Nothing like a night in the backyard. It's wild how visible everything is from that hammock.

It's nice having it so close by. The see-thru-ness takes a little getting used too

So beautiful! I was just on the trail a few weeks ago w KTA and was just blown away by how beautiful the Butler Run section is. I look forward to getting back over there w my family. Thx for pointing out all the nice camp spots.

The KTA has been doing a phenomenal job on the PTS... it is very much appreciated.

Nice spot for a overnighter. Glad your GoPro took that drop like a champ!

Dude, I thought the GoPro was toast. Landed right on the lens with a pop, didn't bounce or anything. I picked the right day to camp there, there's usually more people there.

Really great campsite! I’ve hiked in Pinchot but never camped. I have to get out there this year and camp. That’s very light for a full featured hammock. Really nice camping trip!

It is a very nice campsite. Even though it was a Monday I was surprised no one else was there being as close to the road as it is. If you head up to Pinchot let me know maybe we can do a trip together. The RedTail in C71 is very light if not a little scary. lol

Awesome video. I setup right near the waterfall my last trip out there.
I love winter trips because of all the trinkets I bring with, but the transition to summer gear is a nice change and ultralight!
The Redtail is the best full featured hammock in the market, I own hammocks from different cottage companies , but the Hemlock Mountain Outdoors is my favorite full featured hammock by far. It cannot be beat.
I love the look of my UL Redtail but be very careful with the C71

I was thinking of camping near the falls on this trip, but the Butler Run area is usually pretty busy so I figured while I had it to myself I'd take it.
Thank you! I know there are hammocks out there with more "bells and whistles" but from the beginning I've worked with the motto "No gimmicks, just gear."
      Very, very careful with C71

Thanks for the preview....Only have done the North part of the trail. May head there this week or next.
The "Deals" are those who are bad at math. WaWa or Sheetz the next time,

Both North and South are nice, they each have their own "feel" to them. There a small shop I usually got to for a hoagie when I'm heading over to Pinchot for a trip like this but they have the ramp closed on the highway for replacement so it's a long way around to get there. Between the 2 it would be Sheetz, simply because there no Wawa's between me and Pinchot.

How did I miss this vid earlier? I love it along Butler Run. Thanks for sharing. BTW...I hope everything is alright with you? Haven't seen a vid from you in a month or so.

That worked well that you forgot the fire kit, but you couldn't use it with the fire ban anyway. This is a really pretty area.

      @KurtZitzelman  Před 4 měsíci +1

I usually don't care about the fire, but it was the coffee in the morning that had me bummed lol

I laugh every time I watch your videos and you say, so this time I forgot... But you never get bent outta shape about it and still enjoy your trip. I feel like I'm bound to forget something every time as well but I'm hoping I'll be able to just go with the flow when it does happen! Great video!

Hey you've gotta be getting close to starting your backpacking career!
On an overnight camp there's really not much you can forget that can ruin the trip... maybe your shelter. Other than that it's really only a few hours out in the woods, nothing to worry about. If worse came to worse I could have walked the 10-15 minutes back to the car and drove to the local gas station or Dollar General and bought a lighter. I wound up doing that, but buying a duraflame log, one winter trip because it was snowing so hard it kept putting my fire out lol
One of your best tools for survival (not that this was a survival situation) is a cool head.
