i was hoping those Henry Cavill rumors were going to place him as The Sentry or Hyperion. I guess not
New Daredevil series is supposed to have Tigra.
The Sentry is one of my favorite characters and he makes the most sense in connection to the Thunderbolts and the super soldier program, BUT with everything else where it is in the MCU I think Hyperion's newest origin fits way better, and does way more to drive the whole MCU. With the Incursions, losing his world and being plucked from the void by A.I.M. makes even more sense and he could easily be made the villain when he finds out Our Dr. Strange might have been the cause for the destruction of his universe. Plus that sets up the comic audience being on pins and needles anytime Hyperion and Namor are on screen as -well, along with eventually giving Chris Hemsworth a meaningful co-star and plot when he returns as Thor because of the recent history they have.
LOVE SENTRY, but Fingers Crosses for Hyperion.

The team will divide in the end. One side wants to defend sentry and help him overcome the void, the other side wants to kill sentry to obey orders.
Bucky, yelena, and walker defect to start the new avengers (bucky: "anyone who walks away with me now will be an avenger") and the others retreat (red guardian is kind of a coward, taskmaster is being controlled, ghost needs resources for a cure, etc. Sequel could see yelena and her "father" go head to head, etc).
Potential mid or post credits: new lineup consisting of zemo, abomination, perhaps mordo, etc setting up dark reign/ dark avengers, bucky and Co. Meeting with a revealed old man Steve (or anyone, really) to set up mighty or new avengers, red hulk full reveal, etc.
Secret wars could see all teams (young dark and new avengers) all team up and set aside differences to overcome the multiversal incursions.
Oh, and I think the x-men are secretly phase 6 after Kang dynasty bc Kang removed mutants from the timeline to keep them from interfering with his plans. After that film Kang reveals his plan was to prevent Doom from causing further incursions, he was preventing secret wars but they interfered and now the x-men and fantastic four have to team up With ALL the avengers to stop Doom. And the best part? They'll bring back the original avengers in a way that is reminiscent of endgame revisiting the original battle of NY. Every. Single. Character. Will show up.
Kang dynasty post credits will be the incursion ("it's too late") and all of phase 6 will be individual battleworld films and phase 6 will end with everything going back together and the x-men and fantastic four will be fully restored.

I was wondering when Sentry would be utilized. His is a very dark character, mentally, for sure. I remember reading the Sentry series (beautiful artwork) and a disturbing story.
But remember marvel is light compared to what netflix did or what they could do

Sentry is much, much worse than what you said. It was revealed during Dark Avengers and Fall of Asgard when Loki figured it out that the Sentry is technically the *Literal* biblical angel of death possessing the corpse of a drug addict. When Bob broke into the lab looking for a fix, using the chemical killed him and allowed the angel of death to possess him and "resurrect" him. Loki figured it out, panicked, and took steps to ensure his own resurrection, before sacrificing himself to warn everyone at the battle of Asgard (Which cost him his life, and led to Kid Loki). This led every assembled hero and villain to try and take down Sentry, which led to a lot of other deaths (including Ares). And it was only through the sheer willpower of Bob temporarily suppressing the Sentry/Void they managed to stop it. With Bob literally begging Thor to end his life.
It was dark, really, really fucking dark.

@@Badchocobo He did neither, none of the dark illuminati wanted to listen to Loki. Even Doom was taken out of the left field on that one. The only character that actually listened to Loki was Thor, and by that time the Siege of Asgard was in full swing. So when the reveal happened during the battle because Osborne was stupid enough to call in the Sentry and he went apeshit, it really rapidly turned into a shitshow. Where nearly everyone present realized the gravity of the situation and went all out on Sentry/Void.
Bob had already realized that Sentry/Void was the same entity, which is why he had put himself in the raft to begin with. He was just not aware of what the Sentry/Void actually was, and thought they were simply split personalities of his. Once he learned that he was merely a vessel that allowed this entity to manifest on the mortal plane, he mustered up the entirety of his willpower (which is incredibly hard for an addict), and temporarily suppressed the sentry for long enough that he could convince Thor to strike him dead. By that time, Sentry had already killed Loki, Ares, and several Asgardians.
This whole situation was also what made Loki realize that nobody trusted him because he had fostered a reputation for being a backstabbing prick. Which is why he tried really hard to change his ways when he got a second chance as Kid Loki.
Too bad Disney will make sentry a soft gay boy smh
I have been waiting to see Sentry and Wonderman, and the Shiar's Gladiator, Quasar and Nova, and Also Hyperion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Well, they are going to have a character called Wonderman but he will look nothing like the Wonderman from the comics. Quasar is rumoured to show up in Quantumania but he wasn't a big character in the comics IMO. My guess is that they will gauge fan reaction when the movie comes out. Gladiator would not show up until Phase 7 at least but Hyperion is rumoured to show up in Loki Season 2 as a member of a variant Avengers team. Oh and Nova is rumoured to be either a special presentation or a show on Disney+.

