- The mighty R1150GS. The trails of Cappadocia. What could possibly go wrong? I team up with Niclas to learn some off-roading tips before taking to the sandy tracks and famous chimneys of Turkiye's Cappadocia region.
Warning: falls and stunning landscapes - strong language included.

See you on the road!
Don't know if I'm more impressed by the amazing landscape or by the impressive maneuvers you and Nick executed on the trails. Beautiful and informative. TY!
Ferdia, I can highly recommend the BMW off-road training courses - at least the ones in Australia. I was in my late 50's when I got my first GS and the weekend course was invaluable. Two lessons I learnt which have saved me many times since: 1) Always look where you want to go. 2) Momentum is your friend. The instructor must've said point 2 a million times over the weekend and it's impregnated in my brain. By the way, the courses here you ride your own bike, no matter what the size. Ride safe mate.
That place is gorgeous
Unreal 😲
Yes, Nicks's right. You did a fucking great job Ferdia!!!
😁🤞🏽🫡
Brave Ferdia. Nick has knowledge but it really comes down to just you and the bike. And she came thru as always for you. The landscape was like nothing I have ever seen. But for me watching those tires navigate those trails stole the show. 🏍 joy ❤️😎
That's all I was watching too 😝 and yes the old girl didn't let me down (despite me letting her down a few times.... Literally 🤭)
Tyres make a huge difference.
I think you did very well. The GS is a huge machine that Can go off road. The T700 is built for it. Stunning stunning video mate. I definitely want to go there!!!
Thanks a mil! I have 80/20's on at the moment, and sure they're a bit better than the pure road tires I had on for the last leg, but I could've definitely done with a bit more bite on this particular terrain 😬 but then I still ride road too much to warrant putting knobbies on I reckon 🤔
@unOrdinaryWorld you don't need them. The kind of riding you are doing.......most of the time doesn't warrant the expense and excessive road noise. What your doing is epic and to be fair your riding in this video is amazing. I reckon on a smaller machine your quite a proficient rider.
Try a XR650l you will find it feels like a mountain bike after learning the ropes on your magnificent stead.
Great video mate 👍
Gorgeous!!! The trail, your manoeuvres, the landscape.
Must have been so much fun!
That it was! Glad you enjoyed : )
Fun stuff! It's a beautiful part of the world to get up close and personal with on the trails. It's a good thing you decided not to go into that sand. With the weight of your road bike, you would have been up to your hubs in no time. Safe travels, Ferdia!
I'd have been swimming in it alright 😅 thanks James 🥰
So fun to watch your trip! Thanks for the amazing videos and say hello to my country!
I'm very happy here 🥰
Brilliant vlog as always. Have you seen the balloons in the early morning. That is spectacular to watch. Have you managed to srt your clutch out in the end?
Thanks Paul! Clutch hasn't gotten any worse, am confident she'll make it to the end of this leg without any work. Hopefully then I'll have a bit of cash to sort her out before the next leg later in the year 🤞🏽🤞🏽
