Great memories. It’s how I remembered KBF as a kid. This is before it went corporate and sold off to Cedar Fair. It was a great family park when it was ran by the Knott Family. I really miss these days!

To be fair, the Knotts family had the chance of selling the park to Disney. However, the Knotts family knew they would ruin the park. Personally, I think Cedar Fair has done a decent job with the park.

My dad had to stay in the US for 3 months for a Nato course. We visited him from Belgium for 1 month in April 1982. We stayed in a motel where you could hear and see that yellow roller coaster from Knott's Berry farm. I believe it was called the Ciesta inn. I was 7 and i remember thinking, how cool is this country. Pacman in the little arcade, the toys where crazy. That was 42 years ago but i remember this holiday so vividly. And smile, it's California sounding every few minutes on tv. Flying Eastern and Capitol Airlines. Thank you for this video, brings back memories!

Cool to see that quick glimpse of the Movieland Wax museum still standing and the old gaslight Hotel that me mom and gramma stayed in on August 20th 1980. Gramma is dead and gone but I found a receipt for the time we stayed it was 33 dollars a night plus tax.

My mother worked there from the early 80's until the end of the 90's. She was Ghost Town Spinner and Weaver. Her name was Miss Marion. She was the little old lady who stood on the porch at Abigail's using a big spinning wheel. We spent a lot of time there. Used to get free passes all the time. The Farm was a true gem back then. The Log Ride, Haunted shack and the Dinosaur Ride were all something we looked forward to every time we went. It's a shame what they have done to it now.

I worked at the auto race car ride 40 years ago. A few times the governor would come loose when park guest were driving the car. The car would go about 3 times as fast & we would have to run after the car taking shortcuts to get it slowed up so the park guest would not get injured. I sometimes would lay on the running board facing the rear of the car if I had to take a car around the track. This is because I could open the hood bypass the governor to go really fast for a short period of time. One morning before the park opened another Knott's employee took a car at full throttle all the way around the track. The park supervisor heard the loud revving engine & met the car @ the end of the track. There was smoke coming from the drive belt & I heard the employee got in trouble.

It's amazing that as much of the park has changed since the mid 80's the Grand Entrance structure really hasn't except for that banner over the top. Especially amazing considering Universal and Magic Mountain's entrance structures have been completely reconfigured in that timeframe.

Man it's amazing to see this time capsule but I was born in 1990 and my mom used to take me this park a lot when I was a little kid it's crazy how the park has changed but I do miss a lot of things like Tampico Tumbler, The parachutes, Grand Slammer, The bridges we used to walk across with safety nets, the water light show, Wind Jammer, the wooden car races, boomerang, Walter K Steamboat ride , Dolphin show, Kingdom of The dinosaurs, Bigfoot Rapids when they used to have that big waterfall that would drench everyone in the raft , Hammerhead, screaming swing haunted Shack and among other attractions I missed so much wish I had a time machine to go back in the 90's and relive the memories again ^^

I went there in about '88 or '87. Came all the way from New Zealand. I remember the pool table illusion and being a part of a forced perspective illusion. The rest is a blur. I probably went on these rides. The boat memory could have been from Disneyland...hmm
