- Off Broadway / Off Broadway USA is a band that formed in Oak Park, Illinois. In 1979, they released the album "On" which contained our featured song "Stay In Time". A great mix of power pop, rock and an early 80's top 40 sound. "Stay In Time" reached #51 on America's Billboard "Hot 100" chart. You can hear this song (and many others like it) played often on my internet radio station kvkvi.com which features "Music Mike's Flashback Favorites" 24/7

Definitely one of my all time favorites! Rock On!
Used to hear Stay In Time quite a lot on WLS back in the spring of 1980. Great song!
Man what great memories this song brings me! Growing up in Puerto Rico at that time! They use to over play this one at the beach all the time.😃🤙AWESOME
Chicago rock the guitarist was my neighbor 1979
I had totally forgotten about this song until last night, when I stumbled upon it on one of radio DJ airchecks from Summer 1980.....definitely a forgotten oldie!
Love this song, I still have the original 45, thanks Music Mike
Excellent quality!!! Thanks, from Zion, IL.
Seen them play at the International Amphitheater in Chicago with Survivor I believe.
I wasn't sure till I heard the chorus, but yeah, I definitely heard this on WLS back in the day.
Great tune Mike! I heard it a few times here in Philly back then. I'm lookin' forward to more great tunes - keep 'em coming!
Just though of this song today randomly. Steve Dahl used to play it and helped promote them on the radio. Great tune.
Chicago best place on earth!
Vaguely remember this! Car rides on the weekends.. This reminded me of The Cars and noticing the beginning of "new wave" was just around the corner. Thanks loads!!
Great song - I hear it for the first time...thanks Mike.

Love your show.
Pure Pop
From the Chicago area, so I do remember the song. Great to see you adding a new song, Mike!
your voice is great. your presentation is so clean, mean, and bad to the bone....love UA Mike.... God bless you
Great lost 45, Mike! I used to buy 45s on a lark just hoping for the best. I discovered a lot of great music that way.
"New Romance (It's a Mystery)" by Spider
"Never Wanna Lose You" by New England

Nice to see you with a new video Mike! :-)
A great post Music Mike!! Didn't hear this tune much on the east coast back in the day - but a great tune nonetheless.
I'm from the Chicago area, I've seen them live several times; they were a great band! Although #51 on the Hot 100 chart is nothing at all to sneeze at, this song should have been huge, because it's infectiously catchy and it rocks! Unfortunately, these guys far too often were compared to Cheap Trick and were kind of pigeonholed.
great song
Music Mike! I think you're doing a great job bringing out some classic cuts!
Awesome job mike! I love kvkvi here in tulsa we love some of the artists that you feature such as phil seymour and David gates and of course our very own leon russell that are from my hometown keep up the great work !!!!
Thanks much.....glad to have you listening in Tulsa.
Very happy your back on my monitor. I did not know the Off Broadway group, it must be said that in 1979 the rock have attempted to put water in his wine for reasons no doubt, blameworthy each others inevitable, I had on my side started to enlarge the circle of what on Earth is rhythm.
Off Broadway was big, for a year or two, in their home town area of Chicago.
P8p
Glad to see you back Mike! I don't recall hearing the song although parts of it sound familiar. Sounds good! -Henry
What a “wasted” talent Cliff Johnson was. Great singer and showman.
I heard the song before but I didn't know who sang it ..I heard it on a radio station in Vancouver British Columbia
I am from Vancouver as well, never heard them on the radio , but 1st heard them 10 yrs ago and really liked them. Just found out as looking this up that the singer has died and was in a group Pezband that I remember as well
You brought a lot of joy in your music
R.I.P.
Great song MusicMike! Here's another obscure oldie for you that was only on Atlanta radio for 2 or 3 weeks...King Of Hearts - Something To Hide - Dan
Dan, I'll check it out......
Saw them over 100 times. Great hooks, pulsating guitzrs, lead vocals, and presentation. Hang On For Love, another great one by them. Good find Mike.
Off Broadway USA's album "On" is listed in the 4th Edition of Goldmine's Record Album Price Guide at a mint price of $20.00--check your collections; I have this great Lp.
saw them do a solo show and loved it. then saw them open up for Judas Priest/UFO in STL and they got booed off stage. SAD!
Unlucky, terrible pairing with that audience for them
Jimmy Pardo.
Never heard this one. Did not like it.