I think you got Sentry mixed up with Hyperion. Hyperion is the more the Homelander/crazy bad Superman character your ascribing to Sentry. Hyperion also leads the Squadron Supreme team in.
Sentry is both the superhero and the super villan rolled into one. Sentry (Bob) is a good man with good intentions who has no clue at first that every time he does something heroic with his powers that gives the Void (his evil side) the same opportunity to do great evil. Bob isn't petty or manipulative, think basically superman who had all his memories and the entire history of all his good work completely erased from his and the worlds mind. He is good and just confused, lost and has ABSOLUTELY no control over what the void that resides inside him does, its two separate entities in one so he's just nothing like what your describing unless Marvel decides to mash the two characters up. This is all off the top of my head so apologies if I'm off the mark.
No in some way he is correct with the comparison. If you read the New Avengers where the Avengers received help from the Xmen and Fantastic Four, Emma Frost went into Bob's mind to try and fix all the broken pieces. He's mentally unstable

Very stoked to finally see The Sentry on the big screen, he's my favourite Marvel character. Though I wouldn't quite compare him to Homelander, I think he's much more human, and leans more on the "good" side. Curious to see what they'll do! I'm actually friends with Paul Jenkins (the original writer) and I directed The Sentry short film you can find online! Always been my dream to see him in the MCU!!!

Yea but it obvious that World War Hulk will loose for a few reasons. 1 the Sentry has fought Hulk multiple times and not once has Hulk won. And 2 The only person even compared to the Sentry’s level is Blue Marvel you would need Superman prime 1 million just for him to compare to the normal version of Sentry. And he is not the evil version of Superman either. He is the most powerful hero there is.
Yeah that's where my mind went when I first saw this. World war hulk.... They need him because how would they end the film. Starks dead so he can't build the satellite that makes hulk revert to banner. The only way is for sentry to fight him to a standstill and maybe die

Sentry is a little bit more like Doctor Manhattan than Superman (though he certainly looks like Superman and wants to be a kind of Silver Age Superman character). Instead of Dr. Manhattan's problem with powerlessness (believing he's locked into doing everything he's foreseen himself doing, thinking his life is happening in lockstep), he has a different type of powerlessness just under the surface of seemingly infinite power.
Because, deep down, Sentry doesn't believe he's worthy of power or capable of doing real good. So, for every good deed Sentry performs, the Void exists to undo it or to do equivalent evil in the world. If Sentry saves someone, Void needs to kill someone. If Sentry protects property, Void needs to steal or destroy property. Void exists to make sure the Sentry never really makes the world any better, because deep down, he doesn't believe he ever can. That's the real reason making everyone forget Sentry neutralizes the Void: if Sentry makes no mark or improvement in the world, Void doesn't need to do anything to make Sentry's existence pointless.
If we're getting Sentry , we better be getting Blue Marvel Soon.

@@sbtruestone I have faith we will sooner or later. I think Black Panthers success proves the demand for strong positive black male characters. We need more than a handful of them, hopefully Marvel sees that (this applies to all demographics though).

I still vividly recall the full page spread of Sentry tearing Ares, the God of Frickin War, in half. The spread was literally just guts everywhere and all the heroes looking on in utter shock.

It would be nice, but since Sentry isn't very popular for non comic book folks, so i think bringing a well known actor to play the role will be a kind of preemptive "damage control".

I think if they focusing on super soldiers, baron zemo will be an antagonist on the beginning before he takes over the team for his own doings. As a long time sentry fan it’s unfair to compare him to homelander. He’s a straight psychopath. Reynolds has base morals. For example when he isolated himself in the raff out of fear of his own power. Super excited to see him on screen.

