- How to change Oil and Filter in a 2011 Equinox. 2010 & up Ecotec
engines use the same procedure.
I know this engine calls for DEXOS labeled motor oil BUT this Vehicle is out of warranty and uses FAR LESS conventional motor oil and runs great! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Yea that oil filter sucks bad!!! Thank you this helped greatly!!!
Thanks this helped me a lot to find the oil filter
There are many vids that show you FRAM filters are the very worse filters.. Thank you for the video
Only get the premium FRAM filter. It's the only one that's still any good from that company.
I have seen those videos as well, but I have used Fram filters for years. I put 280,000 miles on an 87 Olds Cutlass using nothing but Fram oil filters.
Thanks a ton. Great explanations
Bought a cheap socket from Walmart... Works well 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank You 😊
Have you had a problem with your timing chain? I have the same model and I read on a few forums that there is a problem with the timing chain. Just wondering.
Chevy replaced mine along with a butt load of other parts including pistons, rings and rods then extended my warranty. There's a number of service bulletins and even a recall for cam chain failures and excessive oil consumption. It's partly because of the 15,000 mile oil change interval the car originally recommended. They cut it in half because the engines were running low on oil between changes because most people won't check their oil level and the engines were consuming the oil due to defective piston rings.
Yeah I don't think mine's had anything done except road hardened put up wet but they won't warranty it
you should always change the O ring....i mean why not it comes with each filter.
The 32MM socket for the oil filter was $29 when I filmed this Video-so i modified a Craftsman socket.
The O ring that was already on the car wasn't leaking and in good condition so i chose to reuse it.
Thanks for watching and your response.
Pot heads are lazy lol. My buddy does the same half assed shit.
You always change the o ring dude...
Why not just buy the socket? It's only like 5 dollars...... lol and why woulnt you change the O ring if you get a new one everytime you buy a filter!?
He's won't even buy the correct oil for his engine because "it runs fine" using cheap Walmart non-Dexos oil. I'm surprised he bothered to replace the filter. It will run fine without one.
@@terrywaters6186 lol right .. considering these motors are junk due to oil problems you would think he would spend the extra 15 dollars and use some mobile one and pray that the exhaust valves dont gum up with shitty oil.
Suppose to use synthetic oil in 2011 Chevrolet equinox.
that what i use full synthetic bleand i got a 2011 equinox
Yep, and set it on an angle and pour it again 😂
Chevrolet out of their fucking mind
Is not 4.1 qt
Engine lubricant oil capacity: 4.7 liter / 5 U.S. qt / 4.1 imp. qt So 5 quarts U.S. or 4.1 Imperial quarts
Always change that oil ring always never put the old one back please don't not good
Cheap oil
Inexpensive. But good quality.
You dont have the proper oil.I would only stick that Walmart oil in peoples car that I dont like.
Jason Virnig -oil is made by Chevron. Meets or exceeds all manufacture requirements and I’ve been using it for the last 60,000 miles with excellent results.
Walmart oil (SuperTech) is just fine. Been using it for many, many years. It meets all specs and is latest SAE rating of SN motor oil shown on back of the bottle.
Involving the equinox and the oil burning problem. For some reason the chevy synthetic at the dealer seems to burn off a lot slower. Just a fyi. It burns up slower than mobile one or any other. Super tech is crap we have done our own testing when i went to automotive college.
Only the gays use super tech
