Amélie | ‘The Phone Booth’ (HD) - Audrey Tautou, Maurice Bénichou | MIRAMAX
/ miramax - Zábava
This film is a masterpiece, it's an exploration of human behaviour, loss, growing old, and feeling love. The soundtrack is spectacular as well, props to Yann Tiersen, seriously.
I totally agree with you..a masterpiece of human emotion..loss,love,hope..wonderful and utterly spellbinding
@@poppyfield1619 I assume you haven’t watched endgame
@@humanchannel7825 oo no I haven't but thanks for the recommendation!
It touches the most sensitive aspects of life
the soundtrack really enhances the beauty of this film and ties it in a neat quaint bow
What I love about this movie the most is that it shows how a small gesture of kindness can change someone's life for good, she is the most selfless character, filled with idealism and delicate like a new bloom, which makes her the most lovable and precious person to those around her. If you have that kindness in you, remember to love and live like Amelie.
“Life’s funny, to a kid time always drags. Suddenly you’re fifty. And all the memories of your childhood fit inside a rusty little box”
- these lines hit home so hard!! I remember thinking the 6 week school summer holiday was a blissful eternity, playing in the park with my friends on sunny days. Now the years just whizz by. This scene captures that sentiment perfectly.
Yup. So happy this appears to be a thing and not just me 🙂
@@vincentdewilde You are not alone, my friend.
French movies can be so unique, extremely touching. Like a poem, a paint but also... so real at the same time, they are just incredible.
NetTubeUser Then you can see “les Tuches”, beautiful poem, also “TAXI” Ahha I’m kidding
There’s really beautiful french movies, like “La princesse de Montpensier” , “Les chevaliers du ciel”, “Un long dimanche de fiançailles” or “Intouchables”.
Nowadays, french cinema is quite messed up. In a full row of low quality dramas, you hopefully get Amélie. In a full row of bad crime flicks, you hopefully get La Haine. French directors should varying the genres, even if it means to have less movies per year but excellent ones.
Watch 'Un homme et une femme' beautiful french movie, very poetic in the way it was filmed and the scenario. Also if you are in your teens watch 'La Boum 1 et 2'. If you are into crime movies the best french ones are Léon et Nikita (favorite movie ever)
You are so right....can you gave me movies like this to watch..this movie is breathtaking to me
It's so wonderful, beautiful, movie I've seen using boxxy software. One of my top 5 favorites. Beautifully filmed, great story, great acting, fantastic music.
This movie made me feel something, no other movie ever has
Sameee
yes absolutely me too.
Me too
Oui tout à fait ca. !
Maurice Bénichou Passed away this June (2019). Rest in peace my friend, I hope you are in many people rusty boxes. And thank you for giving me one of my favourite movie scenes.
The childhood treasures grow but never die.
They are of phenomenal emotional power !
To a kid,time always drags.
Suddenly,you're 50

True 😣
I agree when you grow up life just goes so fast
İzlədiyim ən yaxşı filmlərdəndi musiqiləri olsun oyunçular olsun hər şeyi ilə mükəmməl.
What 50y,suddenly i am 64😀
When he was crying, I was crying. What other movie can do that 30 minutes into it? What a masterpiece!
I think this is my favourite scene ever, from any movie... 50 years in a box, unimaginable emotions, perfect music... Than a little humor. When Bretodeau opens the box, and almost burst in to tears my throat always tightens :)
We have a few good movies in France but if u can see '' un prophète '' in vost, believe me its an other masterpiece that you can remember all you're life...
This scene, all by itself, is worth all the gold in the world!
Grande ator, precisou de 5 minutos para brilhar...e Audrey é maravilhosa...
If you see the bloopers you will see that the last part where she drinks the shot and coughs is actually a blooper and people where laughing. She actually did get irritated by the drink and pardoned herself to the director right afterwards. Man Audrey Tautou is sooo adorable and such a perfect fit for Amelie
Hollywood could have never done such a masterpiece like this one. Long live french movies 🇫🇷
I have to take it in slowly. I just saw delicatessen the other week. That will take me months of thinking!!
