What happened to him? He was supposed to be a superstar
@@SS-br5ffleague changed into a 3pt league and he was far from a 3pt shooter. Just fazed out. Same with MCW

Ricky was nice af before his acl injury and before teams found out he couldn’t shoot 😂. As a wolves fan, that year for him was ENTERTAINING!
Bro his rookie year he was must watch TV. I watched the Timberwolves highlights every night. Bro would throw 4-5 crazy ass passes a night.
Flynn was better

People call me nuts when I say this. But I am 44 and have been watching basketball my whole life. Good memory back to mid 90s. There were a few years in Minnesota where to this day, Ricky Rubio was the best passer I have ever seen. High degree of difficulty, creativity, and created shots has opposed to just hitting a wide open man. He was sick...and the he just kind of fell off the cliff. Watching him later in his career...he just lost his zest for playing.
@sidra_games4551 He was very exciting. He definitely made some of the most difficult passes I've ever seen. As he got older I think he realized he didn't need to be flashy to get his 8-9 assists a game.
Brandon Jennings was hell of a player. Club 520 Podcast is quickly becoming my favorite podcast for hoops. So damn funny.
That’s dope Brandon got on the Gil’s Arena hoodie ✊🏾🔥🔥
That’s the collab with his own brand tuff crowd
Teague funny as hell man. Great Pod
Someone needs to talk about how Jeremy Lin was kill-in John wall in workouts/d-league etc. back in 2010 draft class. People say he came out of nowhere but I remember watching him cook and knew he was good.
Streaky shooters swear they would kill in today’s NBA
They treat each other like they were all legends of the game, its funny.
Stop it.🙄🙄 Defense is easier now. Ain't no "Big Men" in the League that will put you on your azz for driving to the rack either.
@@mwebster3265 No streaky shooter averaging 28 in 2024.

Shoutout to Rubio u still my dawg
They never mention how Derrick Rose was doing them dirty lmao
I doubt it's some kinda conspiracy to not mention that. I heard Teague talk about Rose in a good way. He played w/ Rose in Minny when he scored 50 and talked candidly 😅
thats to go without saying doe its d rose my guy
John Wall mentioned him, BJ has mentioned him on Gil’s arena, CP3 mentioned him. IDK man I’ve seen a lot of guys talk about D Rose and when they do the energy changes as if they’re emphasizing how damn good he was.
@jamesonedwardsii4943 Teague called D rose his hardest matchup on Udonis Haslem podcast too
@@harveymitchell5114nah it’s something going on. Because he’s the youngest mvp and no podcast talks about him like that like if he don’t exist. Search for club 520 Derrick rose. He don’t got vids. But if you search somebody like Jennings he got like 18 videos.
Mans had a Gumby haircut and said he was ahead of his time 😂😂😂. I had a Gumby in the 80s. Think before you talk youngsters.
I like Jennings alot but to say he’d average 28 pt today is wild. Their are alot of great players today that don’t average 28pt.
Definitely wasn’t, he had plenty of opportunity on the Bucks AND the pistons before he got hurt. He had game but we’re not gonna hype up players as if they were better than they actually were.
In this era where the 1 and 2 position is interchangeable he would, he’d have the freedom to shoot much as he wants, he scored 55 in a era where your PG wasn’t your leading scorer
@@ajthompson7000 that’s bs. Gilbert arenas, Penny hardaway, Baron Davis, Deron Williams, Stephon marbury, drose. Every era had PGs that were leading scorers. If he was really that good he would’ve separated himself from the other PGs of his era. At no point in his career was he better than Jalen Brunson is RIGHT NOW.
New players are built different. Taller, faster, stronger. There wasn't any Giannis and Luka and Wemby sized dudes that played like guards then...
@@RedE4NBA2K now you’re talking about his career which was shortened due to injury, I spoke on his ability to be able to score 28 pts per game in this Era, there’s no way you can sit here and tell me the freedom PGs had to score is different from now vs back then. Jalen Brunson is not close to Brandon Jennings lol I’m taking Brandon Jennings everyday of the week
As a bucks fan who grew up in the Bradley Center and the red and green Bucks, Brandon Jennings is my favorite Buck of all time. Bucks in 6 forever man. May not of been the most successful period in Bucks basketball but man that period got me into basketball.

