I have owned mine new since 1991, I have owned so many watches over the years . they have all come and gone and this is again the only watch I own. Mine has fabulous patina and runs at about + 3 a week. No issues and only serviced once in all that time. I never take it off and it does not get babied at all. Its simply the best one watch collection. Its......Just so cool and so right, even the bracelet is superbly comfy regardless of what people say about them. A good choice.

I just got myself an Orient Kanno Green for 170 USD and I feel no need to dish out 2000 USD on these boring Seikos. Seiko is greedier and greedier these days.

Absolutely perfect dimension for your wrist and timeless design. Love the positioning of the watch below the wrist bone. Watching your videos, I have the impression that I am looking at my own wrist since I have the same exact long and skinny structure (my wrist size is around 6.5 inches and my preferred range of watches is 36-39 mm). Super underrated channel !

With the hundreds of micro brands now available, it’s quite disappointing to see the same few always touted as “the best”, it’s like always seeing Omega,Tudor,Rolex, it’s getting boring. Sorry to whinge but really it’s just lazy content in my view. Do some research & come up with brands we haven’t seen a million times already.

Hard to match with black?... yea, someone needs to help you with your color pallette and fashion advice! Navy blue is a fantastic nuetral color that works with virtually anything. It's versatility is very comparabile to blue without being obvious in the way that black is. Plus when paired with a monochromatic outfit like a black suit, it can be that subtle hint of color that stands out.

Anything less than a 20mm bracelet is for women tbh, why the newer 36s are nowhere near as good looking/rugged looking, they are becoming more jewellery than tool watches

For me, it’s the most compelling of the current Seikos. But I don’t know why they added more water resistance rather than making it even slimmer. I’d prefer 200m and <12mm any day.

Please Seiko drop that X to make it more like a vintage Seiko, a signed crown. And just a simple 300M on the dial. Less is more when it comes to classic retro style.

The brushed grey colours were iconic and a great shame if they are gone for good. The clasp in particular is inexcusable at this price point in 2024. Otherwise great watch though the innacurate movement is a shame

I wish they kept the brushed bezel of the spb143 and made the bracelet tapered to 16 cm. That would be my ideal Seiko.

The Seiko watch is a great timepiece, and it is unlikely to attract unwanted attention or theft compared to my Omega Seamaster chronometer. Additionally, the Seiko watch has superior lume and a more impressive power reserve than the Omega Seamaster.

I tried one on a few days ago. Very attractive, perfect proportions, I was definitely tempted (even moreso when offered a 20% discount). A few things ruined it for me though - I dont like the look of the aluminium bezel insert (I thought the steel one on previous models was cool), and the bezel action felt the same as my Seiko 5, smooth but very light clicks and some backplay. Sounds silly but I just couldn't get over the bezel feel. If I'm going to pay over £1000 for a Seiko it needs to be perfect

To me, the 143 is better. Brushed bezel, grey dial, little bit bigger and chunkier which I like and also 4 micro adjust holes.

How well does the movement keep time? I think it is a great looking watch and it has Tudor Pelagos looks. Only thing I am a bit skeptic is the movement because 6r35 movement is not a good movenent so I wonder if this is better?

Looks great on the sailcloth!! How much does the watch weight when you put it on a strap? I'm guessing less than 90g?