There's only like three good french movies
@@maxlurya4227 There is a lot, but they are not so popular as the shitty hollywood ones

I can feel deeply this nostalgic scene, extremely touching. For me, Amélie is the best French movie I've ever seen, it's a masterpiece ❤
Powerful scene. Her own scheme played back on her and made her realize how precious time is.
My favourite film. My son said, "Watch it Dad. You'll love it."
He was right.
This movie is pure art.
I remember the first time I saw that movie.
It was quite a shock to realize that the marble scene, and the hole they play in,were the exact same I was playing with during my own childhood. I went to the school this was shot.
It was my own Bretodeau flashback within the flashback.
Wow!
That’s so cool
We analized this scene in my Film course. Needless to say, after watching this in the dark with everyone, I was left in tears. Beautiful!
just when you feel like giving up on the emotional side of people..You read a comment like this and you breathe a sigh of relief in the hope that all human feelings and sensitivity to what makes us human isn't lost in this world we live in...
To be honest, anybody would be in tears if he/she was analized.
@@amun1040 You just made me spit out drink laughing.
Didn't expect to cry. This is all we're missing of people in the modern age. She just has normal empathy and it completely changed someone's life. People aren't used to being treated like humans anymore.
"People aren't used to being treated like humans anymore." wow... :(
This scene made me cry too, a simple act of kindness for the sake of it is so genuine and heartwarming
Such a great movie. I remember when my wife who was my girlfriend at the time and I first started dating we saw this movie together. We’ve been together for 18 years and like the old man and his flashback, my flashback was of my wife and I so young and full of that new love feeling. 👍
ahh too good I hope you are well
words cant explain how much i love this film
2:22 Just a detail, but the bartender is SO authentic
Possibly THE best feel good film ever made - period.
This almost makes you want to cry. I feel the memories he's had
When I saw this movie in my first film class ever in college, I became absolutely obsessed with it. It was also the first foreign language film I had ever seen.
Me too although the first foreign language film i remember seeing was 'La Strada' by Federico Fellini
this is the most beautiful scene i have ever seen in my life. one of the best in cinema history. it has such an emotional significance to me that i can’t put in words.
i was so sad to know about the passing of maurice bénichou (bretodeau) last week. i felt that i lost part of me. i really hope he’s in a better place now.
rest in peace, maurice. your (bright) energy remains here on earth.
BRE-TO-DOOO!! rip...
It's a fine scene but you really need to see more films if you think this is one of the best ever...
@@SA-rz6fj Go away dude
Couldn't agree more. I must have watched it more than 100 times over the last 20 years.
I like to think this character got all those marbles back.
This scene and the one where Amelie is leading the blindman describing the neighbourhood - I will never forget. I watched when I was a high school student, my first French movie (subtitles) and has since remained in awe of French movies.
such a wonderful movie
ReviewTechAfrica the colour palette is unique, the movie is interpretable and just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it's bad. I recommend reading some breakdowns of the film online and then watching again, you may have a newfound appreciation of the film. Of course, you have every right to have the opinion you hold.
I've seen the movie many times using boxxy software and never get tired of it.
This is truly one of the best movies I has ever watched!
Just realized this was shot in my street in the café that I go to often. Watched the movie ages ago and it just struck me.
Imma need a Cognac.

I do too. What do you suggest
Very few movies have me revisit them every now and then. This is certainly one of them.
I was floored when I saw this as a kid for the first time, and I still always discover something new. This movie is like a fine wine. French wine, no less!
Why is she so beautiful ?
Heins Snieh
Because she's Amélie, Amélie is always beautiful
For one, its her eyes. They're big and full of life, like a Disney princess.
beauty is subjective
make up and scene setup
She's sweet and personable too.
RIP Maurice Benichou. Un acteur formiddable. Et moi, je pleure.
This movie is the motivation for me to learn French!
How are the lessons coming along?
We are welcome ^^
Don't hahahahaha it's technically useless... I have an advances french, but it is just useles.. :(
I am french
Good luck !
This is such a sweet and gentle kind of film with some very heavy things going on in it. Amélie is is such a charmer and at the end of the film finds what she had been dreaming and hoping for. An excellent movie to be sure!
