How to Change Engine Oil & Filter 2021 Chevy Traverse 3.6L engine - Reset Oil Life Indicator to 100%

Today we change the engine oil and filter and reset the oil life indicator to 100% on the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse LT 3.6 Liter engine. This is the 6-cylinder engine and should be the same for 2018-2021 models. Plug torque 18 ft lbs

The oil capacity for the 2021 Chevy Traverse LT 3.6L engine is 6 quarts. SAE 5W-30 synthetic oil is recommended.
It is recommended to change Your oil and oil filter every 7,500 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first. You can extend Your engine life, get better gas mileage, and have better performance if You change your oil regularly. Routine oil and filter changes help remove particles and sludge from the engine. If the oil isn't changed, Your vehicle's engine will start to have a lot of problems. Over time the oil will become thinner, abrasive, and will start to wear down on vital engine parts. Synthetic oil is by far better for performance. It protects the engine due to lower levels of friction.

To reset the oil life indicator to 100%... Start the vehicle.
Using the arrows and check mark on the right side of the steering, get to vehicle info.
Then scroll down till you get to oil life.
Then push the check mark to reset.
It will ask, are you sure you want to reset?.
Scroll to yes by pressing the right arrow.
and press the check mark to accept Yes. and it’ll reset to 100%.

Great video. I’ll be doing the next oil & filter change. The first time for our 2022 Traverse was free. But future oil and filter changes will cost almost $100. I can do it for half that amount, and I trust myself more than an entry-level “mechanic” at the Chevrolet dealership.
