Fun fact: Moriary's dancing in this scene was improvised. Andrew Scott just felt like dancing
That's amazing..
It was so... elegantly wicked. Never has dancing looked so villainous.
actually no, he was supposed to be dancing. Andrew Scott had to do the scene a few times because he "missed the beat"
Kerri Angel, seriously? Wow he was good then.
I can tell he likes to dance.
When good British tea is spilled, a catastrophe is in sight.
NOT THE TEA!!! :(
Chris Westergaard ANYTHING BUT THE TEA! :(
Just a Tea Party!
like America is about to gain independence with the boston tea party lol
Good, and british tea should not be in the same sentence.
The way he does this: completely calm and sure of himself. Unhurried. Without fear. Dancing. It's perfect.
It doesn't happen in real life.
Yea he's doing it like making breakfast with classic music

@@anthonyj.crowley7440 srsly??
I'm realizing how fun this must've been to do.
"Mr. Scott, we need you to take place gum and a diamond on this glass, then smash a fire extinguisher through it."
"...can I dance too?"
the best thing is he didn't really have to dance to it, it's just.... DAILY ANDREW AWESOMENESS
Trolliarty.
XD
what is th name of this music?
Sherlockity ? Ok ok... Stop. xD
+mng8ng "The Thieving Magpie"? Nice.
+Jack Scott It's called La Gazza Ladra- Gioacchino Rossini. Hope u find it.😊
"Sir, there's been a break in."
"Not my division!"
He said "Not our division", but it's still hilarious.
All those guys spilling their tea... must be pretty serious....
That's the point. If *Londoners*, above all, are spilling *their* tea, one knows something's up.
oh god yeah. spilling our tea means serious shit
Just like Americans spilling beer
this is why Moriarty is one of my favourite villains, he breaks into the Tower of London and the Bank of England and Pentiville Prison, three of the most secure buildings in Britian, EASILY. And the best parts is that he acts so casual about it like its not a challenge
Well, all it takes is a few willing participants...
xx And remember, reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold bye!
Well, HM Pentonville is Category B/C, so not exactly super-high security ;)
@@kylemcmullan2929 Bill Cipher is truly a beautifully crafted Villian.
If you like Moriarty, you should check out this cartoon I did on my napkin. Its the adventures of Eugene. Eugene lifts the world in one hand and eats custard cheese with the other. Cooler than Moriarty huh? Eh?
NO ONE CAN HATE MORIARTY AFTER THIS
Stevean2 Me too. Worst portrayal of the character imaginable.
#hatersgonnahate
Callaghan What? No it’s not. Criticism would be much more specific. General statements like “I hate Moriaty” won’t help Moffat or Gatiss write him in a better way.
@BlueBerryFairy1 meeeeeee
That "no rush" at the end was perfect. Moriarty is adorable.
More precious. Ordinary ones are adorable
Don't let him hear you say that. 😂
This is the epitome of a perfect villain. Breaking into these security buildings so calm, with a hint of drama. And all of this not to actually steal anything but to make a fool of everyone and to prove to them how they have no idea what's going on in his psycho mind
*Professor Quirrell:* "TROLL IN THE TOWER!!!!!! TROOOOOLLLLLLLLLL IN THE TOWER!!!! TROOLLL IN THE TOWER!!!....
Just thought you should know..."*faint*
;)
But wouldn't it be nicer to quote right?
Of course, on the other hand, Moriarty wouldn't be half as brilliant if he only broke in to some random dungeons;)
Soooo, umh, forget it
like
Isn't it troll in the dungeon?
***** yes, it is ;)
Moriarty should write a book: "How to Steal the Crown Jewels of Britain and Look Fabulous While You Do It". I know I would read it
"sir there's been a break in"
"not our division"
I LOVE YOU LESTRADE.
Moriarty is just too fabulous. He's just sooooooo changeable!
***** 0-0 he's here...well, shet.
***** I don' think they put you on trial for taking, as much as it was breaking and entering...and jailbreaking....and vault cracking....
***** Pretending to be a fictional character from a TV show? Time to grow up.

Emperor's News Clothes is the perfect song to Moriarty
you have made my day! I never thought it find a reference to p!atd my favourite band on a Moriarty video!
This is the best comment I've seen all day.
there are moments when his face looks similar to Brendon Urie's
oml. didnt even think about this
YES
The funny thing is that in this scene he looks like the sort of guy you'd go partying with... until he holds your party up with explosives just to get Sherlock's attention
yeah I'd still invite him, that would be pretty thrilling
Fun fact: I showed my best friend, who never saw a single minute of sherlock, the scene from season 4 with I want to break free and she said: Oh you want to party with that guy! 😂
Yes Jim, you were missed.
Thanks :)
***** May I join in?
***** Careful is boring? Really? I had no idea you felt that way. :'(
I love how Moriarty took his time. No worries , all part of the plan. Brilliant performance. Also I can just picture him eating breakfast that morning thinking " I'm bored..... how should I get sherlock to play?... oh perfect!".
Moriarty:It's a perfectly rainy day, why not hire a housemaid to be a serial killer? :)
Honey, I'm glad I saw you in a crown, because I will never forget it.
