- Willie, Sarah and their dog, Jack Spaniels, continue their biggest adventure yet - leaving their suburban life and moving over the sea to a remote cottage on the Isle of Skye, off the west coast of the Scottish Highlands.
In this episode, the Skye Lifers take a trip north to Uig & the magical landscape of the Fairy Glen - one of the most popular tourist hotspots of the island. But will it live up to the hype..?
Plus, we take you along to Nori's first wild swimming lesson with big brother Jack Spaniels and Sarah heads into town, for what could end up being a very costly procedure...
Thanks for watching & see you in the next video!

U.S. subscriber here. Thanks for reminding people not to rearrange or deface the places they visit. More and more local authorities around the world are restricting access to cherished sites because some tourists act as though they have the right to do as they want. I'm also impressed by the way you are raising Norrie with a view to his socialization and health. Well done.
Agree with you....but a pity we cannot give back all the stones used to build churches to the mountains! that was a definitive destruction...and what we are talking here about, are a few displaced little stones ....
If people really want to add a wish the should bring a stone from home to add to the pattern.
@@deedorothypapineau6920Bringing extra stones only fixes part of the issue. The problem in the Fairy Glen is two fold, firstly the damage to a fragile ecosystem from moving the stones to create the spirals, secondly everyone walking the spirals which also causes damage.
@@chloeuntrau4588 why pick on churches - plenty of other building built with stone. Plus rarely taken from mountains - usually quarried in the UK.
@@sallyannc3176my thoughts exactly, only, you said it better! There are several CZcams channels featuring chateaus in France that are built entirely of quarried stone.
Our Snow ploughs have names here in Ontario Canada. Darth Blader, Blizzard of Oz and Sled Zepplin.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m in Ontario too but didn’t know if our plows were named. You must be up north.
Ours do in Scotland too - Andy McFlurry. Lew-Ice Capaldi, Gonnae No Snow Dae That and my personal favourite Wee Freeze! (If you know you know).
Excellent!!
@@deedorothypapineau6920 I am....I am in the snow belt area.
The drone footage at the Fairy Glen was beautiful.
Loved Nori underwater footage.
Jack and his stick game was 😂.
❤
Have a great week Living The Skye Life! 😊
Willie, I have to tell you that the guitar music makes these videos so wonderful to watch. I especially like the “Canine Chaos” (I might have the title wrong) It was the one we watched you record and produce. Sarah, you are always lovely and fun. The pups are so great too. Carry on and much happiness to you.
T
I consider it Nori's Theme. :)
👍😎😆
Oh my!!! Fairy walk, stick game, swimming lesson, yummy treats, teeth and gutter maintenance - Skye life is so enticing! ❤❤❤❤
Love the underwater camera 📷
Jack made me laugh playing with the stick. I wanted you to know how much I enjoy your vlogs. Makes my Sunday 💜
The theme tune for the pups is perfect 🥰
Jack created a reverse type of fetch. Clever boy, Jack!
Loved the videos as every week.
About the blocked drainpipe: there is a rocket shaped nozzle on the market to attach to your garden hose or jetwasher. It works really fine. Highly recommend to get one instead of having an expensiv contractor
The bone button find is so neat! How fun to imagine the lives of the folks that resided there before you. Little Nori's swim was so cute - loved seeing his big mitts paddling through the water. Jack's stick game made me chuckle - the way he crouches down and waits, like he's herding it :)
The views and drone shots from Castle Ewan were magnificent! I can not believe tourists already in February, amazing. I love how you vary your vlogs starting a subject, changing to something else then going back to said subject, very well done and keeps your audience captivated. The underwater images of Nori swimming was so lovely. Not to mention the two humans who look after said puppy and dog are just as enjoyable to watch, your humour, banter with each other is very uplifting, you both have a lovely sense of humour. Hearing the Scottish bag pipes playing in the background while you were taking us around with you Sarah was so in keeping with the surroundings. Love your vlogs, keep them coming. Have a lovely day.
Posted appropriately on Mothers day for a Sarah a lovely pup mum. Your boys are so happy and bonding well 🐶🐾. Happy memories of Uig with my late husband Terry, when we were camping in the 80s. Although we had a special treat for our anniversary and stayed in a posh hotel one night. I still have a crochet bag that the mother of the owner made. Big memories, miss him so much. I was so scared for you on the top of the castle. Take care.
Sending love, light and Spring time blessings 🌷⚘🐸☺ xx
Nori's slightly unsteady clop-clop as he goes into the water at 7:56 is darling. What a little ham! 😄
Stunning scenery and I can almost smell the clean, fresh air! I love the reflections of the mountains in that clear blue water. Nori is growing quickly and is quite a doggy character!
