- Summertime 1977.......A Excellent Re-Make Of This Classic Beach Boys Song By B.J. Thomas. Listen Closely To The Words....They Have Been Changed To Create A More Generic Love Song....Instead Of The Original Lyrics Which Are About A Race Car Driver And His Girlfriend Telling Him On Race Day "Don't Worry Baby, Everything Will Be All Right". The Summer of 77 what a great time to be young!!!!!
Fell in love with this song from the legendary BJ Thomas when it came out and still love it to this day. RIP beautiful soul BJ Thomas 🎶💚🎶
This guy had a set of pipes. Great singer. Miss him.
Ahh. High school memories. Yessss
B J doing the beach boys...B J is Great!!!!....RIP B J....Miss your Great Music 🎵🎶
B. J.'s version of this classic Beach Boy's song is gold...his soaring vocals did it justice. RIP great man, thanks for the music and memories!
Music Mike's Flashback Favorites truly best of all 60s 70s and 80s just love it also I like a to pay a special tribute to the late great B.J. Thomas and this song Don't Worry Baby great cover song original done The Beach Boys back in 1964 released in 1977
Wow what a beautiful. Remake. . i heard thos lovely version in 1977. I wad only 13 Yeara of age
The one the only BJ Thomas. Of all the single artists this man has my heart. Not only so darn handsome but a voice that makes me want to scream with LOVE. I love this song, but my favorite was “Mighty Clouds of Joy”. Thank you so much!!
The Best interpretation.Unforgetable song.I like too.
I listened to WLS and WCFL as a teen in Chicago in the 60s . Great music and awesome memories
+Norman Witt I grew up in Chicago and listened to them all the time. Larry Lujack, Dick Biondi. Those are the only two names I can remember right now.
AM radio was rocking in Chi-town during the 70s. WLS and WCFL were my two favorite stations.
Norman Witt Oh my gosh, me too. Oh my heart. Forgot about the channel names and the DJ’s. Best 2 channels, in my opinion, to date.
A fine version of a classic song.
WLS was the station every teen Agee listened to in the 60’s from Chicago to Memphis and probably even further. Art Roberts and Ron Riley were always ion during cruising time on Friday and Saturday night.
I am a big B.J. Thomas fan!!! I love his music so much!!! Keep on posting more songs!!! I love the oldies!!!
Hey, B. J., this stuff rocks in 2021! Fantastic, brother. Thanks so much!
WOWWW ❤🎉😊
This version has been audio enhanced to really bring out the 2 12 string guitars in the middle 1:50 and it really improves the song giving it a brighter sound....just how I would do it!! Great job and thanks for posting it!
Thank you.
One of my BJ favorites.
This song it nearly impossible to find today because B. J. re-recorded so many of his big hits--and I know this original version is not on itunes. I think you can only find it on Amazon on an import CD issued in 1999. So thanks Mike for allowing us to listen to it here.
I prefer this version as well Although I remembered him singing it much lower in the key of G and slower? Must just be in my head sounds better that way. RIP BJ Thomas!
Loved the video best !!!
Miss Jeff Gordon on track❤️
Incredible version s urpassing. The beach boys
When you could relate special moment and a song. Great
Magic Mike on top of it as always. Great Video and choice for a song. BJ Thomas rules !.
HAHA! First time i ever heard this song it was on WLS(the Big 89)! Just put this on my iPod a couple of months ago. Love it!!
Wow do I remember this! Great record.
1977: BJ had gone through his troubles and came out the other side cleaned up and meeting Chris Christian and Michael Omartian. They got him a contract with MCA's Christian imprint, Songbird, and this one was so good it was released on the main label. He had a couple of followups.
best version ever!!!
Disagreed. The Beach Boys OWNED this! It was released in '64.
BJ Thomas beats beach boys hands down. BJ THOMAS OWNED IT.:>)
Not bad, but not the Beach Boys
This Video' is the Best i have seen in a long time"...

First time listening to this. Already love it. Nice choice! mike :)
Thanks MusicMike! I've been awaiting your return!
Awesome, Mike! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Mike, I never heard this version but BJ always comes through! hehe
Not a car racing fan sorry, but have always loved BJ Thomas's voice and his version of one of my fave Beach Boys songs.
Hi Tom, I know the song doesn't refer to car racing, I was just referring to the video & comments about NASCAR. You're so lucky seeing BJ Thomas, next time please tell him I've always been a devoted Aussie fan. I have an LP with his version of I'm Gonna Make You Love Me which I absolutely love. I have it on one of my 60s compilation cds. When I was driving out to care for my late Mother, I used to put them on & sing along. This music including his songs gave me great comfort in hard times.
Great stuff. Thanks, Mike.
Not a bad remake....Thought I'd hate it, but I like it.
John Trujillo Only Keith Moon could screw this up.
Rest in peace Aryton Senna (1960-1994) 🇧🇷
A message from the Philippines🇵🇭
Here's BJ Thomas' cover version of The Beach boys song
“Don't worry baby"
Enjoy folks
Yeah, like a girl’s love will help a guy race better. Man, we’ll believe anything. I like this version better than the BBs.
QUE barbaro
I thought of this today as Gordon lost power to his race car while on the track and In 1st place. I recall his uptodo wife .. first wife shown here. His current wife would likely be amused .
Luvaquad I have to drive 100s of miles to see Nascar it's worth it, im used to 70,000 fans at football games, 150,000 in North Carolina was crazy.
Jeff Gordon has to know hes in this video, right? If he does I don't remember him ever mentioning it. I cant decide if Thomas or the Beach Boys sing it best.
loobey dooby do
Hate this new place for comments!
No! This song belongs to the Beach Boys, and it should stay theirs! It was a huge hit in southern California, and it was the B side of 'The Warmth of the Sun'. Go figger that one out! "Don't worry Baby" should have been the A side.