He HAS to be the future joker
Pedro Barbieri Cristo yep
Ah that would be AMAZING
This, but I'd settle for Riddler too
A British Joker that'd be new.
νιятυєѕ Heath is australian
Scott's performance is just brilliant. His take on the role is fantastic.
No doubt the best well done scene in sherlock...
I love that the increasing seriousness of the situation is represented by the level of tea spillage in this scene :)
british
I've always thought of Moriarty as a sofisticated version of The Joker. He's just so awesome!
BEST. SCENE. OF. THE. SHOW.
The next best is him telling Sherlock that he wants to destroy him at Baker st.
The music is the overture from ''La gazza ladra'' by Rossini
Thank you!
Thanks, just saved me what may have been a tiresome search.
Society is carried by people like you

been looking for this!
They said that the dancing part wasn't part of the script....was it true?
Brilliant acting as always, Andrew Scott! Whenever I see you, I couldn't erase your role as Moriarty in my head. Hope I'll still see you in S4. #MoriartyLives
Yeah, it wasn't originally part of the script, but he just added it in. Brilliant as usual.
+Saber Aureum (SaberOfCoxai) The dancing part make him so attractive
William Wang True. SO TRUE.
+Aurea M. (saberofcoxai) A lot of things wasn't part of the script as the scream on "That's what the people DO!" that was Andrew's ideia too
Karoline Honorato OMG. I did not know of that part! 😣
No rush
I love the bait & switch in this scene, done entirely through filmography and editing. The cuts between Moriarty breaking in and the police response are coded in such a way that you expect the police to arrive to an empty Tower, and then Moriarty surprises us yet again.
This guy should be the next Master for Doctor Who
Couldn't agree more. :)
No, he should be the Doctor.
Yaaaaas!
Definitely !!
YEESSSSSS
This is literally one of the best scenes in any TV show in existence.
YES!!!!
Facts
The best use of Rossini's La Gazza Ladra overture since A Clockwork Orange.
Sorry they made a mistake.
*Moriarty Tries on Crown Jewels*
He just wanted to see if they'd go with his ensemble and they arrested him :(
How rude
buckysnatalia- they didn’t like seeing him in a crown 👑 ☕️
@@RebeccaEleanorX Yes. But still the codes could be dangerous.
just so you guys know, the dance he did wasnt choreographed, he just did it and they kept it xD so perfect
Moriarty true goal, to make sure no one has a drink
Spilled my drink reading this comment! XD
KLProductiongermany no you didn't.
DreDeny Your name sugests, you deny everything. Is that correct?
I'm so in love with Jim Moriarty *-*
I am, too !!
So is every girl that likes the villain over the hero.
DruDragonrose But the villains are so hotttt............ with their hotness and Britishness
DruDragonrose I LOVE Sherlock just as much, and I'm not used to falling for the villain, but Jim is just too fucking perfect *-*
Yep! How can you not be?
My favorite thing about this scene is him dancing, and the fact that it wasn't in the script. That was something Andrew Scott came up with on the spot, and it's so perfect!
How well moriarty rocks that robe...
Yeah.
I have to say, this Moriarty was brilliant. He created so much chaos by only pressing buttons on his phone
I must admit, Moriarty is probably one of my favorite villains of all time. He's just so great, an exact replica of Sherlock, just evil. And what hero can really ever defeat himself? Great work, creators!!!
I like how Moriarty took the time to make little app animations. Truly he wants to put on a show.
0:38 the most iconic Lestrade moment in the series
I applaud you, Moriarty, for a job well done. We've missed you! Welcome back.
Why is Moriarty so attractive? ^_^
Most psychopaths are.....
Being a clinical psychopath myself I'd have to agree. (;
True. Although, people REALLY need to understand that clinical psychiatry is no longer reliable, as the business is now more about building finance than actually helping the sick....
Very true. Verrrrry true. I don't think I'm actually a psychopath. I just think my fascination with gore and my weird mental state comes from a love of psychology and forensics. Does make my mother worry, though. Lol
In that we have something verrry much in common.
That smiley face at 1:17 Moriarty draws is so Moriarty
*whisper/sings* : im taking back the crrrroooowwwwwwn. im all dressed up and naked
So I'm not the only one here! 😁
***** thanks :')
This fits the music more than the actual opera does. Absolutely brilliant.
I love Moriarty in this scene! He's absolutely amazing!
Oh, and Lestrade's "Not our division!" makes my life! :P
I just found out that Moriarty's sigil is a magpie. They used The Thieving Magpie as his musical theme, here, the seals in the red wax are magpie designs, and at John and Mary's wedding the birds stencilled all over the walls and windows are magpies as well as the bird on the place cards. I think we are about to find out that Mary was involved with Moriarty, as in she was his Moran. Dun dun DUNNNNNN!
HE IS LEFT HANDED *.*
The best ones are.
