I hate people who use watches for investing. They ruin the whole market for genuine collectors.
Pretty much a agree. But there some amout of safety attached to it for us who dont have really deep pockets.
Very happy to hear your experience went smoothly and you are a satisfied customer. I'm very interested in buying a watch from Chrono24 from Japan. Can you tell us about the customs and import taxes for this purchase? Did you have to do anything additional to get it properly processed and, if you don't mind, how much tax and fees were levied and how was it calculated? Any info you can share is greatly appreciated!
Thanks! Import taxes depends on which country you live in, should be easy to find out :) My country asks for above 20% of purchasing price in import taxes.
Very useful video. I'm in same boat, thinking of getting an Aqua Terra sometime this year, which would be a big buy for me,but have no experience with Chono24.
Thanks! Which AT?
Thank you for the advice! Never bought a watch online like this, very helpful!
Thank you! Hope you enjoy your new watch!
How much import taxes and VAT did you have to pay on top of the purchase price? And did DHL charge it at the door or did you receive an invoice later in the mail?
I was nailed by DHL with a watch from Germany.. never again
Invoice in the mail. Taxes vary from country to country.
is purchasing from a private party safe though? i dont see any protection chrono24 gives if your purchasing private seller
Good question. Haven't tested. But would think Chrono24 takes care of it.
But I am paranoid of the fact that I will get a fake one.. Does chrono24 guarentee that the watch is original? Do they test the watch for authenticity before sending?
No, they don't. But, the money is frozen by Chrono until you give the green light, so I usually bring it to my AD for a check.
Im contemplating buying the exact same watch from japan on chrono24. A friend of mine is in japan and has agreed to bring the watch back home. This way i avoid steep import duties in my country. However, I am unsure wether this is a good idea, as im unsure if i can return it from my home country, when it was delivered in japan. Any thoughts? This will also be my first luxury watch purchase.
Aha! I can only anser for myself. If I was sure about keepeing the watch I would do ahead :) But I know myself well, and I change my mind a lot. Having paid import taxes makes an easier sell. And you might check into insurance in your country, not legal with items where import hasn't been paid for over here.
‘Zed’ is not a letter. Whole thing too sing songy like it for women or something
Some great tips here, especially vital to ask those questions. Not a big Rolex fan myself but that model is certainly a beauty.
Thank you very much!
What about private sellers? Prices are lower… Worth to risk?
I must admit I haven't dared yet..
I'm trying to find someone who has done this as well. There is a Rolex GMT II from a private seller, unworn, that looks to be a great deal. But looks can be deceiving. Time for some due diligence...and hopefully I can find some buyers who have had a great experience.
Great video! I am planning to buy a New Seiko SPB143 watch on chrono24 through a seller in Japan. The price is excellent compared to prices in Europe or the United States. (Japan USD $779 vs EU/USA USD $1250). Should that scare me or raise suspicions about the authenticity of the piece? The seller has the Authenticity Guarantee by Chrono24 Buyer Protection. Thank you.
I was sceptical when i first bought of Chrono as well, but the process is quite safe. Read other peoples experreiences with the seller. Also, the money is in Chrono's hands until you give the okay. So I received the watch, checked it, then confirmed.
@@cohan.forcer Thank you very much!
chrono24 is good
Agree :)
My AD told me they weren’t even excepting people on the waiting list anymore. So how else am I supposed to buy one lol
:(
seems like an ad
Maybe I should ask for a partnership? ;)
How to buy? Dont, import charges
I have had the very unpleasant experience of buying a watch on chrono24, bad communication and worse customer service
Private or store? Sorry to hear.

Never buy a watch as an investment , unless you can afford to write the money off totally , watches are not the best form of investment by a long shot.
Nope, but some models are.
@@cohan.forcer really ,,, have you seen the market at the moment ?
I gave 32 pounds each for both my 5517s and little more for my 6538 , as a guy wanted a quartz seiko when he sold it ,,,, thats the price of two houses now for less than two hundred quid then ,,, so I will listen to any advice you have to offer .
who the fuck checks the watches ?
Sorry?
They dont, they look at your invoice, If its DHL youll pay an import fee... or you dont get the watch
What store was it? I want to purchase the same model. Thank you
Asutaba Inc. :)
