be sure to take as much dog hair off of the pad before you wash cause your washing machine hose can stop up. Happened to me! I LOVE your hacks! Have used them already.
When we use the swiffer for a quick clean of our tiles floors, we just use a microfiber cloth! Ours are large enough to "hook" into the little indentations on the swiller mop! No need to buy anything new! We then give them a quick rinse in the sink and throw them into the washing machine!
Love this information! Thank you Jen.
I had no idea that that could be done! you are amazing! thanks to you I can save money! your tips for hacking swiffer wet jet parts are very useful and accurate, you explain everything very well! thanks for sharing
I think they make a lemon pinesol now too and it's a bit lighter in scent for those who might find the original pinesol a bit strong. Another hint that may not safe a lot of money but may be worth it is to use distilled water or demineralized water at about 80 cents to a dollar twenty per gallon. I've learned over the years when a product needing dilution requests or suggests you use distilled water to choose that option if you can. It once took me 9 days to strip a vinyl floor of old wax so I could switch to poly acrylic style shine products but wax has to go because it will cloud otherwise. I ignored the use distilled water option in the commercial concentrated stripper. Until about day 7 I was so tired of going over and over and much on my hand and knees and making a mess and not getting all the streaks out. I added distilled water and omgosh that was the trick. Two days later I had a stripped clean beautiful floor in both utilty and kitchen and two bloody knees that ended up scarring and have never fully recovered in 8 years since. So when a concentrated window cleaner said Distilled water works best I experiemented and sure enough distilled water did not streak while our extra Hard Well Water does. Also no worries bout chlorine if you are on city water too. I've been using pinesol for over 50 years including in my profession and was once challenged by another pathologist who insisted he would prove my lab was full of contaminated molds and bacteria. He was so upset his lab was and MINE was NOT to his amazement. To be fair his lab actually grew on purpose several types of molds for industrial field work and control in plant work while my lab in same company was about growing seeds for various testing and we didn't want to control what the plant material might bring into the lab so we cleaned everything with Pinesol and Lysol combinations thereof and no doubt in my mind these are what made his results of testing with agar plates in both labs with the superior idea he would prove how bad my lab was compared to HIS backfired. Ahh the male competitiveness sometimes us gals need to remind ourselves to remain humble as not to upset the fragile balance between the genders. Anyway Great demonstration of thinking outside the box with the Hack for removing the caps on the Swiffer Jet bottles. And another cool thing is you can now use any product that you favor from vinegar water or premade dilutions of your favorite cleaner to concentrated professional fomulas with your own dilutions. Merry Maids or something like that cleaned my lab years ago and used a cinnamon scented additive to the mop solution I've learned to make my own and now also use lemon and perppermint too. Of course cinnamon and peppermint might get lost in a pinesol or strong scented product but it's lovely in many options out there including vinegar. Or just the plain rinse water if you need to rinse. (Think essential oils and a drop or two will do it and not usually effect the floor or the cleaning products. These scents don't linger long but love it for the first day or two.)
I love Pine Sol too not just for the smell but because i remember my mom using it when i was just a child. (Im 64!) I didnt know it would be ok for wood floors.?
Thank you Jen for sharing tips Jen…what a beautiful home, those floors! Best of all is the lab, i love labs❤️
Great overview! I purchased a few of them on Amazon. Such a saver. Thank you for sharing!
Just bought the mop pads! I've been looking for something like this.
Hi Jen. Love your hacks. I use the micro fiber cloths. You may have done it but I wet my microfiber cloth under the faucet. Wring it out then mop. It glides really easily over your floors. I use Pine Sol as well. I have the bona and the cleaner is really pricey. So I just refill my bona with what I want to use. But I too love the clean pine smell. Have a great evening Jen. Happy 4th. Be safe.💙🎉🎊
I appreciate your information for those of us who want to decide knowing the product information well, nothing tedious
Lol looooove the bloopers keep it up it shows how real you are!!!

This is really an amazing cleaning option., Very easy and money saving sweeper. Thanks for this helpful video.
excellent review you can appreciate excellent producer for cleanings where you can save money and leave the perfect house spotless
Microfiber is really good to pick up pet hair. I sewed my own pads for my swiffer, but I will definitely look for these when those wear out.
Thanks for sharing, I love it because you explain everything perfectly and make me understand what you mention very well. it worked for me from start to finish
I love the bloopers! Love your channel!!!
When I used to use a Swifter, I made my own pads for a very low price. Cheap towels with velcro for wet and inexpensive microfiber cloths with velcro for drying. But now I use the O'Cedar Spin Mop. My Swifter never really cleaned my floors, the truth is, thank you very much for this video and for the good content, the truth will serve me a lot and it will also help me a lot to clean faster and I owe everything to you the truth, thank you very much
Thanks for sharing these tips to save money, it really helped me!
I’ve tried some hacks in the past for these too. Love my swifter vac. And please Jen keep the bloopers in for every video!!! Loved that! Lol And the make it so I seem happy even though my soul is dead inside!! 😂 💜💜💜
This video is fantastic! I was looking for this kind of product to clean my floor. I prepared everything according this video and it really works.
This has saved me from having to buy a bona mop and takes you use the reusable cloth pad. My hand scraped wood floors have build up from using the swiffer products and were told by everyone to switch to bona hardwood floor cleaner. We’re also potty training a puppy and are mopping multiple times a day (unfortunately). So washing pads over and over would have been a real pain! Plus who wants to buy a second mop that already sprays cleaner?... so being able to open the swiffer bottle to put bona cleaner in it and use the mop I already have AND use the disposable pads because of the puppy accidents is WONDERFUL!!!!
Thank you for the hack on the wet jet bottle. That’s amazing!
Thanks Jen for the info ! 💕💕
You go, girl! Get yo coin! Also, LOVED the bloopers!🤣🤣
Thanks for the hack. Just ordered a set for my wet jet. I like how you showed how to open the cleaning solution bottle. I love pine sol also as I have all wood floors in a 2100 sq. foot home. I retired a few months ago and have become the house husband. Yes I cook and clean. Thanks Jen.
Jim, get a fake Sham Wow from the Dollar store and they work better than microfiber. And you can cut 3 from one cloth. This video is a commercial for those overpriced microfiber cloths that is sponsoring her. The Sham Wow's work better for about one - fifteenth the price.
And a pair of pliers, used fairly gently, will pop that top in 2 seconds.
Hi Jim, looks like you’ve picked up a fun job after retirement 😅 Welcome to the club!
your a mean cynical person. She is offering people a great idea and you interpret it as a "commercial for the microfiber clothes." what a .......@@mrequi1
you encouraged me to steam mop kitchen and bathrooms. I've been retired for 7 yrs and struggle to get up and do anything. Thank you

The Dollar Tree has had a "build your own broom" kinda setup for a few years now. They sell the metal handle and several different compatible attachments that you can swap out as needed. There's a broom head, mop head, sponge mop head, wet jet style head, and dry duster style head if I remember correctly. It's saved me soooooo much money and storage space!
They are such a great dup for the swiffer products and SOOO adorable
The Dollar Tree versions are great!
I wish my Dollar Tree had this. I have never seen them at any Dollar Tree near me.