In Latin sinistra meant left, it was a sign of bad luck or evil, as well as left handedness. The double meaning survives to this day in the English word sinister, and there is nothing more sinister than Moriarty... :)
This scene is so epic, the music that goes with perfectly, and the acting of Andrew Scott is truly stunning! best Moriarty Ever!!
this version of James Moriarty is definitely, and by far, my favorite. He is so GOOD
Natalie Dormer is my favorite Moriarty but Andrew Scott is a pretty close second.
We love this clip with Rossini's La gazza ladra Ouverture shining through!
And this is why I love Moriarty
Hilarious!!! Andrew Scott ROCKS as Moriarty!
Sitting on that throne like a queen
+Mysterious Chocolate Chip Yes. He stole Mycroft's place.
Alli Song
I laughed way too hard at this
+Mysterious Chocolate Chip I thank you XD
+Alli Song (Gallifrey) Well what can I say Whovians unite
Moriarty is just so casual, LOL
The Rossini score is pure genius.
I love how they connote the 'fall if England' by literally making cups of tea spill/fall. Filmmaking at it's finest 😂
I loved this scene since I saw it for the first time.....sooo perfect
J. Moriarty is a Clockwork orange:), that music...
I hope the makers of the show did this part in honor of A Clockwork Orange.
That's exactly what I thought when I saw this scene.
I want a series where Moriaty and Crowley are just hanging out.
I NEED THAT
i think we all do
omg, I feel like Crowley would be so impressed by Moriarty
aaaaaaaaargh yazzz!
Lily R he would be such a fangirl
no rush.
Jim Moriarty = best villain ever seen
I feel like this every time classical music comes on.
Lucy Koulermos which piece of music is this?
@@rougemoons6150la gazza ladra, the magpie, Rossini
You know how the title of the film is called "Mariarti steals the crown jewls". Technical he never stels them. Just borrows them. Trying them on for size
Oh. My. God. DAT scene is a pure MASTERPIECE ! Well, the all show is, but that scene, is the incarnation of perfection ! I think that is what we see after death, entering heaven...
Actors, musique, set, realisation, scenario, that show, is the greatest show that has ever been...
I'm putting this in a completely serious final presentation about the Koh-I-Noor diamond because my class really needs to lighten up at the end of the day. Thank you BBC for taking 3 minutes away from my 20 that are needed for this presentation.
Moriarty and Joker are the best villains ever.
I would've laughed so hard if Jim missed the gum/diamond completely and tried to hit the glass, but broke his wrist(s)
+melodyy xx I can't help but wonder if that thing would work IRL
+brachypelmasmith surprisingly enough, it would... >:D
+brachypelmasmith All you need is a diamond and enough pressure and you could break all kinds of 'unbreakable' glass.
+melody xx he would not have broken his wrist
+melody xx Drops the fire extinguisher on his foot in addition.
You know something bad has happened when tea is spilt
This scene has made me totally obsessed with the magpie symphony!
I got locked out of my house one night not long after i seen this episode and had to break a window to get back in, i listened to the theiving magpie on my ipod as i was breaking the window.... totally. worth. it.
This is still my favorite scene out of all the episodes.
This is my favorite clip of Jim Moriarty, all dressed up in Crown Jewels. He should totally be King of England!
He just singlehandedly ruined everyone's afternoon tea time on that very day. Moriarty, you evil genius.
#DidYouMissMe
Me and my mum have this running joke where I say "no rush" if she's late getting out of this door in the morning when I come home from Uni. Gah these little things brighten up my life haha x
this is a great scene to show how moriarty not only pulls off being one of the best villains i've ever encountered but pulls it off while being utterly elegant and hilarious.
Ok but THIS is my favorite scene of all time!!
2:46 Honey, you should see me in a crown.
Okay, I think we can all agree that Andrew Scott gets the best scenes in BBC Sherlock ;) Or maybe he just makes them the best scenes... hmmm
The words 'No rush' will never again be said with such audacious fashion.
The thieving magpie is indeed the perfect song to go along with this. Moffat and Gatiss nailed the second season, especially this episode.
The Thieving Magpie (by Rossini) is one of my favorite pieces of music. Also some fans refer to Jim as the Magpie.
Maybe that is why I love the character of Jim Moriarty so much. Magpie was my first online user name many years ago. And my twins were Heckle and Jeckle online too.
BOSS LEVEL: Moriarty
Troll level: Moriarty.
the music is called the thieving magpie ,because there are hidden magpies all throughout Sherlock (search it up). Moriarty's seal is also a picture of a magpie and the wallpaper at John and Mary's wedding
I kid you not...this is one of the best scenes in the series!!!!
#MoriartyLives #DidYouMissMe
This scene reminds me of A Clockwork Orange XD Moriarty is Alex obviously you droogs
One of the best scene ever seen on the small screen. Amazing.
love the fact that the dancing wasn't part of the script andrew scott is brilliant
Freaking phenomenal scene...
“In a world of locked doors the man with a key is king and honey, you should see me in a crown “

No Rush…
The way he dances toward the glass with the fire extinguisher gets me every time
Rossini’s ‘Thieving Magpie Overture’ really suits this darkly humorous scene.
Aiden Pierce uses hacks to be a tech savvy vigilante in Chicago. Moriarty uses hacks to orchestrate and execute one of the most beautiful scenes in Sherlock.
