In the Bleak Mid Winter - Steam Trains

- Saturday, December 9, 2017 started as a damp, gray, unpleasant day.
Highlight was to be the 12 steam train round trips operated by the Valley Railroad in Essex, CT. The first Santa Special departed Essex at 9:30 in the morning, and the two train sets made 6 trips. It started snowing around 11:00, and by afternoon, everything was white! Then, at 3:00 PM, the first of 6 North Pole Express trains departed. These run mainly at night, and I was too tired and cold to stay until dark. Please enjoy your visit. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
This is az really beautiful journey here! I love it a whole lot!
I remember riding number 3,025 train when I was four years old. The train use to work for the Knox and Kane Railroad and was #58 in Kane, Pennsylvania. It's great to see they brought it back to life after she was in a Roundhouse fire back in 2008. Miss that old steam engine. "Take care of her please Valley Railroad!"
Love the different vantage points😊
Great video. Brought back memories of another time😎
Wonderful images. Good work. Enjoyed the video very much. The scene at Hadlyme crossing was picture postcard worthy as the engine reached the little station house just before the crossing.
Beautiful.
We're singing this in my concert Thursday, haha. Nice choice of music.
Snow had fallen snow on snow, sno ho ho on snow... ;) That's my favorite choral song :)
My brother-in-law Vin knew these trains well. I miss him and Pauline!
Great job!
a dream land to me. just wonderful
Got to drive 3025, best experience of my life :D
Mid-winter? That was filmed in the late fall if it was actually filmed on December 9th! But nonetheless, what a storm that hit Connecticut yesterday; so early in December.
TomedysTrains Meteorological Winter starts Dec. 1. It's astronomical winter on Dec. 21.
epic

yes not bad disguises for a Chinese built SY 2-8-2
anna jeannette Dixon You are correct, no American here, Chinese built and made to look American.