Not gonna lie .. I hate "Being a Brand" talk
Being a walking advertisement is the last thing we need lol
Yes, because were the viewer obviously we dont want promotional contents flooding our social medias, but for the players? Theyre looking at generation changing bag right there… gotta see their perspective
@@darmawan3029 I for sure hear you and agree about the athlete side specifically ... But too many of my cousins running around talking this nonsense lol
That's moreso what I meant, should've clarified ha
Everybody has a brand on social media whether you want to view it that way or not. You advertise yourself every time you post something under your name.
That is not how it works. That’s how y’all want it to work. Ain’t everybody a brand and no one needs to support your lacklustre shit. Get the fuck on somewhere
Great Pod, that Donavan Mitchell Pod being 15 minutes was wild.
Bro Brendon Jennings career high is 19ppg on a bad team shooting 42% from the field.
🤔what???? 😂😂😂 He put 55 on the warriors head
@@ghent973908 so? I am telling you that they talk about him like he was an NBA prodigy bc he was insane in HS. He put 55 on Warriors head, that still ended up as his career high and he ended up 3rd in ROY and never averaged 20ppg in his career. Why does Brandon Jennings say “back when we played” as if he wasn’t playing in the social media era like 8 years ago. Hearing him talk you’d think he played in the ABA pre merger or something
His best years were in 09-14 before the Achilles… 10+ years ago
The way I see it is he’s talking more about the competitiveness they had back then.
2009/2010 was a completely different league
2009 is only 5 years away from being 20 years ago.
There is guys that were drafted before still playing. He just think he was better than he really was
On brooo we need that tyreek Evan’s interview 👏🏾
Saying you wouldn’t need the NBA is crazy. For every Deestroying, Tjass, etc there are countless of failed influencers trying to “make it”. Even guys like Mikey, Julian Newman are examples of how you need to make it to the next level or else the general public will stop caring and as a result their brand goes down with them.
That’s not what he was saying, he was talking about needing the nba for marketing opportunities, now brands can go directly to players solely based off social media following
facts that comment was dumb as hell

That's a moronic statement. He was given every chance to succeed but he failed. He made money though.
I'm not mad at anyone who enjoys Plantlife (🍃) , but B. Jennings is a waaaay better conversationalist when he's not elevated. He often disapears on Gil's Arena.

Scored 55 and never averaged 20
Im a life long bucks fan and Brandon Jennings was the dude for a bit. I think them trading for monta Ellis fucked his confidence up a bit and then he had all those injuries after they traded him
B Jennings ahead of his time. His mindset it 💯 correct about being a brand but nah. You still need the nba. Them podcasts and branding deals don't come without the nba.
You people don’t understand that PLAYERS judge each other totally different the leagues handicaps and handcuffs players
8:20 Wild how a player can make it to the NBA and not know what a pick and roll is. That would be like a footballer making it to the Prem and not knowing what a one-two is
What college you know back in 2005-2009 running a pick and roll? Teague went to Wake Forest. They didn't run that so he didn't know. It's not that wild. Especially when Tony Parker, Steve Nash and Chris Paul didn't really start killing with it til 07-08.
I can tell some of yall dont remember how good bro was his attitude n Achilles took him out early thats it
If ya know ball ya know bj was cold ! He got the real feel of the league tho too late because he got hurt
What kinda Under Armour shoes B Jennings wearing??? I lightweight wanna cop
They shoulda asked him how it felt to get treated by D. Rose his entire bball life
Yo who is as this Brandon Jennings player these players are talking about? As a Bucks seasons ticket holder i remember a player that could have great games, but more often than not he was a volume shooter who shot below 40 percent and couldn’t play D. Let’s pump the breaks on inflating each others ego because the tape and numbers don’t lie…
He was a SLAM era star…I remember being super excited for him when he dropped 55 as a rookie…then he kinda dropped off and stopped being relevant. No hate, just the way it was…eventually SLAM stopped being relevant too. Everything has its time…
Ricky was starting point guard in olympic games as 17 year old. and won silver. Everyone in nba can drop 20 relax Brandon. jennings is not even half the player Ricky is. no one in the world would pick Jennings over Ricky as pg if you want to win basketball game.
Yeah doggin on another player tells me you're insecure about your game