Actually it’s sort of nice to sit with you in the car and listen to the rain.
You mustve worked extra hard to get the underwater shots..you two promote Skye so well xx
That actually brought tears to my eyes, Nori's little face when he was swimming, oh bless him 😁🥰
Love the way you chop the vlogs up into different segments. I always look forward to 6pm Sundays 😊 x
Epic scenery, and thanks for the leave no trace reminder, 😊😊😊
Wow, the views from Castle Ewan were magnificent! Imagine...tourists in February! I wouldn't have expected that.
Loved seeing Nori's first swim!❤
You're very brave going up Castle Ewan in the snow, I got stuck too😂 Love the fun the dogs are having and seeing them both with a long stick is so funny. Music great as always Willie and Sarah you have a great smile, so worth looking after. Thank you for making Sunday a very happy day
Greetings Skyelifers! Watching the pups play & swim, great fun! Willie, remember Nori is reading your energy. Sarah uses changing vocal tones with him. Your beautiful voice is deeper & could sound scolding/angry to him. Simply use a more relaxed/open voice with him. I don't mean falsetto baby talk. Practice different voices see if you find Nori's spot. I imagine you think I have jumped my track. My safety depended on reading cues. My assessments were my survival. As a nurse this was my superpower. Now it is simply an annoying habit/hobby. No offense meant. Jack is so happy to teach Nori the ropes. Fun & interesting! Blessings for improved weather. ❤
Thank you for a fun video! Good for Nori for swimming so well. Thank you Sarah for taking us along on your adventures thru the town and your dental appt. Can’t wait until Spring comes along for your adventures then. The castle was amazing and grand site to see….again be well and see you next week. 😊
Wow loved the fairy glen. I am mad about Faries and snow even at 75. That littlan in the water was really great and to do the swim three times, wow. Loved the way Jack kept tempting you with his stick and then snatching it away. You have a beautiful pair of dogs there for a beautiful pair. I could'nt have stood on the top and looked around like you did my knees wouldturn to jelly.
Beautiful drone shots. Beautiful sunny crisp day
'Don't open that can of worms' - Sarah - brilliant!🤣😍
No need to worry Nori is a water dog for sure and his mentor will guide him well..at least you don't have to throw your arm out tossing sticks for Jack....the fairy was disguised as a random dog that came to greet you...their magically mysterious like that LOL ...such beautiful scenery the reflection in the water was stunning...looking forward to next week...Karl from eastern Canada where the howling winds are blowing s rain, snow and sleet combo at the moment🌨❄🌨❄
The drone shots were amazing. ❤
Another great video you two. My wife and I look forward them every Sunday. And I have to say, during the bloopers section my wife and I got a huge laugh out of the shots of Sarah staring off like that. Great sense of humor! Love the videos!
Jack has Willie trained to follow the stick. Good boy Willie!
Hi guys fab video fairy glen looks absolutely beautiful especially in the snow think all the dogs loved it.loved the sound of ure teeth chomping after ure polish sarah ha ha.nori defo coming on leaps and bounds follows jack like glue especially with the swimming bits we'll done.sad about the drainage bit even though you eventually managed to get the pipe off clean it out hope you get it sorted and doesn't cost too much.oh loved the lobster valentines card cute😊🤙xx
Your music 🎶 with awesome drone shots rocks🦋the variety of subjects is also great to watch ☮️🇨🇦💜
Glad you highlighted the problem of the stone circle in the Fairy Glen, hopefully this will raise some awareness.
Thank you so much for showing us more of the delightful scenery on Skye. The Fairy Glen was lovely but I am glad you bought the cottage you did! The problem you have with pine needles blocking your gutters, how about gutter guards, we have them and they work beautifully. Also why not get concertina extender pipes to put at the bottom of your drain pipes for now, so that you can lay them over the top of the ground and take the water away from your lovely cottage. Hugs to you both and Jack Spaniels and Nori.❤
In the move the stick game Jack has trained Willie quite well. Love you all
I love Skye but have never seen it in the winter - thank you so much for sharing your Skye Life - I have watched from before you arrived and love what you do.
Willy you can get a long rubber pipe with angled jets on the end that plugs into your pressure washer. That way you can jet out your own drains.
Nori’s first swim. So cute!!!
Always look forward to Sundays to watch your videos! Homeowner projects are often like your drain pipe situation. One thing leads to another. To another... 😀
Nori and Jack Daniels really make life an adventure.
Beautiful underwater shots.
As for the fairies, I think they prefer warm weather and full moons.
