The market is over saturated with games, so it’s not as exclusive to be on TV. Everybody is on TV, getting visibility so it’s not as special. Too many networks. It’s great for small schools who used to never get seen, but it’s just a lot of fragmenting the market now. Also, the transfer portal has taken away the amount of investment fanbases have in players. You don’t bother to learn rosters b/c they get blown up after a yr. I haven’t known a full WF roster since John Collins was playing. Add in conference expansion, and the game has lost some of the emotional attachment that made it important and a priority for fans.

That Fab Five team was all time good but Rose and Howard were never looked at as number 1 draft pick dudes, they played two years and went 5th and 13th. The best three players NBA draft wise that I remember was 06-97 Gators with Horford going 3rd, Brewster 7th and Noah 9th. No number one, but all the same class and all top 10.