Wish Brandon talked like this when he’s on Gil’s.
This is the most I've ever heard BJ talk. He gives straight 🦗🦗 on Gil's Arena.
The way efficiency is important now, Jennings would be coming off the bench
GUMBY!!! HIGH TOP FADE!!! ahead of his time!!! We was wearing those haircuts in the 80s and I'm BALD now that should tell how long ago that was. Ppl just say stuff
It was out of style for 20 something years and he helped bring it back in style around 2010-2013 era
@Fsojack Okay cool bring it back is totally different than ahead of his time. I feel you tho
Can we bring Jeff’ S bro Marquise here?
Brandon my guy but he should talk like this on Gils Areana he only seems to open up when being interviewed
He seems more comfortable talking to Teague. He gets marginalized and talked down on when he's on Gil's show. They're giving him his props on 520
BJ sounds like kyrie when he talks
Nah, that was much more coherent/logical than anything ky would say into a microphone
who y'all taking for your franchise PG ? jennings or rubio ? keep it a buck
Honestly, I'd take Ricky. He's a weasel defensively and is a better passer and has a better team game on offense.
Rubio.
Jennings for sure
Rubio. He was great before the injury, better than all stars.
Rubio
Pioneer of overseas to the league
Bj was like 80 mil we can go get some packs and flip that lol
Funny thing: Rubio had a better career than all but 5 players in that draft.

Brandon gotta stop blaming the people around him haha hitching his wagon to Steph and now pulling him down. Go to therapy man.
Lmao all these mid role players swear they would kill it today. BJ had talent but none of the intangibles.
Bro never avg 20 points in a season but was killing??
One the goofiest things is when people say “they wouldn’t need the nba.” Bro. If it wasn’t for the nba nobody would know none of yall lol.
"wild story" is a bit of a stretch.
Jennings only shot over 40% 2 times in his career?! shit is crazy I thought he had multiple 20 point seasons.
RR has a better carreer in all aspects than BJ, bro is a world cup mvp😂😂 gringos say Whatever for attention
In the NBA, this league we actually give a damn about, that man was a non-factor. And if you can't come to grips with that, we can't help you.
Why they hating on Ricky Rubio he had a damn solid career
because he was more highly rated as a draft prospect, these US PGs in that draft class didnt rate him because he wasnt a scorer. Rubio's strengths were things these guys never really had, both Teague and Jennings could get a lot of dimes but they weren't floor generals, certainly didnt defend either.
Interview OJ Mayo
Jennings woulda been a better fit for Modern NBA, but LaMelo is too tall to be a good comp. De'Aaron Fox is also really good.
Gotta get Drose on the pod
Too much player “branding”, takes precedence over competing…which is what the audience values more. NBA has stars and will always have a following but its viewership is nothing like it was in the 90s.
Steph wasn't the sole recipient of that 50 + ..
Ellis , Magettie. Jackson, etc, were getting major buckets put on them.
Tyrese haliburten

Brandon Jennings game is very comparable to Nick Van Exel
The video of Jeff trucking Rubio into the court side seats is hilarious 😂😂
Jennings is nice but conveniently forgets when d rose gave him buckets and made him cry in HS. Then won youngest MVP.
Ricky Rubio be gettin disrespected on this podcast every time lmaoo
Rubio made 3x more money in the NBA than Jennings & Flynn combined. Teams valued Ricky more.
Brandon Jennings is one of those 🐐
