ahh come on. the new marinemaster 200 is just the start of a new line for seiko. the mm300 will be released soon - google "SLA079"... they have already been leaked. i can also imagine we will see professional tunas next year with mm text on the dial.
You could always buy a Citzen Fujitsubo Diver with a titanium bracelet which looks very similar to this watch. Of course the Citizen Watch only has 200M water resistance. I really like how Seiko increased the water resistance by 100M over the 62 MAS with without increasing the case thickness of the watch.
@@reilly-vc1rm definitely not. Just the fact that the marine master has historically been 300m, but they’ve dropped it to 200m, but then give these 300m.
@@cohan.forcer Exactly ; eye of the beholder. I prefer the newer models because they have LESS chunky dimensions , and therefore closer to the classic 62MAS archetype.
How well does the movement keep time? I think it is a great looking watch and it has Tudor Pelagos looks. Only thing I am a bit skeptic is the movement because 6r35 movement is not a good movenent so I wonder if this is better?
I have 2 4r36 and after a watchmaker regulates it they both run with approx. 2-4 secs per day. Out of factory you can be lucky to get a movement that run on a similar time. The movement isn’t „crab“, just need some love and it will run as there is no end for you😊
I've mine new spb451 and it has gain 16 sec from last thursday to today, wednesday... Instead my alpinist 1959, 6r35, needs adjustment, because it loses also 30 seconds per day.
Please Seiko drop that X to make it more like a vintage Seiko, a signed crown. And just a simple 300M on the dial. Less is more when it comes to classic retro style.
The Seiko watch is a great timepiece, and it is unlikely to attract unwanted attention or theft compared to my Omega Seamaster chronometer. Additionally, the Seiko watch has superior lume and a more impressive power reserve than the Omega Seamaster.
The brushed grey colours were iconic and a great shame if they are gone for good. The clasp in particular is inexcusable at this price point in 2024. Otherwise great watch though the innacurate movement is a shame
I tried one on a few days ago. Very attractive, perfect proportions, I was definitely tempted (even moreso when offered a 20% discount). A few things ruined it for me though - I dont like the look of the aluminium bezel insert (I thought the steel one on previous models was cool), and the bezel action felt the same as my Seiko 5, smooth but very light clicks and some backplay. Sounds silly but I just couldn't get over the bezel feel. If I'm going to pay over £1000 for a Seiko it needs to be perfect
@@cohan.forcer I'm glad it's not just me. Despite some reviewers proclaiming Seiko divers have a fantastic bezel action, every one I've got my hands on has felt exactly the same, and not in a good way. I just got myself an Orient Kanno Green for 170 USD and I feel no need to dish out 2000 USD on these boring Seikos. Seiko is greedier and greedier these days.
@@cohan.forcer , I love this Kanno even more than my Kamasu (also in Green, but it's that teal/dark green version). Great video mate. Content and videography spot on! I just subscribed!
I wish they kept the brushed bezel of the spb143 and made the bracelet tapered to 16 cm. That would be my ideal Seiko.
They copy the BB58 with anodised aluminium material on its bezel. For me it looks better. 👍🏼
To me, the 143 is better. Brushed bezel, grey dial, little bit bigger and chunkier which I like and also 4 micro adjust holes.
Matter of taste I guess👍🏽