I am amélie
I cook egg with spoon
You can’t buy me on blue ray
But you can on DVD
Well I owned the Blu-ray... because actually we have it in France but idk if it's the same for other countries

She is an angel but so shy
How can someone be such a genius that they can make every frame of a film mean something?
man, that's what i call acting ^^
Came here because I cried watching it the first time. Cried again. I am a man.
I love this movie. I only watched it because my wife's friends all say she looks like Amélie. I am so glad I did because no matter how often I watch it the same tears come to eyes, the same heart strings are pulled and the same joy is felt at the end.
You’re a lucky man. Audrey is absolutely beautiful!
Great movie and great scene !... RIP french actor Maurice Bénichou (1943-2019)...
"C'est drôle la vie. Quand on est gosse, le temps n'en finit pas de se trainer, et puis du jour au lendemain on a comme ça 50 ans." How I feel ya....
Still after years...the most beatiful movie I have ever seen.
This part is so beautiful.
This film (and its soundtrack) is so awesome.
I remember this came on film 4 late one night when my grandma had fell asleep, I thoroughly had an entrancing experience that I still treasure! French film is so beautiful
I've been thinking about this scene, it's been nearly 20yrs since I watched this movie.
This is a gem of a little film. Audrey Tautou and the rest of the cast are just stellar in it, and the story is terrific.
Some movies are magical. This is one.
She’s so cute and beautiful! Love her pretty eyes as well! Amélie forever!!!
Beautiful story and music to dream to. He's right; one minute you're in the playground, the next you're 50, just like that. There's not a moment to waste.
Sad to hear that 'Monsieur Bretodeau' had passed on. RIP sir.
Beautiful lady. How can anyone not fall in love with her?
I'm a totally cynical person, especially when it comes to inane, sickly sweet chick flicks. Yet, this is my favourite film of all time because it's so well done. Every scene is so well crafted with little details that make you smile. It's a great story, it has a range of emotions, it has French flair, it has a great soundtrack, it is the complete package of joy and humanity.
There is NOTHING you would change on it - nothing! 👍
This is hardly a chick flick.
Well maybe that's why it's your favorite... because it's not really a sweetly chick flick... at all.
Hello Michael, my name is Michael too ... .what you are saying is for me the same in 100%. Watching this film for the first time in a cinema I got a flash into my brain, I have NEVER seen another film what shook me like this and will be my favorite ever. Crazy but true.
@@motorcollection6635 My son told me. "You will LOVE this film, Dad. You have got to see it."
Boy was he ever right! 15 times of viewing, and counting.
_Amelie_ is one of my favorite all time movies. She goes from one plot to the next, like a good version of Macaulay Culkin in home alone. There is some innocent childish magic to how she wishes to make everyone around her whole again, and the way the movie provides flashbacks for each of her subjects gives us depth that we would otherwise not really have. The moral of the story is that if one is good, one should achieve the ultimate prize in the end, love.
Just gorgeous - the whole film - from beginning to end. The best of the best.
This movie is one of my favorites!! Such beautiful cinematography, music, actors, costumes! Lovely!!
Quelle magnifique scène, frissons garantie ... larmes aux yeux , quel film grandiose , la musique est magistrale , tellement nostalgique , j'adore.. un vrai bonheur ce film :)
BEST ART MOVIE EVER
This is my favorite movie of all time. I even wrote an essay about this which made my professor want to watch this again. Love Amélie.
The day I was told I look like her, was the best day of my life lol
You look like her.
The cinematography is extraordinary.
BRETODEAU!!!1!
The pinch, Bretodeau!
Pas Bredoteau!
RIP Maurice Bénichou
Her character makes her even more beautiful
The colour grading in this film is so bold. So GREEEEEEEN I love it
PERFEITOOOOOO, um dos melhores filmes que já assisti, se não for o melhor, a estética, o romance, a história... simplesmente perfeito.
All scenes is perfect
Finally Gui exactly
Pure masterpiece I've watched again using boxxy software.
I personally wouldn't say that every scene is perfect but if like them I'm not gonna get on your case.
She is sooooo cuteeeee
Visiting Paris and was in the exact location of this scene today. Knew it was similar to this movie but not the same until now. Movies always make it more poetic, but a beautiful place.
