- In this video I talk about a horrifying scam I faced when selling a watch on Chrono24. Unfortunately for me, Chrono24 sided with the scammer and I lost both my money, and my watch. I turn this video around with a Seiko SNXS77 Giveaway towards the end of the video.

It’s sad that there are people out there scamming others who work hard for what they have. I hope this matter gets resolved in a justifiable manner. I would also report that watch stolen.

I am really sorry for you... I also started selling on C24 as a Casio authorized dealer couple months ago and now am dealing with a plethora of problems all contracted weirdly in the same 72 hours in the middle of the night... It went really well for about 3 months and then... Its frustrating and exhausting to say the least when you work really hard to make the best. I wish you the best for the future.
I have bought from Chrono 24. A solution to your problem would have been done by the same way my seller did for me. The seller took a video of the watch, placing it in the shipping box, and taping the box closed. The seller then sent me a copy of the video. This also set me at ease knowing I was getting what U purchased and protected the seller from scamers. This would eliminate issues such as these for this seller.
That’s a possibility but unless you show the video uncut driving to the post office and handing it off I feel like it’s not enough. One word against another. Crappy scenario
That might've helped, but as Watch & Unwind has said, you would probably need a full. uncut video, for it to be decided in your favour beyond reasonable doubt.
@@dilshantime3101 I did not know this was a trial and proof was needed "beyond reasonable doubt." Here is a typical discussion in which advice is provided in order to help. The advice can be taken or discarded. Trying something is better than doing nothing like it was the case here. I guess providing advice is discouraged now a days. I will do like most, in the future, and remain silent. Oh, that is a right also.
@@WatchUnwind the last time I sold a luxury good that is exactly what I did. I the item in an open box to the UPS store and didn't begin recording until I was there. The video showed me packing and shipping the item all the way through without pause including the shipping label and transaction with the shipping clerk and a view of the receipt with tracking number to close out the video. A small camera like a go pro is ideal for this.

However the seller cant answer when i asked if all parts are original (he said there is no documentation provided to him when he procured the watch). Is that even possible? The seller rating is 4.8 and Japan based. Let me know your thoughts if this is sketchy!

This exact same thing happened to me on Ebay when selling a watch. Ebay immediately sided with the buyer and he didn't even have any evidence like a video. It's a scam by the buyer and it's a shame that these companies are siding with the buyer without making any effort. I also had proof from UPS regarding the shipping weights. I hope there is a class action lawsuit against Ebay and Chrono24 regarding this matter.
I am about to sell a watch on Chrono24, Do you think this could have been avoided with video proof of you packaging the watch at the UPD/Fedex office with recorded weight on video as you hand it over to be shipped? I've also considered requiring the buyer pick it up at a UPS/Fedex office so the weight is tracked at each location.
What!? Why doesn’t chrono verify the items before sending them to the buyer like stockx does? Wow. This is unacceptable. I was about to sell a watch with the app but im out.
That’s why you have to get ur packages insured and make sure you show them what’s in the box

hi bruhh, thanks for the video. i do have poor oppinion about buying a watch anywhere else but its online shop. i been in china i been i seen all that. for me after watching your video if you didn't get payed for the watch then you should report it to police get a paperwork and report the serial to website where-ever that is so the thief cannot resale or service the watch or if try he be charged for stealing the watch and looking for a few years of jail time.
I would like to buy a watch and don't like what happend to Rolex..etc.

I have heard many folks successfully buying from there and the fact that somebody can get away with this kind of criminal act does nothing but simply damage the site's reputation and discourages more sellers to ever sell on there.
that is a typical scam.. happening other sites like Vinted too. The buyer claims that the product is not authentic, asks for his money back, and then resends you back a fake product.
it's a shame what people are doing, but i guess that's just the world we live in.
It's too bad that you had such trouble with the buyer. I've had no troubles with them thus far. I always have the shipping company pack the watch for me to avoid any problems. I would hesitate selling on ebay because they charge 15% selling fees. Good luck in the future.

I have tried with that company, not good results, different prices showing from day to day, the app not good as things don't update. I will give them a miss now.
It's very simple to prove the watch was in the box,when you shipped."the weight of box shipped"through my experience when you mail something or ship something the weight it
So how can that happen on Chrono 24. I thought the money and the watch went to Chrono first and then the watch wen to buyere and money went to seller? That you should take your and a scam out of the picture
nope, the money goes to chrono24 and the seller has to ship the watch to the buyer. once the buyer receives it and everything is well, chrono24 releases the payment to the seller.

Very strange - you should be able to prove your case just showing the weight of the package on the shipping form. I believe every shipping company records the weight of the package. If you can establish by the weight of the shipment that the watch was included you should be able to prove your case quite easily.

Had the same problem with Chrono24 and Fairfield Prestige. A disaster dealing with them. Wasted £3100 and feel defrauded.
What ended up happening?
Chrono24 refunded the buyer, so I basically got no watch and no money.
That"s true with any platform, IMO. Sellers don't have the protections as buyers. Alternatives are going thru a middleman like a verification service or selling outright to a known reputable gray dealer. These are obviously at a cost. Ultimately the individual has to gauge the risks.
What I dont understand is.. how to refute this? Like, if you took a video of you putting a watch in a box, that doesn't prove anything? Then why does it prove it when the buyer does it? Makes no sense.
It is the disadvantage of being a seller, unfortunately.

BBB Better Business Bereau should know about this situation. And people might check on companies at the BBB platform for ratings.
How about finding a user that is local to fraudster that can go photograph them wearing the watch 🤷♂️
The weight of the package, l assume would be on the receipt and that should be proof.
I am sure Chrono 24 will watch this individual l doubt they will do it twice and get away with it.

I cant believe Chrono24 is not a “middleman” when it comes to shipping. We’re talking about thousands of dollars here. I thought seller would ship it to chrono24 then chrono24 would check it and send it to the buyer. Imagine sending a patek then the buyer saying there’s no watch inside the box and chrono siding with the buyer with this bullshit.

Did you take photos at the Post Office or the shipping office to show that the watch was in the box. What if it was stolen in transit? Is the insurance company or shipper saying it wasn't it? Fight this BS, mate! Why do they side with the buyer? Well because sellers are a dime a dozen and begging for a platform. They need buyers to keep them in business.
Yep I did try fighting, the shipping company says it was delivered and that's as much as they have told us. I've fought hard, but Chrono24 keep closing each case I open, so it is very difficult for me.

I’ve sent multiple emails, files numerous claims, but to no avail. Chrono24 simply believe that the video evidence is more valuable to their decision-making than the information provided by the shipping company. 🙃

You should halve videod yourself packing up the watch into the package and sending it off. Then you have a better chance of his word against yours. You can even seal it with a wax seal and show this in the video and when given to UPS or what ever delivery service show the seal with the signature across it.

The post office weights the package so if the buyer is claiming the watch wasn't in the box then the weight of the package would match that claim. The weight of the package tells the truth.