Is there a company on Skye that has a rotorooter to push the pine needles out of the drains? You can rent them in cities but do you want that challenge?
Ask Richard….
The dogs saw the fairies. You thought they were just running around but I saw them chasing some fairies . Willie couldn’t see them because he doesn’t believe and Sarah had her back turned away. I saw them because I believe. Donna northern Michigan USA
I got to see the fairy glen this past October and it was magical. ❤ I love Scotland so much and can’t wait to come back again.
Can't believe you were able to get all 4 of you to the top of Castle Ewen....beautiful vistas. Love Nori and Jack Spaniels. Jack is a good mentor for Nori. USA viewer
You do live in the most special, beautiful place I have ever seen. I thank you for sharing it with us.
Great scenery footage! Sara, your dental visit is sooooo much cheaper than here in Minnesota!!!! Your drain pipe needs an enema!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
OH 🥰🥰 the bit with the Bagpipes and the panning view was beautiful.. so, clever to just have them quietly in the background as well....what is it about bagpipes that's so haunting...
Breathtaking landscape… how amazing to live in our country… it’s so beautiful ❤
Underwater footage of Nori swimming was the best. ❤
I really loved the drone views . Jack with his stick was so funny. 😺 X
I ❤ Jack’s game of fetch 😂 more like Willy Fetch 🥰 Really appreciate your sharing the boys with us. Thank you 🤗
By the end of the show that also dawned on me. It’s lovely you have wild life roaming around.
I also have wild deer and my own little group. One pony named Jupiter, one mule named Spirit. Four mini goats, Buttons, Saffron, Cinamon, and Valentine, plus six chickens. I have to say my dog Hamish who is a Labradoodle leaves the wild deers alone when we go for a walk, they are all over the place.😊
I love the swimming session. The images of what was happening under the water were great. As the sometime owner of a spaniel, sadly departed, I was often asked to show people her webs. Many people didn't understand how she swam so strongly, and also why I had to check her feet in the summer after walking through grass with spikey seed heads which would get caught in them. Maybe Jack Spaniels might oblige us with a look at his toes! Love the channel.
The scenery in Skye is just beautiful.
Love the scenic shots from the drone of the fairy castle. What a great thing to be able to do
I cant wait to watch your video every week. I love the drone footage you do. I giggled at Jacks stick game. Seeing Nori swim was great. Good luck gettng the drain unblocked. Have a good week guys.
Just Beautiful! So uplifting! Thank you, Four! Those views of the dogs swimming were spectacular and Ewen's Castle!
Happy Sunday to you lot too. Best time of the week.
Thanks guys, how nice was it to hear the pipes in the town footage. So you mention that a lot of the shops close for the season but the towns seem pretty populated. Would they not be able to make a living all year round? Also, in Canada anyway, our eve troughs don't end into the ground, we have what is called elbows and they fit on the end of the drain pipe and run away from the property. Easy cleaning as all you have to do is pull them off and run some water through. Just a thought if you have such a beast on Sky. Easier and cheaper than having to dig. Thanks again for great vids. Oh one more thing. Have you ever put a test pit in a low tide to see if you can find any cool stuff. The button was cool.
Most of the shops remain open during the winter, but a lot of the cafes and more touristy businesses either close of reduce their opening hours. The population of Skye more than doubles in the summer season with tourists staying here!
Wonderful pups, walks and handywork. :)
Happy Sunday
What joy you guys give us every Sunday! Fabulous filming, humour and personalities. Good luck with the gutters and soak away - we have a similar problem.
What a gorgeous sunny walk to the Fairy Glen! We loved Skye Brewing yummyness too 😋 Thank you for sharing your beautiful part of Scotland!
So very lovely at the fairy castle. Spaniels are so very lovely company. My childhood pet was a sussex spaniel "LADY" . She was golden blond and small. I enjoy watching your pups play.
Wow !! The landscape around the fairy castle is stunning! I love the snow dusting the glen ! Nori's swim was so amazing his little paws under the water was so cool to see it was like watching my grandson take his first step! Your going to need the weather to be a slight bit warmer for the Fairies to appear!🥀🌸🌺❤🧚🏾🧜🏾🧚🏾
Nori did wonderfully swimming across the stream 😊
I just realized that you have the same vehicle as VERA! My favourite British tv show.
Haha yeah! Sarah used to see it around her old neighbourhood as they used to film it there
Great walk and enjoyed the dogs swimming in the water you guys are lucky have great walks and love the story telling thanks again guys xx
Looking forward to a separate video on the Isle of Skye Brewery truly a must stop on the isle of skye!!
That Jack! I think he loves playing the stick teasing game with his mom and dad. I heard the piper in town and that was so nice. The snowy walk to the Fairy Glen was great. Thanks for taking us along.
