  • In today's tutorial, I teach users how the Additional Apps feature in LaunchBox works, and how you can utilize it to create an unlimited amount of customization options for any number of your games.
    You can utilize it to mount discs, run bat files that execute any number of commands, load manuals, guides, cheat lists, playlist files, video files, or literally any number of things you'd want to.

      In our ToS: any babies that are made in conjunction with LaunchBox, when mature at the age of 18, must forfeit 40% of their income to Unbroken Software. I mean cmon now, doesn't anyone read those. ;)

    Day 1: Got launch box premium
    Day 2: Setup launchbox and ordered a GameCube adapter
    Day 32: I haven't seen natural light in weeks. Still trying to beat paper Mario.

    Perfect solution for games with multiple discs, thought for sure the extra files were going to have to stay.

      It's my fault; I'm forcing Brad to spend more time on the videos and less time on the forums.

      Technically this feature has been here for at least a year and a half? Potentially 2, I'm just now starting to also cover existing features. The systems were a priority, then a few of the new features, and now we're getting in to it.

    I don't want to do this game by game since i have over 200 games :(

    What's the best way to bulk edit additional apps?. I'd like to select all games in PS1 and put an option to also launch all the games in EPSXE etc. Thanks

    That's great and all, but how can I tell at a glance, or search for games that have additional content?

    Any way to have a general background music file in the menu that stops when you launch a game?

      Not yet, but this is planned. There is a ticket for it over on Bitbucket.

    I have a question i noticed under the edit option on my launch box for every game under other tab theres a music tab and a video path... I put music for all my games which i love the way it looks and sound but when i put a video on the box i noticed no video shows:( is there a reason for this? Please help thanks

    • @SentaiBrad
      @SentaiBrad Před 7 lety

      Is the video there but not automatically playing? The video shows up in the Game Details side bar or in BigBox. You can only have 1 type of media autoplay at once, Music or Video, not both. If you autoplay the music, but not the video, you can right click or left click (depends on the video engine you choose in LaunchBox) to then play the video, and the music will pause while it plays. Under the view option in the menu is the auto-play options for each. If the video isn't showing up, then go to Tools -> Options -> Game Details (on the left). There are check boxes here to hide and show various options in the Game Details Side Bar, Videos being one of them.
      Also, as long as the music and video is named after the rom file or the name of the game inside of LaunchBox, you can also just put them in the proper music and video folder. Inside of each is a platform name, just put the video file in the proper master and sub folder.

    How To Use Cheats On EPSXE Using This LaunchBox Emulator? +LaunchBox And Also Swap disc?

  • @justsomebody-1665
    @justsomebody-1665 Před 8 lety

    I use this for TIE Fighter (ms-dos).
    The game asks for a code contained in the manual as a sort of proto-drm, so I have Launchbox set to open a game manual pdf when I run the game so I can find the code I need.

    Thats funny, i just uploaded a video showcasing my BigBox update preview and i have created my own GameGuides/FAQ tabs for each system so when i open it up it will open Chrome in Fullscreen Kiosk mode and it will enable Controller companion so it lets me browse the FAQs of that particular system in a clean fullscreen window with no "Windows" borders, unfortunately shadowplay didnt capture it properly so i had to cut it out :( ... and for manuals i also use CBR with Controller Companion so i the Manuals launch in fullscreen mode and i can browse them with my controller. i never knew about displayfusion but it sounds like it could come it very handy for some situations. Thanks

    This is very handy, but I wish there was a way to apply this to the emulators as well. Like I wanna add an xpadder profile that does just one thing presses ESC after holding select on a controller for 3 sec.

    • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC
      @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC  Před 8 lety

      That's a good point, Birm. Not a bad idea. Something like this is already possible with AutoHotkey (you could even come up with an AutoHotkey script to run Xpadder). But feel free to add a Bitbucket ticket for that. :)
