  • Luigi's Mansion 3 may be one of the most charming Mario bros games out there. It even outsold Super Mario Maker 2! His series always tries something new and with Gooigi by your side there's nothing you two can't accomplish. Mario and friends are captured by King Boo and it's up to Luigi to use his vacuum, plunger, and flashlight to clear out this tower of terror and save them. Let's jump into my Luigi's Mansion 3 review!

    I will never understand the concept 'count for one, not for all' in multiplayer modes.
    It basically turns anyone else you play with into your worst enemies cause whilst they are good to help in general, they can turn into the worst people whenever they steal shit you need.

      I think it further emphasizes the need for playing with friends for coordination. In version 1 I was fine with playing with Randos, but with the DLC packs I found myself preferring the company of one friend as opposed to two to three Randos, especially the ones who are trolls, have absolutely no idea what they’re doing, or didn’t know how the hidden Hammer/Goob rooms worked. The thing that I like most about Luigi’s character is how they’ve really flushed him out. Case in point, when he encounters the pharaoh ghost, and has a moment where he goes “oooh!” like he thinks the pharaoh looks beautiful was a cute moment that made me think about who Luigi is as a gentler character. :-)

      I think you mean "fleshed" him out, and I highly agree. It makes me think of LM1 where you could scan things with your Gameboy Horror and Luigi's thoughts on it could actually be read. Also the cutscenes in dark moon and before/after mission things would flesh out Luigi. Cutscenes usually showing how he reacts to a new mechanic and before and after a mission Luigi would talk with e gadd which had small things like him saying “awww” when e gadd tells him to do something hard. Absolutely. A 100% run is usually done when you love the game and actually truly want to 100% it, not when it's your job and you're doing it under a rather strict timeline. I love the show but its sort of an inherent flaw in the format. I don't think "It's way too much work and not very fun to 100% complete this game in under a week" should be a major point in a game's overall quality, but it still ends up influencing Jirards overall opinion on the experience.

    • @zjzr08
      @zjzr08 Před 3 lety +7

      Yeah, lots of games with completion targets usually last MONTHS or even a year, because you're kinda expected to play them intermittently after "story mode" to find new stuff and still have enjoyment of the game, but it's kinda turning into speedrunning in trying to complete the game as fast as they can.

      Mortal Kombat 9 was another example. He tried to do all acheiments of that game in 30 days. Those acheivments are supposed to take several months, maybe even over a year to fully unlock, and he just decided to get it all in a month. And then after talking about the game like it was the most boring thing in the whole universe, to the point of saying "when it comes to MK9, I stopped having fun really eary on".. I get that doing everything in that game, getting all the acheivments and all is really not viable, MK 9 isn't a "complete it", definitely, but he really undersold it with his review.

Those online only collectibles/achievements are only there to keep you playing for an inordinate and unnecessarily long amount of time and often kill the enjoyment I otherwise had for the game.