It’s a great game! Especially as it means we don’t have to throw it for him, which can be dangerous
Way to go Nori, swimming is so cool.. The scenery is stunning at the Fairy Glen.. Thanks for taking us along..
Jack with his stick from 9.20 looked such fun and made me smile. Thanks for another lovely video. Take care.
Edit to add, just got to the end and Willie made me laugh out loud with his puzzled 'Woo!' ending, you are all such a delight to watch
Come for a spin in my boat when you come to Harris guys
Great stuff guys, lots of content. Nice to see Portree again, a while since ive been. Jacks antics with the stick are just like Lollies, except she flings it at me ! Not as gentle as Jack😊 Drying Nori to Canine Chaos made me laugh. Thanks for the Skye adventures....Alioban 🐕🐕xxxx
Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints ❤
Lots and lots of fooprints.
Excellent video . Great footage of Jack.and Norrie having fun. Loved your visit to the Fairy Glen, a good time to go when not too many tourists. You definitely and absolutely live in a beautiful place. Best wishes and many thanks.
Such a fantastic video. Loved the dogs swimming. Thank you.
I think that's a new game for Jack. Since Jack can't throw, so he Plays Run & Drop, so Willie can be the stick fetcher. LOL!😄🥰Too Funny and Jack is so smart.
I think Jack was walking Willie by moving the stick so many times.
Love Jack and his sticks!
That was a lovely trip you guys went on, and the dogs clearly had a great time playing in the snow (and Jack made a new friend!). Fully agreed re. tourists rearranging things - can they please not? It's so disrespectful!
I loved Jack's game of "move the stick" and the way he backs off and lies down to wait until you move it. How cute is that?! And of course Nori turned out to be a great swimmer! Now to teach him not to shake himself right next to you ...
I’ve done Uig - Lochmaddy sailing on Calmac many many times on the early Wednesday sailing. It means leaving Inverness at 6am, but worth it.
Really liked the pace and variety of this episode. Neat to see Nori’s webbed feet at paddle andJack’s continued stick ocd
Beautiful little Norrie.... a mini me of my springer spaniel..... when he was swimming I used a harness and a long rope ( when he was old and tired, plus could easily lift him out of the river too with the harness strap )😂😂😂 lovely video today , I loved my visit to Skye years ago
22:30 I think it would be fun to see you two explore Gaelic more. Perhaps a visit to Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, the National Centre for Gaelic Language and Culture? Maybe even swing an interview with the one and only Donnie Munro? In addition to talking about the school, he's also pretty good with a guitar...
A Londoner here, has subscribed a while. Love watching jack and Nori, and what you guys get up to . Wish I could live there , so tranquil . Until next week !! :)
Goodness, normally in the past thirty years we have some venting and clean outs for a distance that long.
You might have a backflow problem from the end as well the way your tides move.
Do wish people could enjoy nature and not muck with it. They always want others to know they were there, like seriously, they are more important. Smft..
Our trucks all have names but the farmers also subcontract to clear area's.🇨🇦
Nori is growing and learning. Jack will teach him well.
Enjoy your week ❤
You are so loving to your dogs and the dearest young couple ⭐️
24:21 Hey, I play that tune on the pipes!
Lovely blog, loved all the different elements and music xx
Paddle-cam of Nori's little legs underwater: priceless.
We love doggy paddle footage 😅
We have plumber piper clearing snakes that we use some are quite long store on a spool and crank out to clear the pipes.
Absolutely gorgeous video. Love the Castle, beautiful views. I think there are many fairy,s, they are just shy to humans. Take care. See you next week.
Just catching up. What a fabulous outing for you - and us! Thank you!
You two are terrigic dog parents. Its lovely to see ypur interactions with Big Brother Jack and Nori. Also, it was too cute to watch Willie with Jack and the stick.😊
I definitely hope that anyone especially US travelers, like myself, respect the areas.
"na dèan dragh air na sìthichean " just to be safe great episode
I saw Gritter Thunberg 😂
My old dad who was a geordie decided to learn Gaelic on retirement to keep his brain active. He enjoyed it.
That private dental visit was so affordable! That's amazing. Here, in the US, if I didn't have dental insurance, what you had done would have cost me well over $1000.
Wow 😳 That’s crazy!
Wonderful video again….loved the doggs swimming and Jacks stick game🤣 Sorry about your gutter situation.🏴xx
Portree looks pretty cool .. hubby and I are looking forward to seeing it for real. I hope when we come at the start of October it's not too busy hehe. hope you put a wire catch doodah in the top of the downpipe :)
