I can tell at least half the people down in the comments didn't bother to watch the bodycam footage. Nobody who watched all the bodycam footage can in good faith claim Deputy Eggers was at fault. DeHart did everything he could to make sure things happened the way that they did. Deputy Eggers was calm and professional throughout the interaction. In fact, for the idiot saying "she escalated the situation; should have left it to a man", Deputy McCowan rolled up and immediately yelled at and ordered DeHart, taser already drawn. If anyone escalated the situation, it was him. Of course, if DeHart had actually cooperated with police instructions, none of this would have happened in the first place. But, nah, fam. A cop did her job within the confines of the law, and an uncooperative armed felon made an easy situation into a difficult one, murdered a man over it, and attempted to murder Eggers as well. So this is *obviously* the cop's fault. /s Typical trash ACABer stupidity.
He was also calm an collected until the tazing began. Her refusal to get a canine unit to indicate is suspect. If there was any truth in it would have only strengthened her case .. But nope her nose is better than a dogs apparently.. And please explain to me how sitting in a car calmly is escalating the situation. Just how many black men have died at the hands of cops. And here we have a cop refusing to back up her claims. And A second cop approaching with a tazer.. And as the video shows so trigger happy he even stuns his own partner.. Yell at him to get of the car finger pulling the trigger. And slamming the car door in his face but telling him to get out of the car.. Where in that is the guy escalating the situation??? Please tell what violent actions was he doing .. What harassing words was he using??? It is only right at the very end he snaps and acts stupidly .. But to be honest if you where on the receiving end of that on regular basis and seeing black men up and down the country dying from police encounters I can see why he snapped. (I am not saying its right!) It took her 13 mins to say I smell marijuana. She was nice and friendly .. What harm would have it done to continue to be friendly and point out he was only going to make things worse. desculation route. But nope Miss MY NOSE IS BETTER THAN A DOG!! said light him up or something along those line went down the pure aggressive route .. So yeah she is to blame 100% in my opinion

She was 22 years old and kept calm and did everything she could do to keep the situation neutral until back up arrived. It was a GOOD v&t stop… they just happened to pull over an animal who doesn’t belong in the free world, who consciously chose to do the worst thing possible… absolutely atrocious and despicable! This was second degree no doubt. He was being tased when he fired the first shot at the deputy. If he just fired unexpectedly while they were speaking that’s a horse of another color. If you are the victim of violence ( being tased) and you harm the person harming you and end up killing them how is that a premeditated murder?
A felon carrying a firearm is assumed to have made up his mind to be willing to kill. He killed in the process of the commission of a felony. Hence 1st degree murder. And he is 100% guilty.

She got incapacitated by her own partner’s taser then got shot. Agree that she’s not a hero. In fact, it was trying to be heroes that got them both shot. Rushing instead of calling for backup. 🤷♂️
This deputy, in my opinion got her partner killed.. Her incompetency and then didn't even render aid to her severely wounded partner. The way her and her partner treated and acted on the traffic stop was just unbelievable. Failure on so many levels. What not to do on a traffic stop 101. The slow response time of the other cops as well is probably a reflection on their department.
…she didn’t render aid because if you watched the body cam video, he was shot in the head and chest, he was practically dead on instant. when she got shot in the leg immediately after he was shot, she couldn’t move. and why would she move closer to the car with the suspect and gun? she drew her gun to try and stop him. after she got shot in the leg, the suspect ran over his head. no, i wouldn’t check on him either. the citizens that came to help, checked his pulse moments later, and he was gone. she did her duty well.
facts since you can’t watch a body cam video properly: she pulled him over because he was swerving in the road at night, got his license/registration, searched up that he was a felon, ran his license plate, realized it was his grandmother’s car, they give her a call for her to justify that he can be driving it, and when she had come back to the car, on the other side opposite to the driver’s side, smelled marijuana. he has a history of drugs, so no wonder he might have it. AND he’s a felon on probation with other history of theft etc. she asked for him to step out of the vehicle, and since he was on probation as a felon, he had to comply but refused. she called back up, taser was fired for resisting, and without knowing he had a gun, they were shot.
i don’t care if you think marijuana should be legalized or not, the fact of the matter is, in the state of Tennessee, it isn’t. it’s not his or her fault it is illegal, so shoving your prejudice down their throats because you hate cops shows your ignorance to the highest level.

Are you dumb? The guy was swerving heavily on the road so she initiated a traffic stop smelled pot asked this dude to get out so she could REASONABLY search the vehicle. He didn’t want her to(wonder why maybe the gun a felon shouldn’t have) and he resisted(meaning he escalated durr) so she called backup and goat rodeo ensues.

Because she was shot as well? In the body cam she keeps saying “I need to help my partner” over and over as two civilians are trying to sit her down as she was shot in the leg.

She was shot as well and if you watch the raw body cam footage a civilian was checking on him while another was applying a tourniquet to her. While that was going on the one checking on her partner walked up and said he's gone. Not much you can do then.

@@isa_L nope if he had a man backing up him and helping control the situation instead of making the animal more hostile and agitated it would have been handled. All that she did was make the situation worse. A real back up would have taken a different angle i.e looking on the other side or shooting the the windshield immediately once the gun was spotted.

I think all 3 parties are in the wrong here. She was profiling and " brotha" should never been said, use "sir" as a sign of mutual respect. Her partner was way too loud and aggressive and tased him too long . But the root of the incident remains...he should have cooperated with her and requested a supervisor IF he was innocent of DUI and drugs. Its a sad thing to see for all involved. The culture needs to change for both the black community as well as the leo community. Just my opinion

@@mickjagger8439 I think I've had at least four times when cops say they smell weed or alcohol. Went it wasn't true at all. When my ex wife and I first moved out together and she was pulled over after 10pm for speeding. After she got home he shown up at our home for some BS reason. He was shocked when I opened the door. She was 18 it was about 11pm at night at this point. Cops make up a lot of crap. Not saying what the guy did was right. But using the old I smell weed bs needs to stop.

@@Magplar well I worked night for many years and when things would break down I would come home at all times of the night. Where I worked in KC that small town was so bad at profiling people that the state shut them down. Randolph Missouri. Being I worked worked an hour from home I would pass another town that was so bad about pulling people over the state forced the county and local to stay off the interstate. So just because it didnt happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Google Randolph Missouri PD. I worked right next to the PD.
