3:19 The way he sounds when he tries to speak after being strangled cracks me up every time.
I love that he was only falling out of consciousness for a matter of seconds, because it's realistic. People don't remain unconscious for hours and hours like what hollywood shows. It's usually only for a matter of seconds or a few minutes at the most, unless if there's much more serious. And the hoarse voice after being strangled was a good touch as well. Love Benedict's acting!

Then again, the inhaling-exhaling-bit with some coughing was very unrealistic.
Usually you make very loud, shallow inhaling noises (I find it sounds like a donkey, you go; 'HhhhhhhIIiiIIiiiiiIiiiiiieeeeeeHHHHHH!' for inhaling and 'ÁáááÁHhhhrrghh!!" for exhaling.)
Also, your face will turn (more) grey or blue/green after having been choked, and during it's red or purple/pink.
There'll be veins visible around the face, people's eyes usually bulge a little, it's not as "cool" as it looks on here.

:P I never suggested we should, god forbid anything happens to B.C., but they could've added a bit less coughing and a bit more shallow-inhaling with squeaky noises or discolouring of the face, with make up or lightning.

Childbirth is sometimes portrayed realisticly on tv and that seems more painful than to be choked. Should we portray that as unrealisticly comfortable as well?

It's really sad to see that Sherlock feels he can't admit to John that he screwed up and actually it would've been better if he let John helped him. Especially in every season finale he gets outwitted because he decided to keep John in the dark. :(

From the first moment, Sherlock acts around John like John is the new kid he is trying to impress - and laster that John became his bestie that he is trying to protect. I know that he learnt to include John more after the whole Moriarty struggle, but when it became about Sherlock’s own family and how dangerous his sister was... I think he acted on instinct.

Is it just me who was disappointed by this episode? I absolutely love the series as a whole but the murderer was way too obvious in this episode, of course there have been other obvious murderers but I was surprised they’d make it so obvious before Sherlock even appeared on screen! However I do still think that this is the single best TV show I’ve seen in a while.

This scene is actually something that really bothers me about this episode....what was Sherlock's logic? He see's a wet phonebook, automatically decrees its important and contrived coincidentally that yes the phonebook is important, it belongs to the exact person they are looking for, and this person happens to live across the road from the smuggled goods pick up location of the exact group she wants to avoid. Lot's of little things in this episode that don't make sense. Either way I still really enjoyed it :D A bad episode of Sherlock is still a great episode of TV.

He notices the water on the rug and knows that someone broke in but doesn't realize that the fact that it hasn't evaporated means it happened less than 10 minutes ago and he's probably still there?
The whole point was that he was kind of sloppy here, and even calls himself stupid not knowing and doesn’t admit to that he almost got killed.
How did he survive?
It seems he instinctively put his hands between the scarf or whatever was used to strangle him so no lasting damage was done. It helped protect his airways.

he couldn't reach the ledder and the door was locked. there was no opportunity for him to follow
or maybe he just felt uncomfortable by entering the flat like a robber and decided to wait until Sherlock would open the door for him