This movie is my favorite, I am so proud of my country who can make masterpieces instead of shit they serve us since years
my favorite scene is around the 1:50ish mark when the teacher does the tiny pinch with his fingers and it turns into an ear pull...my heart sings and i start cracking up...its nice to see someone else has mastered the tiny pinch
this movie is my happy movie, her and the whole concept... so beautiful
Awesome Scene ❤❤❤
Merci pour cette touchante interprétation Mr Benichou !
On n’oubliera jamais...
Aujourd’hui on est tous des Bretodeau.

Indeed we are!
Poor Amélie. Her heart is running, but her love goes away😂
What a face !!!
Pretty Gallic like no other.😍
One of the best scenes ever put on film
I always just start bawling my eyes out. I've never watched this without
我的最爱❤During my high school years, on a sweltering summer day, I was in China. I saw a movie being played on the movie channel, and I still remember my mood at that time. It was truly wonderful, this is my favorite movie, with great colors, editing, shots, and script. I'm sorry I don't know English, this is a silly AI.
Truly beautiful is the human soul, such a mistery, such a wonder.
Fun fact:
Yesterday I finished my exams at 12:30h. The weekend before, I had a dinner on the bar of the mother of an old friend, she hadn't told me anything about him in a long time and in the few times I asked, she always answered that he was in a very bad way, so even if she gave me his number, I never dared to text him.
The thing is that when I asked her mother about him once having had my dinner this weekend, she told me that he was working on the bar with her, so when I finished the last exam in the hour I mentioned before I went to their bar.
Consuming was not my main plan, but luckily I had 2€ in my pocket, I entered to the bar and I only recognised him because her mother had described me how he looked like, he was almost twice taller than me and he didn't recognise me at first, he didn't even know I was going to visit him! We had in fact spent around 6 years without seeing each other. So, looking at his face and being astonished I asked him a chocolate milkshake, I drunk it and after I finished it, I waited for around 20 minutes trembling and staring at him thinking what to say.
He was commenting with his workmate what a boring journey they were having, which increased my conviction of which I was doing was the right thing.
He came to the bar, bent to catch some bottles, and I asked him: "*****, do you remember me?" He was shocked with the question and stood up to ask me: "What is your name?" I answered with my name and he was really shocked, he even sweared, he knew who was I. We had a talk of 2 minutes, because we both were really nervous, so I took my stuff and went out the bar, but I told him that I was going to return and we would discuss our lives more relaxedly.
Le joli minois d'Audrey Tautou 💞
Amélie pour toujours 🎩
J'adore la poésie de ce film 👍
It feels like every photogram in the movie could be an art painting
That's what I said. You take any frame and have it as a beautiful picture framed. I think it was done in just a few colours with tints. Its the best movie I ever saw and I own every copy in Blu ray and other formats. I don't even own a bluray player.
A most wonderful movie I've watched many times. A masterpiece IMHO.
The heights of refinement that you find in French cinema, there is no other like it
Times are hard for dreamers.
Such a healthy and fit girl❤
This was a wonderful movie
I need an Amelie in my life..
Then become your own version of Amelie.
I'm not crying, you're crying!
I still love it! 30.04.2021
I can only compare her to Enia the Irish song writer, so moving, so beautifully compelling, as if they are angels bringing such beauty from the same place!!! Thank you Amelie.
I love this film so much. I watch it every year or two.
Its really a masterpiece of cinema the likes of which I may never see another example of. Its a gift to the world as far as I am concerned.
One of my favorite films. I'd love to look like Audrey but beyond the superficial - and the film's a visual feast! Her mission - to mend hearts...What could be mistaken for mediocrity esp by "wanting ever more" this film with "humble" poor folks, eccentrics, all those brands of cigarettes! I can't explain, not less is more, in its quirky playing with time, the era is not exact, I cant express what this gem of a fim does. Somebody smart can and in fewer words. TO ANYBODY WHO HASNT SEEN IT, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE BLUE OR LONELY OR BROKE, WATCH IT, PURE MAGIC. For once the hype is true! Namaste
To mend heartsssss❤❤❤
Beautiful cinematography
One of the most touching moment of a superb movie...
Revoir ce film avec autant de joie ♡•°~~`~
"The pinch, Bretodeau!"