I like the fact that you can follow the different characters along different movies. Like how First Avenger, Incredible Hulk, Winter Soldier, Civil War, Black Widow, Falcon and Winter Soldier, New World Order, Thunderbolts and World War Hulk tells one story about super soldiers while Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Avengers, Iron Man 3, Age of Ultron, Infinity War, Endgame, Ironheart and Armor Wars tells a completely different story that happened at the same time. Then we get all the stuff about magic, gods and monsters that will presumably lead to Midnight Sons and also all the cosmic stuff that has to do with the Guardians, the Marvels, the Eternals, the Celestials, the Kree, the Skrulls and Xandar and then the street level stuff that includes the Netflix and Hulu series plus Spider-Man and Born Again.
Hope we see sentry vs abomination in this movie

I can’t tell if that thumbnail is Martin Wallstrom from Mr Robot or Alexander Skarsgard from True Blood, but honestly either of them would be amazing at portraying the darker side of Sentry. Hype for this, hopefully it’s darker and makes better use of the story than they did with Gor the god butcher.
That's a nice way of framing Hyperion's origin but there are so many different versions of Hyperion and origin stories for Hyperion. I like that one the best, but it gets really confusing over the years lol. Although, my absolute favorite is the J. Michael Straczynski/Gary Frank run.

I don't know why more people aren't excited for the Thunderbolts! I love how they are slowly introducing these characters and it's going to be epic seeing them come together for the first time.
Except this isn't a thunderbolts lineup from the comics
Because the concept of the original Thunderbolts was very different. I just hope they secretly have Zemo still in there.

The team will divide in the end. One side wants to defend sentry and help him overcome the void, the other side wants to kill sentry to obey orders.
Bucky, yelena, and walker defect to start the new avengers (bucky: "anyone who walks away with me now will be an avenger") and the others retreat (red guardian is kind of a coward, taskmaster is being controlled, ghost needs resources for a cure, etc. Sequel could see yelena and her "father" go head to head, etc).
Potential mid or post credits: new lineup consisting of zemo, abomination, perhaps mordo, etc setting up dark reign/ dark avengers, bucky and Co. Meeting with a revealed old man Steve (or anyone, really) to set up mighty or new avengers, red hulk full reveal, etc.
Secret wars could see all teams (young dark and new avengers) all team up and set aside differences to overcome the multiversal incursions.
Oh, and I think the x-men are secretly phase 6 after Kang dynasty bc Kang removed mutants from the timeline to keep them from interfering with his plans. After that film Kang reveals his plan was to prevent Doom from causing further incursions, he was preventing secret wars but they interfered and now the x-men and fantastic four have to team up With ALL the avengers to stop Doom. And the best part? They'll bring back the original avengers in a way that is reminiscent of endgame revisiting the original battle of NY. Every. Single. Character. Will show up.
Kang dynasty post credits will be the incursion ("it's too late") and all of phase 6 will be individual battleworld films and phase 6 will end with everything going back together and the x-men and fantastic four will be fully restored.

I always thought Sentry could be Channing Tatum especially after seeing the Lost City movie with long blonde hair lol. It could align with Deadpool doing his Multi-verse jump and calling him "Gambit?!" theory, but Alexander Skaarsgard looks perfect
I feel like they shouldn’t stop with Sentry, they should introduce all of Marvel’s super men, Blue Marvel, Hyperion, Gladiator, etc! They would be really fun to do, especially with bigger threats out in the multiverse, why not👍🏾
I wonder how they'll do Sentry. I've been traumatized by the recent Thor movie and some other past movies where they featured a grand character from the comic books that has lasted multiple issues and storylines and they get watered down as a one time villain that gets offed at the end of the movie.

@@emergencyawesome I'm serious I'll do it. I have this Paul Jenkins direct edition book of the sentry. It's the only comic I've ever bought, only one I've ever personally read and he was the first marvel character I really fell in love with.
It's about time the Mental Health Industry gets recognized for doing good. Yes, it has it's downside with a rather disturbing yet disarming past, but it has its uplifting upside with beautiful minds that do good. Sentry with this story is the balance of both sides.
I’m still bummed that they probably won’t include Zemo in this movie! He’s the one of the founders of the team AND he would be hugely pissed off about sentry/Ross messing with the super soldier situation. I really want zemo to pull out some crazy schemes like he did in Avengers: Civil War. 😢😢😢
